Yeah, this is what it must be like to have a poo poo cookie sandwich in front of you, with the slight possibility that it isn't poo poo but a really delicious mousse. You kinda wanna try it, but more importantly you don't wanna be the guy who ate a poo poo cookie sandwich.

The problem with this is that as someone who has never read the novel and has little to no idea what gone girl is, aside from the fact that it's a book that 'moms' read, I have no idea what it is for, little what it's about, and no reason to care. So fox's advertising partners, let me show you how it's done.

I can't wait for the trailer, if mainly for the outrage that it doesn't look like a non-24fps video camcorder that they got off the shelf. Because, you know, if they can't afford a crappy poster then they can't afford a basic RED camera rental. Alternativly, the outrage that it does look like poo poo in imax.

Honestly, I'd be more than happy if that was an official teaser poster. It feels appropriate to a riff on the old Struzan posters. This one feels reflective of the how the new trilogy relates to the old one, or at least how it should. Heavily inspired by the imagery and themes of the old films, but set in the styles of a new generation of creators.

Seriously, as much as it was The TV show, and a progenitor of a lot of modern cable TV, it was pretty much an oddball soap opera that got by on it's mystery. As long as you go in aware that it's a mystery wrapped inside a screwball soap, you should be good. Also, that it get's bad sometime in the second season and cancelled before it was finished. That said I love it to death and am eagerly awaiting the new show and it's new cast of oddballs and their dumb, melodramatic problems and relationships.

Are you kidding? It's animals doing funny animal things in a particularly inoffensive way. It sells like hotcakes and has for, I'm gonna guess, centuries now. Plus it's Disney, it's been test marketed and rewritten and test marketed again and vice versa until a hole in their release schedule needs to be filled. Unless society at large has caught onto furries being an incidental sex cult over the next several months, it'll do fine. Edit: Whether or not is good, or high minded, is secondary to if soccer mom's will take their kids to it and laugh every 4.76 minutes until it gets sad.

Cleretic posted:It's reportedly based on The Dark Knight Returns, which is one of those famous reactive comics. Specifically, to bring the Batman character himself back to what he was supposed to be: grim, dark and frightening. He'd been hit and derailed pretty hard by the Comics Code and the Adam West TV show, and it was TDKR that finally brought him back to the serious Batman he's been since. So you're saying, to make a truly, contextually analogous film, we'd need an infallible, quip-y, and true blue boy scout. One who puts his faith in the justness of the criminal justice system (despite repeat offenders), the potential of tomorrow's generation(whose influences and morality must be considered), and the honesty of the common man (and doesn't let a few bad apples ruin it). I'd like that actually.

Sharknado it the equivalent of that one dude in the office who came up with a kinda funny joke, got a bunch of laughs from their friends and bosses, and then told it incessantly for years afterwards. What I'm trying to get at is, I don't think it's a cynical cash cow. I think it's a bunch of guys who think their one joke was really funny the fourth time around. And the sad fact is that they're probably doing the best work of their careers.

Got back from a preview screening last night. Holy poo poo. That was better than I was ever expecting it to be. It's not Hot Rod 2, it's more like an extended SNL skit that works surprisingly well. And my god, the people that they got is astounding, between the musicians playing themselves and comedians in minor roles. Not to spoil things, but they got Will Arnett, Eric Andre, Chelsea Peretti, and Mike Berbiglia as TMZ 'reporters' half improvising in some of the funniest scenes of the film. I can almost see it poised to be another Borat, if not, as I half expect, a perennial classic along side Spinal Tap. Plus, I kinda imagine it's a veiled comment on Lonely Island's celebrity, especially Andy Samberg's. Though, despite selling it as an Andy Samberg joint, it's definitely a Lonely Island through and through by the end.

They could play it ambiguous about how far along after the first it is, and thus Deckard's aged appearance could be because he's an old man, or because replicants 'degrade' in a similar way to humans. Or they could go all the way, and make it ambiguous if Ford is playing the same character as Deckard.
