Alexei Alexei puts the car in park and grimaces. "Out in the fog, huh? I wonder if it's Mary, or something worse. I know what happens in these situations. You go into the fog and never come out." He opens the door and steps out, and draws his Glock, holding it down by his waist, his flashlight in his other hand.

Nicholas Black The fog is not the only thing in the air. Well, to Nick, anyways: there was also a thick tension rolling in that is just as palpable. As he sticks close to Morris - for the man's benefit more than his own - he tenderly flexes his right hand as it rests squarely above his holster. Whatever concerns he had earlier were slowly yet firmly erased when the distance decreases. "I guess the real question is: who's gonna bell the cat?", he remarks in a sardonic manner...hoping it'll keep away the growing dread. All the while, he avoids eye contact in order to keep focused. --- That sucks. I'm not abandoning the game, but I *did* overestimate my current situation. Having said my piece, I'm willing to move Nick to his demise, unless you wanted to.

Morris From the back seat, Morris leans his head forward a bit between and over the chairs up front, peering at Marion with a skeptical eye and interjecting into the response to her question to Eddie and James. "Excuse me, ma'am," he begins, "But...tell me what, exactly? I mean, I ain't no fool - I know yinz hadn't been telling me everything. Just no idea what or why. If this is going to be weird trouble here tonight, I'd 'ppreciate knowing what the gently caress, you know?"

Marion Tipplepot - Humvee South "Well-" She lets the word draw out in her mouth for a moment and looks at Eddie. Thinking a moment she decides to just go with it. "Okay, you are going to call me crazy, and that is okay. We all thought the same thing till it happened to us first." She looked around into the fog and slowed down to her usual careful pace. The fog misting around the fence posts as she moves the Hummer by the fence. "Morris. You know all the fairy tales, all the ghost stories and all the like monster stories? Well, they are real. Maybe not exactly, but they are real. They come here to get in the Warehouse. We are the people that stop them. The first night they said they encountered aliens who took half the people." She sighs and starts speaking a little slower, "The second night, the night I came on, we killed a sasquatch and encountered a ghost named Mary who tried to drag me into the swamp because I didn't believe in such things." She pauses for a moment, "Last night, nothing happened other than a prank." She accents them meaningfully as she looks off into the fog with more concentration. "The fog makes it worse, it seems. As for the things in the fog and strange thing happening, that is me. I have well, I have creatures following me. You can ask the others on that one, but I suspect you won't believe till something weird happens." She shrugs and looks forward. "So far at least four people have died, if not more. We never did find out about the blood in the holding cell, but lets assume at least four. No, you can't get out of your contract. No, if you leave something far worse will happen to you." She gives a glance to Eddie and then says, "Anyone you try to involve with it to stop it, will disappear." She says as matter of factly as she can. Marion felt terrible for the man, but at least now he knew what was going to happen. "So that is the story, we wanted to keep it till something weird happened so you didn't think we are crazy, but with the fog..." She trails off, "I'm sure something will happen soon enough."

James As Marion goes and does the exact thing that everyone had agreed they shouldn't, James finds his face resting firmly against one hand. The accompanying sigh would be thunderous, if it weren't for the ongoing flood of what must seem insane babble. Already he can feel the onset of a headache that was entirely mundane in origin. Morris He blinks rapidly, trying to parse everything that he had been told. It was, of course, absolutely insane; even if Marion sounded rather convinced it was true, it was still insane. Barely above a whisper, Morris exhales with an astonished: "Motherfucker." The options, as he saw them, were this. Number one was that this was some sort of an elaborate hazing ritual to try to convince him of absolute bullshit as a joke. That seemed the most likely, even with Marion sounding so sincere. If it wasn't a joke, maybe his co-workers were all insane, and he had been brought in to help keep them from doing anything too crazy. Considering his meeting with the Basorus rep (which still wasn't all that long ago), that at least seemed possible. Also possible, if perhaps in a remote sense, was something a bit more elaborate; that some rival organization had found out how superstitious Basorus's people were, and had constructed some involved Scooby Doo-style operations to mess with them. It certainly did have that sort of feel to it all, what with Sasquatches and ghosts and so forth. The possibility of any of it actually being true never crossed his mind. "This had better not be a fuckin' joke," Morris finally says. "I mean - that's some bullpoo poo if I ever heard some, but maybe you don't think you're lyin', feel me? That maybe someone is loving with yinz, tryin' to make you believe some crazy bullshit so they can move in on your company's turf, right? Or maybe yinz just crazy. But if you're trying to gently caress with my head, that ain't cool at all."

North end The three men step out into the fog. Isaac stays back by the humvee. Stepping out into the fog, Alexei stays near Sean. Nick, however, goes further out to the right. Before Alexei or Sean can say anything, Nick disappears into the fog. "Nick!" Isaac yells. Both Sean and Alexei hear and see Isaac. There is no response from Nick. When Sean and Alexei look for Nick, they spot someone walking just north of the fence. They can just make out the dark shape of a person walking up to the fence. Sorry Ragitsu, Nick is going to disappear.

Eddie -- In the Humvee Eddie remained quiet while Marion blew the lid off the secret that they were keeping from Morris. Though it had surprised him a little that she'd decided to spill the beans, Eddie supposed it made sense. The fog was most definitely unnatural, and it was better for Morris to have at least some kind of introduction to what this job entailed so he wouldn't freeze up in confusion the first time he'd get charged by a werewolf or a space vampire or whatever the hell other sort of fiends that were drawn to this place. "She's not lyin," Eddie said, keeping his eyes on the rolling fog. "You'll find out soon enough that she's not lyin'."

Marion Tipplepot - South Humvee She hears the call over the radio and looks to the others again with great dread. Grabbing the wheel, she starts driving faster toward the north. She wondered if she would get there in time at all, or if like Sophie they would all die. She looks to the others, "I guess it is good timing on my part. I hope Nick is okay." She says as an afterthought. "I hate this part so much." She says with dread, wondering what terror of the night is going to erupt from the fog. #We are on our way Alexei. Morris Maybe it was the tone of voice that did it most of all - and the panic on the other end of the radios. But it was clear to Morris now that, whatever the truth actually was, something bad was up. His hand snakes down to his waist, and the holster there - old reflexes - before he thinks better of it and instead grasps the back of the seat in front with both hands. "Motherfucker," he repeats, this time louder than the last. "Okay. So something is up. Whatever that something is. What you want me to do?"

Isaac He barely gets out of the humvee before he turns to see Nick gone and the others wondering off into the fog as well. "loving poo poo gently caress..." One simple rule. One he has seemingly repeated a hundred times since their first coworker died in this place. 'Stay together'. "Nick!" he shouts into the fog, with no reply. "God dammit..." He'll do all he can to keep them safe, but he can hardly protect them from themselves. #Get the hell over here# he growls into his radio at the other team. #And stay to-loving-gether# He looks to his rifle sat in the humvee and decides to leave it for now. He's not about to go all out until he knows exactly what this intruder is. Could just be a dumb kid. Somehow he doubts it, but anything's possible here and he's not about to receive a bollocking from Bob just because he gets too carried away with the heavy weapons before he knows what he's dealing with. With little choice left now, he jogs up to Sean and Alexei, cursing all the while. Eyes dart around wildly for Nick, but all he sees is fog. Then he catches sight of the figure by the fence. Focus. Intruder first. Then look for Nick and pray he's still alive. He steps up between Alexei and Sean, eyes fixed firmly on the obscured figure in the fog. "Whoever the hell you are, you are in a restricted area" Even with the distance between him and the fence, he has no doubt the figure can clearly hear his calls. Warning sirens blare in his head as he shouts to the figure. "You get down on the ground with your hands on your head right now! We have authorization to use lethal force if you do not comply and we will drat sure use it if your stupid rear end takes one more step towards that fence! This is your first and final warning!" His hand rests on the gun at his side, ready to whip it up in a flash if this turns out to be just as bad as he fears. Per - 13 Danger Sense

Marion Tipplepot - Humvee South "Well looks like not much book reading tonight." She says sadly as she puts the Hummer into gear and starts going a more reasonable speed up north. There wasn't much time she thought till whatever it was that was stalking them would come out. Marion and the crew burst through the fog going toward the northern fence. Tonight was going to be the night. She looks at Morris and the others, "Get your firearm ready that is all we can do. Don't fire till something goes bad." She looks down and thinks, I hope we can stop it.

Eddie -- In the Humvee Eddie felt the shiver of adrenaline as the chatter started coming fast and furious over the radio. As Marion hit the gas to get them up to--... up to whatever was happening -- Eddie drew his big .357 and checked the cylinder to confirm it was loaded. He listened as James and Marion advised Morris on how to handle himself against the unknown, but Eddie felt that they were leaving out one key piece of advice... especially in light of the chatter over the radio of Nick going off by himself. "Most important thing, Morris... Stay together. I don't care what happens, you stay with whoever you're assigned to, 'cause at the same time you're watching their back, they're watching yours. Got it?"

Morris He reaches for his gun again, this time drawing it and chambering a round in a fluid motion even as Marion kicks the vehicle into gear. Morris frowns as he looks at the thing in his hands - so small, yet so deadly; so much of his own life lost due to having used it before. Tonight maybe he'd at least get to use it for something good. He could hope for that at least, right? As Eddie speaks, Morris nods slowly. "I know how that is." A pause, and then: "Just, you guys point me where you need me. I'll do the rest."

North End The dark, human shaped shadow moves closer to the fence. Before any of the assembled people can see what it is, they hear the sound of feet moving in water logged shoes. The shape continues to move towards the fence. Whatever it is that approaches shows no sign of heeding the warnings given to it. The impulse to shoot is strong, but no one uses their guns. Curiosity overcomes their concern for danger. The thing steps up and grabs the fence. Alexei shines his face at the thing at the fence. The identity of the thing becomes clear. It is their former coworker Jared. His clothes are soaked and ruined by water, while the pale white skin on his face looks as though it is hanging loosely on his face. His eyes bulge out of their sockets and his purple colored tongue fills part of his mouth. He tries to say something, but the only thing that comes out is a small stream of water out of his mouth. Humvee The others make their way to the north side of the property. In the fog they see the head lights of the other vehicle, but they don't see the vehicle itself.

Marion Tipplepot - Humvee "Look there they are!" She says on seeing the lights in the fog. She bit her lip and looked at Eddie in the seat next to her. This was the moment of truth. She realizes that the backpack is in the back, but the book is under her seat. Well at one thing was reliable for her. She picks up the book and slows the hummer until it can slowly reveal the other one in front of her. "I hope we can get rid of this without too much trouble." She didn't know what the book would do, but it was her only weapon she could think of against the ignominious Mary. "Does anyone else see anything?" She asks the others.

Sean - North Fence Sean doesn't flinch at the grotesque appearance of his former coworker. He doesn't react in any way except to raise his aim to land on the walking corpse's head, steady his aim, and put three bullets in it's brain. Taking aim for two more seconds, then unloading a three-round burst into Jared's head. ES is 13 + 1(Bracing) + 1(AoA Determined) + 2(Acc) + 2(Extra Aim) - 2(Distance) - 7(Skull) = 10. Isaac He squints into the fog as the figure ignores his warnings and steps closer. With his hand now firmly on his holstered gun, he holds off just long enough to get a good look at whoever, or whatever, this intruder is. Narrowed eyes then widen in surprise as he all too easily recognizes the man that shambles towards them. There is barely time for a word, or even much thought, before the two men next to him decide to shoot first and ask questions later. And this is one course of action he is not going to argue with. That's not him. Mary took him. He's one of them . Put him out of his misery. You would want the same... "Keep an eye out for more of them!" he says to Alexei and Sean. "There's gotta be more of...whatever the gently caress this is." It's not Jared. It's not. Worry over the living and put the dead where they belong. And dead men need to be in the ground, so that's where he'll put Jared. Reaching for his gun, he attempts to bring it up in one smooth motion and to take aim, steeling his mind and fighting off the shake in his hands as he does so. Fast-drawing gun then aiming. North end Alexei fires three bullets into zombie Jared's chest. The rounds hit the water logged body doing little damage to the torso. Sean then fires three rounds to Jared's head, which causes Jared's head to explode like a watermelon filled with firecrackers. None of Jared's former head lands on anyone, but bits and pieces are scattered all over the ground. Isaac then senses danger. At first he assumes its what he had previously predicted, but then he realizes the danger is coming from behind them. Looking behind, he sees the lights of the other humvee. Humvee Marion pushes on the brake and reaches for the book. Before she can do anything with the book, she notices that the brakes aren't working.

Marion Tipplepot - Humvee "Oh no. This can't be happening. Don't do this right now." She leaves her foot off the gas and tries to steer it slightly. "The brakes don't work!" She is starting to genuinely panic. Marion tries to avoid the Hummer parked in front of her. She decides to just pick a side of it to go. She didn't know what to do, she was always so careful, this didn't happen to people. This happened on highways and then you could coast. This was too fast to coast. "Um, what do we do. Which side of the Hummer do we go?" She looks at the other, her mind too full of thoughts and worries to react now. It was at that moment that the Hummer in front of them started to come into view that Marion Tipplepot really started to panic.

Isaac Even with all the gruesome sights he's seen up to this point in his life, he still recoils as the head of the man who had once been Jared explodes under the hail of gunfire. "loving Christ." He lowers his own gun slightly, but with his hands still tight and ready to swing it up again. "It wasn't him... He was one of them. Would've stopped and done what I said if there was even a shred of him left." He looks to Sean and Alexei. "Do me a favour and do the same to me if ever I become-" He gestures with his gun to the corpse. "That. Christ...Jared. As if you running off wasn't enough, now Nick's likely done the same drat thing." Warning signs grow louder in his head, in the familiar way they do when things get far too exciting for his tastes. He turns, seeing only the lights of the other humvee rather then anything he would immediately call dangerous. "I still feel something out here. Keep an eye out for more of Mary's friends. And Nick." Freeing a hand from his gun to his radio, he calls the other team whilst still keeping his eyes on what little he can see around him. #Isaac here. We've taken down J-... An intruder. I still think there are more. Keep an eye out. Guys, I'm more then certain this is our little swamp problem I was talking about. We're just ahead of you in the fog. Fog's thick, but don't shoot us by accident. Park alongside our humvee and we'll walk to you. Marion, get that book ready.# "Come on, let's meet up with the others and tackle this together."

Eddie -- In the Humvee It seemed to Eddie that Marion was coming in kind of fast, and for a moment he dismissed it as an attempt to hurry up and reach the other team to provide support against whatever threat they may have been facing. A moment later, however, Marion delivered her warning that the brakes were no longer working. "Motherfucker," he cursed, feeling the fear starting to rise. Taking a single deep breath, he shoved it back down and spoke in a clear, calm voice, knowing that Marion would also need to avoid panicking if they wanted to avoid a disaster. "Put your foot on the emergency brake and press down, and start steering left-right, left-right, left-right." At the same time, Eddie reached over and downshifted the Humvee into low gear. They needed to slow the vehicle before they plowed into the other team, and this was the way to bleed off the speed.

Marion Tipplepot - Humvee She put her foot on the emergency brake and starts steering left to right as Eddie instructed. "I've never had this happen, I mean. This is the kind of thing you hear about in the movies, but never really happening." Marion also had to make a choice, on one side was the spooky swamp that wanted to devour her the other side were possibly be the other group. She didn't know which side to pick and secretly hoped it wouldn't matter. Mentally Marion chooses one side and hopes it is right. Maybe they won't need to do anything. The Car was slowing down, or at least felt like it. She gave a ragged smile to Eddie and kept on going left, right. Left, Right.

Morris "drat, drat, drat." As soon as Marion mentions the brakes, he braces against the seat in front of him with one hand, the other one tensely still gripping his pistol. "You got this," says Morris, trying to sound reassuring, but the nerves were definitely audible in his voice. "Keep a rhythm."

North end Marion steps on the emergency brake. The humvee slows down, but doesn't stop. The vehicle slides along on the slick grass going right towards the other humvee and the fence. Even with the ideas suggested by Eddie and applied by Marion, the vehicle doesn't seem like its going to stop until it hits something. Near the fence, the body of Jared slumps to the ground. "You killed Jared." A little girl's voice announces. Her tone has a disapproving tone to it like a teacher telling a student they did poorly on a test. "He was unarmed too. What cowards you are."

"Stop doing this to me. Stop! Stop! Stop!" She shouts in her head, while maintaining her composure. "Oh no, I'm going to keep us all out of harms way, okay?" She had to do it. North End "Is that fear I hear in your voice?" Mary's voice can be heard, but there's no sign of her. "Are you too scared to face what is on this side of the fence? Perhaps you should be. Since I was done with Jared, he became my harbinger. I am done with games and taunts." Marion manages to avoid the other humvee and her coworkers. She loses control of the vehicle and the back end slides to the left. The vehicle hits the fence and pushes through the fence. Several posts are knocked out of the ground. In two spots the fencing breaks with the section of fence that does break wraps the left side of the humvee. As the people in the humvee react to the crash, several dark shapes approach from the north. Humvee crashed and broke the fence. The doors on the driver's side of the humvee can not be opened.

Isaac He stopped walking towards the other humvee as it gave no sign of slowing down and the nagging warning signs in his head grew louder and louder. At first, he suspected whoever was driving hadn't seen them yet, but as it got closer and his inner warning gave him just enough time to quickly dodge out of the way of the headlights, he could see by the quick look he got of Marion behind the driver's wheel that she must not have any control. "Son of a bitch!" he says, spinning around as the humvee skids past them and straight into the fence, taking down their primary defence against any more swamp creatures that might not have already made it over. Before the crashed humvee even comes to a stop, he's already dashing at full speed towards them, even if he might like to rush back to his own humvee for his rifle. The handgun will serve well enough and any time spent getting it will just be more time for any more intruders to sneak up on the others. "Alexei! Sean! Help me watch out for them as they get outta there! Keep both eyes on the fog between them and the swamp!" Coming up on the sight of the crash, he catches movement past it and spots the dark shapes approaching from the north. "More intruders north! Gotta be more loving creatures from the swamp!" He frees a hand briefly from his grip on the gun and pops open both passenger doors on the side not covered in fencing. "Out quickly. Jared -or what was left of him- was the intruder we took down, and more of Mary's friends are coming!" Taking position behind the front of the humvee, he raises his gun, aims and waits for the targets to get close enough for a better shot. Standing by the newly wrecked humvee and aiming.

Morris "Alright, you got-" Morris starts to say in a rather impressed tone as the Humvee clears the worst of the potential things it could have hit. But then it goes just a little wrong, the massive vehicle fishtailing and sliding violently right through the fence. Morris tries to brace, though he still gets knocked around a little bit. He unbuckles as soon as the thing stops moving, and checks on everyone quickly. "Hey, yo. Up and out of the car, quick." He tries the door and finds that it is less compliant than he expected. Then again, nothing today had been what Morris expected, not in the least. And he got the distinct feeling that was not about to change. "drat. Everyone out the other side. C'mon!"
