I'll be there too!

When I saw them four years ago in West Palm Beach, I was an idiot and spent too much time trying to write down the set list as they played. This time, I'm not taking my eyes off the stage. I'm sure someone else will put up a set list like two minutes after it's over anyway.

The run of shows come off the back of their eighth studio release, 2011's The King Of Limbs, but unlike their recent festivals shows - where they have focussed heavily on new material - the band will use these long-overdue shows as a chance to "showcase the band's multi-decade career in an aural and visual celebration."

Booyah Aussies, its time for 3 different versions of creep. Also I hope there's costume changes as the eras progress - blonde wigs etc

That contradicts what Ed (and Thom) said, which is that it'll be mostly TKOL material on this tour... but Ed's been wrong before..

Just caught this: someone just posted on Atease saying there would be two new songs tonight, "Cut a Hole" and "Skirting on the Surface", without a source. But I just saw it got deleted within a minute or two, which is rather suspicious... hm...

I just got back from the show. That set list posted is almost exactly 100% correct. All except for mother loving Jigsaw. They did not play that, and I...ugh. It's my favorite song of theirs, and they didn't play it last tour...Whatever. Maybe next time...

But yeah, the new songs were played. They were alright, I guess. It's hard to get into a song you've never heard before.

edit: http://www.ateaseweb.com/2012/02/27...mi-live-report/

There's the full set list. They played most of TKoL, and a few older songs. Not a bad concert by any means, but I definitely would have liked to have heard more older material.

After eight long years since their last Australian show, Radiohead will be gracing our shores this November.

Triple j and Chugg Entertainment revealed this morning that the five piece ensemble will perform their first concerts here since 2004, on tour for their latest album, The King of Limbs.

The group promises a live show that “will showcase the band’s multi-decade career in an aural and visual celebration... transfom[ing] their creations into an experience both towering and incandescent.”

I am incredibly keen to go to this if I can get tickets

As a youth I prayed, "Give me chastity and continence, but not yet."

Managed to snag tickets for me and 3 friends in the pre-sale for their New Zealand show in November. They haven't played a show in this country for something like 14 years, which was before I started listening to them. Needless to say I'm pretty amped. It's going to be a long 9 months...
But I saw Bon Iver last night, City and Colour are playing in April and Florence + the Machine in May, so it's shaping up to be a good year for live music down under.

Here's Identikit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dFEpQ6iObaM I like this one. Cool percussion, interlaced vocal harmonies (rare in RH these days!), and lovely guitar work. Great 80s synths too. This feels pretty fresh to me.

Here's Cut a Hole: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9EI7xoNVyc Slow, creepy, not that interesting yet imo.

And here's Meeting in the Aisle: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uauFfn8IYSU This is a boring OKC b-side. Why'd they play it.

yeah meeting in the aisle was from left field. Good show, but they didn't play that much old stuff like Reinanigans said. No Everything in it's right place, no paranoid android, NOTHING from The Bends, no Creep (ok didn't expect that, but you never know).....and the new songs were cool to hear but when you are listening to a new song you don't know what the gently caress. third radiohead show for me, but nothing will compare to that 2006 Bonnaroo set.

Yeah, it seems that them saying the new tour would be 'a new Radiohead' (not a 'best of' tour) was true, which is great news! I know it's selfish of me but whenever I see them I'm bored by pretty much anything pre-Kid A... old news, grandads!! play them TKOLs!!

Int Bands come out here less often so they're more inclined to throw a bit of back catalogue in. In fact I wasn't sure if they were ever going to come out here again due to the whole carbon thing. I expect it'll be In Rainbows/TKOL heavy since that stuff came out since the last time but they'll mix it up a bit more, and maybe reinterpret their old stuff to freshen it up.

I really hope they manage to come back to North America some time soon. I was holding off getting tickets to a show in say... Florida hoping they'd be playing around my area (Philadelphia) but I'm getting more and more worried that that won't happen in the near future.

Yeah, it seems like they're not hitting most of the country like they had on the previous tours in 2001, 2004, and 2008. I don't know what to expect. It would be nice if they explicitly said if this was just the first leg or not.

I'm tempted to not listen to the new tracks as they might show up on an album eventually but reasons not to do this:

- could be years before they do another album
- I'll see them live in the UK anyway potentially doing new songs if they ever actually announce dates
- they might not remotely resemble any finished track
- the idea of spoilers in music is retarded

Personally, I'd rather know the new songs before I hear them in a live environment. That way you're less concerned with trying to make sense of what you're hearing (do I like this?!) and more able to focus on enjoying the performance.

There's always the Videotape Clause [tm]; whereby it's possible to get fixated on an early / superior live version in order to ruin your enjoyment of the final version

Personally I've felt the most unreasonably burned by Colin's bass outro to Down is the New Up being dropped from the final version

I'm glad they played Kid A though, seems like it'll be a wacky mix'n'match setlist tour

Here's a better quality Cut a Whole. I think this can shape up to be an amazing album song, when it can be mixed better than in a live setting. There's a lot of depth in the timing and notes for the last minute.

Also a new, better quality Identikit. Play the gently caress out of those synths, thom!

YES! I managed to navigate the piece of poo poo that is Ticketek and snag myself 4 tickets for the Brisbane show. My computer took slightly longer than my phone to load the page, about 10 seconds. By that time the allocation was exhausted.

Crazy.

Slim chance here, but are there any Brisbane Goons with a ticket to any of the Sydney shows. I'm in the reverse situation and thinking that a swap might be in order if it was more convenient.
