I dunno, seemed more 'old school hits' last night in Houston than I remember from the In Rainbows tour. Lots more screaming from the recognition of older songs. I think I preferred the last tour tho. Yorke was having a time hitting those high notes on Airbag.

Light show, as always, was amazing. More weed than a Grateful Dead show.

I was just curious how your setlist differed from mine based on your description. I guess it depends on your definition of "old school," but 70% of your show was from the last two albums or non-album/new tracks.

The In Rainbows tour was a little more diverse IIRC. This tour has a definite focus on a specific aspect of the band's sound. Expect to hear mostly percussion-centric songs and most of those being very repetitious and minimalist. I would have liked a broader spectrum of songs but it's not a huge deal really. I was surprised at the exclusion of some songs though. 15 Step was one I thought would be a dead ringer.

Made it a huge surprise to hear Karma Police and Street Spirit though, after 2 hours of clickity clickity boom clickity clickity boom

It seems like Ed wasn't wrong for once - this is the "new live Radiohead"!

I'm not sure why, but IR, TKOL and HTTT material form a trilogy in my head. I'd almost prefer not to hear anything older on this tour. Ruins all the clickity boom. And frankly I'd be happy to attend a gig where they just played Feral for 2 hours.

Besides, as a big RH loser nerd I'm bored of the 'classic' stuff anyway, but that's quite selfish of me and I know the majority(?) of fans attending concerts probably want to hear Just and Fake Plastic Trees.

I think most of Amnesiac and Kid A reflect the trancelike rhythmic minimalism of the new TKOL era stuff more than anything from HTTT.

Right, and on paper IR is more like OKC than TKOL or HTTT, but I still group it with them. It's nothing to do with chronology and more the weird, dark swagger those albums seem to have, and the kruatrocky rhythms... but maybe they just seem fresher because they're younger!

Sonofabitch. Looks like the only chance I'm gonna have at seeing radiohead on this tour (or maybe ever) is bonaroo. Looks like I'll be there with all the loving 17 year olds tripping balls on acid. Whatever though, that setlist looks pretty drat good to me. If they close with Street Spirit ima bust a nut. The only song that closed an album that I think I'd like to hear more for a concert closer is The Tourist. Also, The Daily Mail is one of my favorite radiohead songs of all time so that may also be worth braving bonaroo. Anyone see them last time they did bonaroo?

W.A.S.T.E. presale 3/8, apparently, with public sale on 3/10 (via Ticketmaster or whatever).

So do I need to squat on some corner of the internet mashing f5 to have a hope of a slim chance to get a Tuesday night ticket? And how do you get in on the WASTE presale?

Babies.

Is there a particular time that the WASTE presale goes on sale? I remember in college my friend had a program that refreshed the radiohead.com site every like 45 seconds and if it was changed, it alerted him. It alerted him at like, 3:45 AM, and he still was only able to get like, lawn seats.

Or is it a bit more sane, and it's at 10 AM, like most on-sale times?

Yeah, what time have they generally gone on sale for this tour? Also, where will it appear on the site? Is it on the ticket sales part and you just click on the date and there will be a place to buy them right on that page? I'm just trying to plan this as efficiently as possible since I know it will be impossible to get tickets for any of these shows anyways...

EDIT: and is it March 8th GMT or EST?

They have gone onsale any time from around 10:00 GMT (2006 tour) to 14:00 GMT (2008 tour) to 13:00 GMT (current tour). It's never exactly on the hour or anything, and yes, the best way to get tickets is to keep monitoring it obsessively. Annoying, maybe, but I've never had any problem getting floor or very close seated tickets to Radiohead.

Yeah, Atlanta had a nice, open floor as well. It's very rare to go to a big show like that where they don't oversell it. It was nice.

...I'm sorry for your loss.

Late to the party, but I was at the Tampa show last week. It was a killer set, although I am a bit jealous that Houston got Paranoid Android and Twisted Words. Some random thoughts:

First, don't be hating on Meeting in the Aisle. It was a real fun song live, and Thom was prancing around like a goober and making funny faces during it.

I let out a very loud "OMIGOD" when Thom began singing True Love Waits. Then it transitioned into a fantastic rendition of Everything in its Right Place, but man, was that a tease.

There was one point where Thom kept accidentally walking into the microphone in between songs. He is a silly man.

I think somebody here asked about how Feral sounds live? I thought it sounded fan-loving-tastic. But I apparently like TKoL more than anyone else on the planet, so I may be a bit biased. I just love the gently caress out of Phil's drumming and the Portishead dude really adds a lot to the band.

Finally, from a visual perspective, the ever-shifting monitors were a great addition to the live show. Seriously, if you can go see them, do it.

The melody of Skirting on the Surface is really great, but I'm sure I've heard an earlier of it that was a lot more upbeat. I'm not sure it works as well slowed down.

Loving the new songs so far though. One of my favourite parts of following Radiohead's career is trying to guess what direction they're heading in next.
