Ballz posted:They already made a post dedicated to the guy who died. They were gonna have to talk about the tour status at some point. It's just odd the way it was written is all. The collapse also destroyed the [Scott Johnson] – this [Scott Johnson] was unique and will take many weeks to replace. The collapse also caused serious damage to our [Scott Johnson], some elements of which are decades old and therefore hard to replace. Whilst we all are dealing with the grief and shock ensuing from this terrible accident [to Scott Johnson] there are also many practical considerations to deal with & consequently we have to try and reschedule the following shows:

Goddamn it, I suddenly hate living in Toronto. I've never seen them live and was super pumped for this concert I am still hoping they decide to try to do a concert here at the end of their tour or something but I am pretty skeptical considering they probably hate Toronto now and they also hate travelling.

Thom Yorke of Radiohead fame is even heard to claim, in a bootleg recording of a live performance in a TV show (1995), that this is the "sexiest song that was ever written." The band then played a rock cover of the song.

Rescheduled European dates are up:quote:We have new dates for the postponed shows. No word on Toronto, although from what I've heard (from a few industry people I know) it's pretty loving unlikely they'll be coming back here before the next tour. Also remind me never to visit any radiohead fansites again, since apparently expressing hope that they'll eventually reschedule Toronto is "super insensitive" and "selfish" (the other European dates are fine, though)

in the context of the rest of a typical Radiohead set, Treefingers is wildly out of place and I imagine pace-killing. What this seems like to me is they used Treefingers as an introduction to the first encore? Did they actually PLAY it or was it just playing as they came back on stage?

(or Fitter Happier, or Hunting Bears*) Although I guess it makes more sense they played Treefingers at the start of the encore rather than in the middle of the set? * I think in the last tour they actually played Hunting Bears once or twice, but it was usually to end a song

Seems like something where you'd only need Johnny (or maybe Ed) on stage for while the rest of the band gets a beer or takes a piss or whatever it is they do back stage between sets. The real big question is: was it the version from Kid A or the extended version found on the Memento soundtrack? Because one can never have enough Treefingers. robodex posted:* I think in the last tour they actually played Hunting Bears once or twice, but it was usually to end a song Yeah, they've done Hunting Bears a couple of times on this tour, as an outtro to The National Anthem. robodex posted:Yeah, it'd be like if they came on and starting playing Pulk/Pull or Feral. (or Fitter Happier, or Hunting Bears*) It's nothing like that. Pulk and Feral are both percussion and rhythm centric songs, and are way more intricate and energetic than Treefingers. Treefingers is just...there. It's a good song to play as the band comes on stage but it's kinda weird to throw the full, 4 minute drone inbetween Paranoid Android and Give up the Ghost. They played it well though. It sounds great, it just seems like too much of a stumble for that late in a setlist for my own personal preferences. the Bunt fucked around with this message at Jul 12, 2012 around 03:07 |

If Austin Brock is right in his latest Facebook status, you should be able to watch Radiohead's next performance at the Optimus Alive Festival here: http://www.everythingisnewtv.com/ If you were wondering, it is a Brazilian festival. Apparently they are live in less than 15 mins. The accuracy of this is uncertain. Edit: the interview going on right now is saying that no, the band is not being streamed. Bummer. I ended up watching it the other day since I didn't see them in Toronto, but wanted to see how their stage set-up was compared to In Rainbows. Also, Austin Brock is a God, he finds the most amazing recordings. It'd be a sad day if he's ever forced to take his stuff down ![]() \/\/ Oh, that's awesome. I know that Radiohead is also one of the more recorded bands as far as bootlegs/live recordings go, and I'm pretty sure they acknowledge that as well. Does anyone happen to remember a real old quote from Thom about Street Spirit being like some spiritually devastating song to play that he could barely ever do it? It's a ridiculously melodramatic quote and thinking of it makes me kinda happy that he obviously doesn't take himself and his music so seriously and maudlin anymore.
