Guys, it happened, I'm a degenerate gambler. I've said I won't bet against the Mavs, but I took Suns +.5 3Q and won easy money - so I immediately took the winnings and laid in on the Mavs ML for penance.

Yep I am going to get hosed again tonight. I need Nash to get 1 more assist (if they even put him back in) to possibly break even for the game.

I'm ending up okay tonight with my plays on the WAC looking to come through. Dunno why I decided to start getting into Big 12 and SEC play today. I've made all my money in the west, but all those games start to look like Candy sometimes I guess. Stick with what you're good at.

I highly suggest Saint Joseph's -2 today. A10 Tournament against St.Bonaventure. SJU *needs* this game for a shot at the tournament. Last week they played the bonnies: - On Senior Night with one of the best players in school history playing in his last home game. - On a court the Bonnies have lost 1 conference game all year (Temple) and had beaten everybody else by double digits. The Hawks lost 98-93. But all it took for SBU was: - 2 comebacks of 6 plus points with under a minute to play in regulation and OT1. - 31 points from Nicholson - A miracle 3 with 2 seconds left in OT - 3 SJU starters fouling out Now they meet on a neutral court with SJU's tourney lives hanging in the balance, with revenge on their mind. Hawks loving ROLL today.

This is an argument against Bonaventure...?

This is an argument against Bonaventure...? Bonaventure is not getting into the tournament unless they cut down the nets. SJU still has a shot at an at large bid if they can reach the final. I'm not saying Bonaventure isn't a good team...but they're a different squad on their home court. They don't have that advantage this time around. Not trying to complain, but the officiating was questionable the last game. I realize it can be that way today as well, it's just a fact. Phil Martelli is a great coach, one of the more underrated coaches in the nation, I doubt he's going to let one guy beat them like Nicholson did twice in just over a week. Did you see the three pointer that won SBU the game last Wedesnday? That's not so much being good in a dire situation as it is being lucky. I'm not gonna blast you and say you're an idiot like some other people here, but you're really taking what I'm saying out of context. SBU had a ton of luck last wednesday and barely beat SJU at a place where nobody has come close to beating them all year (save Temple). It was a TERRIBLE spot for SJU as evidenced by the 5 point line vegas set on the game, and SJU still should have won the game. I don't see SJU losing today. I may be wrong because as I mentioned, SBU is a really solid team and they can come out and beat SJU today because of that. But With the circumstances I don't see it.

St Joe's maybe should have beat them. Well, they didn't. St Joe's is playing for revenge. Bonaventure is playing with the knowledge they have already beat St Joe's after they were in a bad spot and they probably feel like they can do it again. St Joe's needs wins for an at-large berth. So did Illinois, Northwestern, Oregon, Washington, USF, Seton Hall, et al. The A10 tournament is definitely going to be one to watch.

Both teams are motivated so disregard any revenge - situation side. Instead just look at the statistics. The senior night game @StBona: Nicholson scored 32 (avg 18/gm). Bonaventure shot 55.5% from 3 that night 10-18 (avg 34.4% this year) resulting in a net 12-15 points they don't normally see from outside the arc. St. Joes had 22 fouls in that game (avg 15/gm this year) and lost two players to foul outs along with another starter who had 4. If St. Joes brings the same game to a friendlier court, then Bonaventure has to repeat their performance as senior night on a less friendly court, and pray they get fouled that much again. I sure as hell wouldn't get in front of the hawks.

Sweet loving jesus that final "shot" Really can't believe SJU lost 2 must win games in 9 days to a team I THOUGHT they were better than...guess I was wrong. Nicholson once again buries the gently caress out of them. The future looks really bright for SJU as they don't even have a senior...but I highly doubt I can act like I give a gently caress about the NIT after these past 2 losses. Just awful.

My homer rarely comes out in my picks but it did today with it being such a big game. I would have played SJU anyway; but the reason I was so confident was because I had the stubborn feeling that they wouldn't lose twice in a row to the same team under must win circumstances. Young team though. You could tell at points in this game.

I don't bet often, but I put $100 on the FSU/UM game with the news that Miami's leading scorer Durand Scott is out. Miami played like absolute dogshit last night against the hapless George Tech. A 3 point spread seems like nothing.

1-1 tonight. The Bobcats had all the things in place for them to snatch a win and they still failed miserably. Meanwhile, the Nuggets own. I'm really liking two plays tomorrow. One definite play (been eyeing it for days) and one strong lean. Starting the blog made me responsible with my picks. Just hang in there goons. We'll retrieve all our losses back.

My second go-around at 5dimes isn't going much better than the first, I blame the Pac-12. But even if I remain horrible at betting, I figure giving $50 a month to 5dimes is worth just as much entertainment as anything else I would spend it on.
