I think even Rio must know his days of playing in tournaments are over.

Englands future is so bright, I have to wear shades. If they pick [my teams 18 year old player with 4 PL appareances and a hat trick against a league two side in the Carling Cup] in stead of poo poo Players like Gerrard and Lampard England will be destined for Great Things.

I like that line-up Paperhouse except for Smalling maybe. Probably a bit too inexperienced/mistake prone still. He hasn't been able to dislodge Evans yet for us and Evans is always a liability it seems. Except for injuries and being a bit slower Rio is still top class to me. He is very cool on the ball and has great timing on tackles. He rarely is the reason we give up goals.

I think Gerrard still has a role to play in the England midfield, he's shown he's willing to play deeper & more disciplined for Liverpool, and even with his shredded groin he can still make a bursting run forward. I'd honestly rather him retire from international duty but there's no way he does before the Euros.

Is shredded groin good in a stir fry?

Smilin' Glen Johnson had some nice words for Capello:quote:Sad news to see Capello step down. Good man and a Good manager. #ThanksForEverything Didn't go as far as Rooney did as far as identifying a replacement.

Smalling's been our best CB for me this season so I put him in because I'm biased as heck. see also: Oops I'm Michael Carrick carrick should actually play though and I do agree that Gerrard would be the best to take of all those old players. I'd bring him along

Whoever picks the team has to be an absolute maniac not to bring Gerrard IMHO The England side should be built around Rooney and Gerrard. It's the only chance they have of being successfull with this squad instead of daydreaming about Jones, AOC and Cleverley and other teenagers with barely any club experience.

I think it's bang out that players can have their say on who the next manager should be on Twitter. If they all come out saying how much they want it to be Redknapp and it turns out not to be, the dude's undermined from day minus one.

Thank God this fool has finally hosed off - just a shame it wasn't immediately after that abysmal World Cup showing that the tactical genius led us through. The way he just chucked it in months before a major tournament shows that he never really gave a gently caress, was just a pay-day for him really. Never even came to watch a game in the North East even when we had Henderson and Bent and they had Carroll. His reign has been a complete waste of time, thanks for nothing Fabio now gently caress off. As for replacements - no Foreign Myths please. I'd take Hiddink though because he's got a lot of experience managing national teams and knows what he's doing in knock-out competitions. Could do worse than O'Neill too - look at the impact he's had with us, if he had a similair impact with England we could actually win something. Obviously I hope that doesn't happen. 'Arry seems nailed on and I actually think he will do OK - he's a twat but I'd support him and wish him well.

Capello is, was, and always will be too good for our loving shitsmear footballing press and the neanderthal En-Ger-Land fans. I'm glad he quit and held onto his principles and dignity (even though falling on your sword for John loving Terry is a bad joke). I hope Harry gets the job, takes the old boys network to Polkraine and we get thrashed out of the group. gently caress.
