I really don't know. I've heard MGMT is kind of lackluster live, but I still love them and I need to see them.

MGMT was one of the top three performances I saw at Lolla 08 (along with NIN and Radiohead, slightly ahead of Does it Offend You, Yeah?), but that was at the height of their Time to Pretend popularity, and the crowd was super, super into it, which is probably what made it so great. I dunno how they've been live since, though.

I have to work that day (I work at otto pizza right down at the bottom of Munjoy, half the people I work with are going to the show and it's going to be a shitshow oh boy) otherwise I was going to go out on my buddies boat and hopefully watch the show from there. Really jealous of all those people with apartments that are literally looking right at the stage. Some of them have balconies that they could watch the entire thing from.

Yeah, that would be one of the apartments that my mother has, although the best view would actually be from her roof I think, and it would be pretty badass since it's unobstructed. I'm actually pretty m'eh about the whole thing though, to be honest, even though it's happening so close.

Also you really work at that Otto's? Good god, that's frighteningly close to where I live. You've probably even seen me around since I'm always getting coffee at the CBD near there or gas at the 7/11 or whatever.

I personally don't care for the music but I usually get Saturday's off and had access to a boat so I figured why not. I don't even think we'd be able to hear the music from down there, honestly.

This is the happiest moment of my life. No wait, this is. No wait, this is.

Osheaga day 1 was pretty great. MGMT was the top performance of the day for me; the crowd was pretty into it and all of their popular Oracular Spectaculor songs had the crowd chanting lyrics. Justice was alright but as an end of thr night performance didn't particularily blow me away; I left during D.A.N.C.E. super-extended-live-mix. Today I'm mostly excited for ASAP Rocky and Snoop "Dogg" Lion.

Here's hoping. Apparently walk off the earth (lol) said weather permitting they'd be on stage at 730 when originally they were scheduled at 650 so they might be bumping everyone back...

I got loving hammered friday and ended up dancing with the Dum Dum Girls to Justice. Took it a bit easier yesterday but I'm going hard tonight. Secret lawn far side of the wood stair case is the place to be for the main stage sets!

God loving damnit. I'm sorry to hear this. Getting to see alabama shakes' is literally a unicorn situation. They've came by twice, each time their tickets sold out in seconds and going for retarded levels of scalping.

Nobodys festivals should be cancled ever. However take solice its not all points west levels yet.

I'm so glad that YouTube is streaming Lollapalooza. Jack White's performance and back-up band is pretty different from his performance at Firefly just weeks ago. Black Stripes on white and an all-female band.

It is similar in this new "blue" and "mourning" stage he's in. Very neat to see.

Edit: link to stream

A shitload of my friends are going. I'm not going. For me, it's a combination of financial situation (gently caress I'm still broke from Bonnaroo) and lack of enthusiasm for the lineup. They're super excited though.

Is that a new festival? I've haven't heard of it before a month or two ago.

Yea it's new, this is their first year - I've never been to any music festival but it sounds pretty awesome to me. I'm super excited about the lineup, which is how I justified buying a ticket. They've been advertising like mad though, I went to Athens, GA a few months back and saw Gnarnia stickers all over town, and every time I go to a bar in Asheville someone is there handing out stickers.

I hope it's awesome

PS, among other things, there is bicycle jousting.

I highly doubt the authenticity of "Weeping Elvis." They claim to have accurately gotten the scoop on last year's headliners a week after a Bonnaroo insider leaked them on Inforoo.com. This same insider has leaked the headliners for the past three years.
