The cutscenes are awesome in Twin Snakes but the first person shooting makes the game too easy. Whichever he can get his hands on is fine but while I still love MGS1 it is pretty dated and I'm not sure if I'd love it as much if I hadn't played it as a child.

I'm gonna give the entire series a replay, should i play it chronologically or in order of release? I haven't played 1 or 2 since i was about 9 (10 years ago) so it would be like playing them for the first time.

The in-jokes make more sense this way and if you try to play 1 or 2 after playing 3 or Peace Walker you are going to have a hard time getting used to the old controls.

I was expecting the Chrysalis fight to be a pain in the rear end in terms of difficulty, going by previous boss fights in Peace Walker but it was actually a breeze. And a lot of fun to boot. Up until that point I hadn't used Chaff Grenades for anything, but I had one weapon slot open so I figured what the hell. In a wonderful demonstration of Metal Gear logic, they completely immobilized the boss and helped me a whole bunch to get through it. Honestly, one of my favorite things about Metal Gear games is wondering if something would work because it would kinda make sense, and without fail it always does. I think my cousin has the original version, MGS4 and a PS3 so I'll probably play the original over TTS. Also, I'm preparing for the final Main Ops mission in Peace Walker and how the hell am I meant to get head parts for Zeke? Which boss should I take on to earn parts and what weapons should I use against them?

Lt Jon Kavanaugh posted:Also, I'm preparing for the final Main Ops mission in Peace Walker and how the hell am I meant to get head parts for Zeke? Which boss should I take on to earn parts and what weapons should I use against them? Depends on what you want, at least kind of. If you just want to make the ZEKE head, you just need to go blow up whatever AI you feel like without targeting their head parts (the parts that are marked with the yellow S icon for Sense) and you should salvage head scraps after the battle. Assuming you don't graze the head, it shouldn't take you long to build a head. If you want one of the other AI heads, on the other hand, you need to leave the head almost entirely unscratched (>90% I think) and be fighting a Custom version of the AI. MkII fights might work, but I'm pretty sure they don't. After beating the fight, you'll roll a drop chance if you didn't damage the head too much and if you get lucky with the RNG you'll get a notice saying you got X HEAD PART. You only need to make the normal head to beat the game, and you only need one special head and Peace Walker's legs to get the associated achievement.

I've always liked to think of The Twin Snakes being Raiden's VR simulation of the Shadow Moses event. I know there is no much evidence to support it, barring a hidden VR triangle target hidden away in Rex's hangar though.

The whole legend of Solid Snake and it's the kind of thing he was talking about when he was saying the man doesn't match the legend. It is the story of Shadow Moses as everyone imagines it to be after hearing about it. "OH MAN AND THEN SNAKE TOOK OUT A TANK WITH JUST A GRENADE!!" Turns *He tossed a grenade into the hatch* into *HE TOTALLY BACKFLIPPED AND THREW A GRENADE RIGHT DOWN THE BARREL!* It's hilarious and so awesome. I would love to see a MGS1 remake and include a back and forth toggle for the cutscenes that goes between MGS1 and Twin Snakes. Sort of like the Halo Anniversary edition thing.

Almost picked up the collectors edition of this earlier today, but most stores are pretty low on stock and I would have had to drive across town. Anyway looked online and can't find a straight answer on this. If I have a PSP with a Peacewalker UMD copy, and then the HD Collection of PS3, can the two be linked for coop missions?

Why am I finding the armoured vehicles in Peacewalker so hard to defeat? I know that they were designed for multiplayer but taking more than 50 RPGs to defeat one after killing all of the soldiers is silly. Its taking almost an hour for each level. When I watch videos on youtube of people doing the same thing with the same weapons it takes 5 minutes. It was the same for me on the PSP too. What the hell am I doing wrong?

Maybe you have weaker star versions of those weapons? The damage output of weapons increases dramatically with each additional star.

I forgot to bring any rocket launchers and had to chip away at it with an M60 (AP), with no bandana.

Like people said, higher stars = more damage. Aim for the gas tanks and treads/wheels, they do more damage. When you blow up a gas tank, the vehicle stops for a bit for repairs. That's when you should heal/reload/call for supplies. What I like to do is blow up a gas tank, then lay an anti-tank mine in front of the vehicle. When it starts back up, it will drive over the mine and stop again for repairs. Repeat 5 times. If you have support strike markers, a good time to use them is when the vehicle is stopped for repairs. Remember you can heal yourself by going prone and waiting a bit. Do this inside of a building, where the vehicle can't shoot you.
