Basically you could treat Superstars or whatever you have it as a 'lets pretend' roster. You would have to book it yourself by changing the matches each week with whoever you wanted. Anybody can have any other belts but they are treated as little more than window dressing when they aren't set as major or minor.

Those rosters will be competing for the four championships you assign to that show.

I'll probably grab WWE'12 here once I get some cash free, but in the meantime I downloaded TEW 2005, which the developer has made available as freeware, and installed one of those "reality" mods in it. I then edited TNA so that I can run with the dream of buying Panda out, firing Hogan, Russo, etc., and turning Dixie Carter into an authority figure with a MILF gimmick that goes around backstage hitting on all the younger dudes.

It can be fun but it's definitely not a casual game--in the sense that you have to take notes and poo poo at times, so you can remember who has what title and what storylines and feuds you have going--when it comes to booking your shows. I think the latest version (2010) fixes some of those headaches, but it's also $35, so I figure I can live with 2005's (freeware) limitations for now.

Demand's incredibly small as it is, so the Mac demand is even lower. (it also still feels like it's Visual Basic programming, which isn't going to Mac any time soon) TEW 2007 just dropped below $10 in mid-January after starting at $35 and sitting at $25 for ages. Wrestling Spirit 2 has been $25 since it launched in 06, never seen a price drop. Ryland's the anti-Steam; crappy DRM, incredibly high prices with incredibly long waits between sales & even longer waits for price drops. That said if his stuff ever comes to Steam I'm buying all of it.

If BioWare ever finds themselves in dire financial straits, they could make some drat good money making a straight up eroge. Don't bet against it happening! It would still be better in every way - including combat, somehow - than the absolute shitheap that was DA2.

I tend to take a cautionary view towards any game that the developers use GIGGLESQUEE to describe its characters. E: I've been playing Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands AKA someone dun stole all our ladders. I love this game because whatever satisfaction you get from completing one climbing puzzle is completely destroyed by making you do one right after it. Kiwi Bigtree posted:I am not trying to whiteknight DA2, I just am genuinely curious why it gets Daikatana levels of hatred. I really don't want to turn this thread into, to coin a phrase, a BioWare shame bukkake, but I'll explain very briefly the issues I have with DA2. The BioWare thread in Games should probably suffice is more than this is needed. From a storytelling perspective, and I mean as far as the simplest, most basic storytelling principles are concerned, Dragon Age 2 is all wrong. All wrong, just loving all wrong entirely. Everything is telling instead of showing, and your companions are razor-thin Whedon archetypes, fulfilling your preferred niche - waifu, angst-riddled "change the world" dude, bad boy with a heart of gold, promiscuous girl (who will, in time, fall in love with you and only you). Then there's the actual gameplay, featuring perhaps the worst combat system to hit RPGs in a half decade or more. Waves of enemies teleport in, and the entire battle mechanic is built around doing area of effect damage, since your teammates can't be hurt by your attacks. There's no strategy to it - just clump up and cast a giant swirling inferno on your PC. Enemies who try to attack you will take damage and die, as you stand triumphant. And don't get me started on rogues loving teleporting. So the storytelling is terrible, and the gameplay impossibly worse. It's a game predicated on the idea of personal choice and freedom, but is instead replete with "BUT THOU MUST" railroading. The devs talked endlessly about how your actions would shape the city over the seven years of the game, but you literally make no difference whatsoever. The characters are, with a couple of exceptions, terrible, and the romances are creepier than anything else BioWare has ever done. There is nothing good about the game, except that it might serve as an example of what not to do. Sure, DA2 was rushed out the door, but when everything about the game is conceptually and in practice abysmal, no amount of time could have saved it. And Dragon Age 1 remains among my favorite games ever. And gently caress yeah Mass Effect 3 is gonna rule. In summation: ![]() Mike Laidlaw was the lead programmer for the game. ![]() Sheryl Chee was a writer for Dragon Age 2. And I always like to quote this Weekend Web done of the BioWare Social. http://www.somethingawful.com/d/wee...rums.php?page=1

I would have had less of a problem with DA2 if it didn't recycle environments so shamelessly. It got to the point where I didn't know where I was half the time, because there was only one cave design, one temple design, one warehouse design, etc.
