Oh, the gameplay's fine...it's just that the Road to Wrestlemania mode was poorly designed (many quicktime events in which you get pinned when you hit the prompt, plus all the backstage brawls) and written (Triple H buries the whole roster in the ring AND WCW gets jobbed out) AND their servers just gave up.

Yea, me and my friends still have fun in '12, it's just that the servers are dogshit and RtWM is loving abysmal. If you want a super accurate WWE simulation I'm pretty sure the game you want is 'have your friend's dad berate you for ten minutes then sucker punch you and declare himself the champ'.

Its Mechwarrior meets Steel Battalion. The combat isn't so ADD like it was in For Answer. I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing in the story mode, tho.

To those on the fence on the operation racooon city game, wait on it for awhile, its buggy as gently caress and most of the bugs seem to be concentrated in the online. Hell I just had one where I was completely immune to all forms of damage. Probably the only beneficial one that occurred.

Something funny about WWE12, a mixed tag match where Divas get bumped is an instant game over, but you can apparently have inferno matches with them. Vickie just won the championship by throwing Kelly Kelly through a wall of fire. Oh, also, the game has inferno matches at all? When the gently caress was the last time those were a thing?

It makes no sense that you do all these moves to reach whatever heat it needs to be to then go into a really slow dragging animation to win. It just kills the momentum.

I never enjoy when the environment restricts your ability to do moves or actions, If I want to run the flaming ropes and burn myself then I drat well should be able to!

The best "it makes no sense, but it's awesome" match in wrestling video games was the old Smackdown casket match. Being able to pick up the caskets and use them as weapons was just the funniest thing.

The best part is if your male wrestler gets knocked to the outside, the AI will still do the "durr attack guy standing on apron" and instantly DQ itself.

flashy_mcflash posted:Video game versions of inferno matches are bad because inferno matches are bad. It's a simulation! Yea it's impossible to make inferno matches good because they're bad matches. Yea, though, it does suck because you go from chaining moves together to make the flames bigger, then you have to slowly drag them over and you feel incredibly stupid. Like, why couldn't they do it like a Royal Rumble where you throw them into the ropes then fight with them to throw them over?

Inferno matches in the video game would be awesome if they did the stuff you can't do in real life. Let me burn guys horribly, let me set them on fire for real. Basically I want that ECW game they released on the Attitude engine.

I really wish they would put in more sliders that let you adjust the behavior of the AI, especially damage and recovery rates. I get that it makes things more dramatic to have guys get up and rush to push over a ladder, but damage just doesn't seem to mean anything in ladder/tlc matches. You can put someone through 20 tables, injure every specific body part until they're clutching everything, throw them outside of the ring, and they'll still pop right back up and run into the ring the second you step on the ladder. Also, I've gone from thinking the Community Creations hacks that let you put in real pictures are great to hating them since I can't see how good/bad the actual CAW is from a cursory glance anymore.
