Nah I don't agree with any of that. By watching something even passively you are participating in it, and plenty of games don't offer choice. Besides even if games aren't "Art" (and I don't care eithe way so let's not open that bag of worms) they are still consumer entertainment at the least and you still aren't guaranteed to like every piece of consumer entertainment you buy and nobody expects that stuff to change at the whims of the fans like I said before so nah I just completely disagree.

I think Bioware opened itself up to this kind of thing more than most companies would, and the main reason can be traced back to the last thing you see in ME3:

I would have a harder time with changing the ending if said ending weren't immediately followed by a commercial for more content that completely ignores the ending, and Bioware's made bank off of getting people to be invested in post-release content that largely ignores whatever story their games have already told, so they kind of set up the avenue that allows customers to complain about their ability to change poo poo.

That said, I dunno. At this point the whole thing is just kind of gross to me. Fans were right to complain and Bioware was right to stick to its guns, but creepy protesting fans and marketing reps figuring out how to make the most money off of this whole thing just makes it uncomfortable and depressing.

You're right, it started out as A DREAM.

Also Mario 2 was my favorite as well, if only because the P.A.L. I went to as a kid had an old-rear end NES-Game Arcade unit (I don't even know how that existed) that had Bubble Bobble, Mario 2, Balloon Fight, and the Mario VS. stage as a game (did this exist outside of this arcade machine?)

I just keep shaking my head in disbelief at the level of violent nerd rage and the sincere demands that BW go back and create more content that changes the game they already made. Mass Effect was an awesome series and ME3 was an awesome game that had a very bad ending.

The bad part of ME3 is about 10 minutes long. They tried to do something cool and they failed, it's definitely a disappointment but people act like it was some sort of personal insult. I just can't grasp how this can be such a Big loving Deal.

Uh because Bioware is going to create more content for the game and sell it anyway so why not make content people actually want to see (i.e. not such a lovely ending) and make a fat load of money?

I think they definitely jacked up the rate of dragon attacks in the last patch, because I get the same whenever I fast travel around too.

It's really not as scummy as it might look out of context. It just means that after the credits roll you're taken back to before you passed the point of no return and played the end stage. That way you don't have to start a new game if you want to go back and do sidequests and stuff that you didn't do on your initial runthrough. And when new DLC missions become available you can play them with your leveled-up character.

I played the first Mass Effect when it came out and really enjoyed it. I've held off on playing 2 until 3 came out so I could finish the saga back-to-back style, but the minor spoilers I've read that none of your gameplay decisions ultimately matter has given me pause and I'm considering not investing any time (or money) on it as a result. If Bioware does something that offers more closure and a more satisfying "ending" then I'm back on board, which amounts to a least two more sales for them.

I had no idea that Tali became some kind of nerd sex symbol to the Internet. In my play through I was horrible to her, accusing her of tampering with the engines and stealing stuff to take back to her people every chance I got. It was great.

Edit: I guess the lines have been drawn. You're either on Team "Let's gently caress With Tali" or Team "Let's gently caress Tali." I say screw that scavenging space ho.

I did, played it for hours at a friends house, liked it so much that I bought my own copy and I'm borrowing my brother's 360 to play it. Campaign is serviceable and the multi is amazing since you have to worry about more than just the people running around.

There is nothing wrong with wanting things to be better but there is a point where you just become a cycnical rear end in a top hat that hates everything that everybody can't stand because your constant complaining about how nothing is perfect makes you insufferable. I know, I was that rear end in a top hat for years. I try to be a little more accepting now.

I mean some people were saying they wanted to suplex dudes in Skyrim and you respond with 'too bad skyrim is bad ' Thats a great piece of input on the subject thanks for that.

And I would think that was a terrible decision of Doyle's and would prefer that games don't go down that road.
