When my vita displays pure black screens I notice some dark streaks, is this normal? [e] Apparently this is a common problem with this type of screen

Picked up my FEB and Wipeout. I also got a $20 PSN card but I'm not entirely sure what to get with it since I'm still using the 4gb memory card and have some psp stuff on it.

So now that it's out, what are the impressions so far about Escape Plan? Definitely worth 15? I'm interested, but I guess I'm just feeling a bit skittish about it right now.

Won't be getting my FEB until hopefully tomorrow, but I went ahead and added a bunch of goons. All this talk about it is making me wish I had been able to get it today! If anyone else wants to add me, add Dryzen on PSN.

So I got Wipeout multiplayer to work finally. It seems the trick is to just keep going into the Multiplayer until it works. Policenaut posted:LUMINES is the best loving thing ever and you should all at least try the demo. I bought it first thing when I turned on my Vita, not even playing the demo, and I've been on my first run at the game for an hour now. I can't believe how good this is. I have Uncharted and Hot Shots sitting next to me but I'm just sitting here chanting "EVERYTHING IS AUTOMATIC - AUTOMATIC NOW" along with the music. Thank you, Ubisoft.

I've been a huge fan of the games since it originally launched with the original PSP, and this is just an amazing continuation of the series. I look forward to being a massive bane of the meta-game World Block for a long time to come.

What makes it so much better than Lumines 2 or XBL? I tried the demo and the shuffle block was interesting but I don't know if I'd be willing to invest the time again on the game just because of one new block.

The combination of visuals and music is what's doing it for me. Unlike the other (non-Lumines 1) games in the series, they'll all various electronic songs. It might not work for everyone but there are moments when I'm just so into the game and I'm tapping on the back pad to get power and oh man the colors. The difficulty is really fine tuned too. It's my first run at the game and I haven't lost yet and whenever I think "this is it, this is the end" I get a shuffle or a storm block. Shuffle Block has saved my rear end like 5 times in the game I'm playing. Like I'll get to near the top and I'm running out of space and BOOM shuffle block's all YO and plants itself down and then ding-ding-ding half the board clears and I get a Trophy. I love you Shuffle Block.

I'm so glad my Vita doesn't get here until the 22nd. With all the stuff in this thread telling me how to do everything, I'll be able to get all my PSP games configured for the two sticks thing right off the bat and know what games are good and what games aren't! And I'm not just telling myself this to make myself feel better for having to wait a week!

The best part about lumines is when you close your eyes and you still see the blocks falling. When you place the system to sleep and you still hear the music.

I finally got a chance to play with a Vita yesterday, and man, is it a sexy piece of hardware. However, the analog sticks felt small, almost like my thumb was falling off of them at points or like I didn't have enough room to move them around. This might just be because I'm used to the 3DS, but hopefully it's something I can adjust to. Otherwise, I came away really impressed.

Got my FEB today instead of waiting a week to just get the 3g model and it is definitely a nifty piece of hardware. Still not quite sure what I want to get game wise though but I'll figure that out later. I do agree with everyone saying that the software definitely falls behind the hardware (which is awesome). The UI could use a bit more simplification (why do I have to click and icon and then click a start button to start an app?) and I'm surprised it doesn't have any Playstation+ style features like save back ups. It would be cool to be able to have just copied my saves from my PSP and then moved them to the cloud to have access to them instead of needing to copy them over individually. Also, I know that not all PSP games are supported on the Vita at this point, are they just not supposed to show up in the transfer options? I'm kind of disappointed PixelJunk Monsters doesn't seem to transfer. I won't be very interesting with online play but here we go: PSN: Gleeble SwiftStrikerInc fucked around with this message at Feb 16, 2012 around 03:10 |

Just went ahead and ordered a 8 GB memory card from Amazon for myself. I'm going to let my wife use the 16 GB card. I really hope this account swapping does not become a big hassle because I really do not want to use her account. When I get mine in a week I might even post my PSN account for some online play if it all goes smoothly.

Got my FEB this morning, and goddamn this thing is sexy. Got with it: Hot Shots Golf Lumines Wipeout Little Deviants (heeeh) So far, I've only play LD and Wipeout, and both aren't bad. Wipeout is impressive even if people are saying it's only 30 FPS; it's still GORGEOUS and really smooth. LD is a fun little minigame time waster (the AR shooter is kinda fun). Here's my PSN; I'd like to try some of these games online. PSN: dubious

I played it for a bit. It's pretty cool, the mechanics it uses on the vita are very well integrated but I can't give a firm review yet, I've only done 10 or so puzzles and am still finishing up the intro stuff.

Policenaut posted:Aaaaaa I forgot how hard it is to putt in Hot Shots Golf. Someone tell me how not to flub putting! Not helpful I know but aside from the basics (over putt in a hill, the faster the ball go the less it deviate left or right so the incline at the hole is more important than the incline at your feet) there is not much science you can actually do. I'm having better results with chips in than putts for now and they are easier to do since wind have no time to influence your ball and you don't have to roll much so the green's relief is not much relevant.

I don't know if this has been answered yet but how does region switching work? I've heard you don't necessarily need two psn accounts (us and Japanese) to access both stores, heard rumors you could just switch your region and access the Japanese store through your US account. Is any of what I read true?

Policenaut posted:LUMINES is the best loving thing ever and you should all Fixed that for ya. ![]() drat it, this game is crack in the purest form. Also this game is endless. It seems like you have to unlock character by completing a few skins in the voyage mode. Also it seems that every character has at least 5 or 6 (maybe more) skins per character. So in other words a metric fuckton of music in this game and most of it is just bliss. Guys this HAS to be in your gaming library.
