Policenaut posted:Last but not least, Sony's supposed Souls game "Soul Sacrifice" might get the US nod there. On the small chance that this is part of the Demon's Souls/Dark Souls series, how would you go about making this type of game on a handheld? One challenge would be maintaining the darkness without being impossible to see while outdoors. Another would be keeping the same online play, which removes the ability to pause. The controls would be tricky to assign, considering the original games used all four triggers as well as the two thumbstick buttons. You could simplify the two attacks by tapping R for a weak attack, and holding for a strong one, and be able to parry by pressing L just before an attack connects. What could the two touchscreens and the motion sensor be used for?

Shameless repost, but I need to know; if the proof of purchase/receipt is lost, is there anything I can do to claim repairs should problems arise, or am I basically screwed?

That's why I said "supposed". It's possible. The font for it matches pretty drat well with the Dark Souls font, Sony's being secretive as all hell with who's actually making the game, and apparently its big enough to merit a live press conference unveiling that's to be streamed on PC, PS3, and whoever "wins" an invite to see it in person.Harlock posted:Remember that thing that should have been in the system when it launched? When my PS3 died I just phoned Sony and did all the work with them. You don't really need a receipt if you're dealing directly with them. They even have an insurance policy.

You could have people drawing monsters and all sorts to indicate what was coming. Or just draw Negativeman everywhere. Real Soul Sacrifice starts here.

Yeah, I think Disgaea 3 is actually one of the games that's pretty much safe to import. There's not going to be any substantial DLC for it as it already includes all the PS3 version DLC and the bonus content.

Putting PS1 games on this might help a lot, but it really needed to start adding PSN support. I'm still pissed I got a bunch of minis on my PS3 that I can't load on my Vita, I want to play the stupid Orbit game I got for free, it is really fun and I feel totally stupid playing it on a PS3 when I could be playing a real game.

This is probably a stupid question, but have you updated your Vita's firmware? The free PS+ minis didn't work at launch, but they fixed the problem in the last update. Might be worth contacting Sony otherwise, the games should be working... all my Minis work just fine, and they're all ones that I got for free with Plus.

Hey, Mikumaniacs. Next Hatsune Miku Project Diva is finally available for pre-order. As predicted though, it'll cost you! It's $95 before any kind of shipping and handling. You can calculate S&H by adding the game to your cart and checking out, where you'll find a list of shipping options that you can choose from. Your location affects how much you'll be spending, but for me $5 was the lowest, bare minimum, "delivered by a mule" level price. The default shipping option is about $10 and you'll probably have to wait 2-3 weeks. If that's too rich for your blood, you could always buy a cheaper Vita import such as Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Battle Destiny. Only $70!

In case any of you are like me and have been eyeing Valkyria Chronicles 2 but have been too spoiled by Steam to pay almost 40 bucks for two year old handheld game there's actually a bundle out there for $22 that includes the game and DLC. It doesn't show up if you're just browsing the PSP game list but if you search PSN for Valkyria and you should see it.

Hey folks. Do you remember a creepy little scribble-drawn Gothic action platformer by the name of Dokuro? Game Arts announced it at Game Heaven back in March rather quietly. The game may not be confirmed for US release yet, but it appears that even if it skips localization it won't hurt you to buy it. Dokuro is set to come out on July 5th at the low, low price of 2,400 yen for the cart version. That's almost exactly $30 USD! If you're unfamiliar with Dokuro, you can either click that link to see some screenshots or this one to see screens and read about how the game works. It looks like a very quirky, interesting platformer (and won't empty your wallet like some other Japanese Vita games this Summer)

I've read on here that using a PS3/PC/Content Manager set up has allowed people to transfer games not yet supported by PSN from their PS3 to their PC to their Vita. This apparently works for games such as Peace Walker. Maybe it will work for Orbit. Transferring games will be easier once Sony gets it how they want it. There's no reason these things shouldn't work 1:1, I think they are just taking their time to make sure it's secure so they don't inadvertantly open a door to pirates.

There is NO way to transfer a game from PC to vita that you can't already download on a vita (or through the PS3 transfer). the options to get a game to your PC (downloaded from PSP or Media Go) put them in a different file format from vita-compatible games. Only some games will transfer using a PS3, it is no guarantee.

I'm looking to get some games with some longevity in them, due to moving to a place with no reliable internet for a month or two. I have $60 PSN and I'm looking to get God Eater Burst. I'm now wondering if I should get disgaea 3 or just a few other PSP games because I'm not really the biggest fan of strategy games.

I still think the skype program needs work though. You should be able to check voicemail and add contacts thru the program, but currently you can't.

Wendell posted:Why do you say they can't release it digitally? The problem with Trails in the Sky 2 is that it's a 2-UMD game that apparently acts like The Legend of Dragoon or the Xbox 360 version of Star Ocean 4, in which you're constantly switching back and forth to access certain content. From what I've read, the main issue is that the game doesn't ask you to save in between swapping the UMDs. It's PS1-style "just throw that sucker in and go!" swapping. It's not like the other 2-UMD game "Final Fantasy Type-0" which uses UMD 1 for the beginning, end, and multiplayer while UMD 2 is the bulk of the game. So you can't even separate the games on digital into individual games like Type-0. Falcom, the people behind the game, were unable to create a plausible way of combining both UMDs into a digital distribution version when it came time to release the Trails trilogy in Japan on the PSN. The Japanese can buy Trails 1 and Trails 3 on the PSN, but not Trails 2. I believe even XSEED is aware of the problem behind all this, but I haven't looked up their Siliconera interviews on Trails 2 in awhile.
