From the impressions I read unchained blades is one of those super grindy first person dungeon crawlers, I'll pass I think. What's Gungnir like?

Oh also YS Origins is $8 on steam and Oath of Felghana is $5. Origins is only on sale for a couple of hours more and Felghana looks like it will be like that all sale long.

They have very low system requirements, I think they'll run on an old laptop.

This also means if you want a Vita Ys game buy 7, it's not on Steam for cheap.

Which is the perfect time for me to try the series out!

Still playing Disgaea 3 and not really feeling it. It's not the story or gameplay since I love Final Fantasy Tactics on the GBA back in the day. I honestly can't describe what it is but it's not clicking with me. I'm going to give it one more go before I decide to just trade it in.

Disgaea and FFT are two very different gameplay styles despite both being isometric grid-based Japanese SRPGs.

Yeah, comparing Disgaea and FFT is like comparing oil and fish.

Playing a rental of Resistance: Burning Skies. It's competent enough, but it doesn't exactly knock my socks off either. I must be crazy but I really liked Resistance Retribution more. Despite it being a technically inferior game with no right analogue stick I still had more fun with it and both the levels and the main character actually had a personality. Or I'm crazy.

I think a microcosm of this can be in the intel files of the games. No, seriously. So far the intel files in Burning Skies have been about rather obvious things, like a boring as hell "We're sorry your son died, Mrs. Ryan" form letter from the Army. Retribution's intel files were, most of the time, not actually files but the protagonist's own diary and thoughts about the thing he found. Like, he finds a female body in a Chimeran storage facility and the entry goes off on a tangent about how it looks like he found the dancer who used to work at a club he frequented, or discovering a bunch of creepy Cloven shrines and wondering why they all have phonographs playing the same music, or relaying rumors of freaky ghost-men that may or may not be Cloven-related. Plus, best of all, getting all of a particular group of files would unlock new bonus weapons you could use throughout the campaign, so there was a point to it all besides flavor.

Game design workshop rant over...

Nah you're right, Retribution is pretty good, even playing on the PSP. The story's interesting enough and the main character is great, when he actually says lines like "I'm James Grayson, bitches" how can you not like him.

If this is true though, it means that Sony America is actively working to make new PSP games compatible on Vita. That's good news for people waiting for games like Growlanser and Black Rock Shooter!

I just downloaded unchained blades on the ps3 and it indeed transfers over to the vita.

I was holidaying in Japan a few months back and the exchange rate was good, so I thought "what the hell" and bought another Vita duty-free.

Changing a Vita's region also it involves resetting it to factory settings, re-linking it to a PSN account and whatnot. It's pretty annoying, especially considering the PSP didn't require all this malarkey.

I asked earlier so forgive me but I want to make sure before I buy, is the Dead Head Fred cam controllable by the second stick. I have now finished both Daxter and Secret Agent Clank hoping hey were, but they are not.

It depends on how the camera was controlled on the PSP.

You can set the right stick to either simulate another D-Pad, an analog stick, or the face buttons. So in some games where they used the Analog stick for movement and the D Pad for camera, you can set the second stick to D-Pad and use it like that.

It was never there for Scandinavians because of some sort of court case about anime or something.

The DOA 3DS game didn't get released in Sweden because one of the characters was underage. I have no idea what the deal is with Scandanavia though.

I read about it, and no, you can only move the camera with the left stick while standing still pressing R. Theres a center camera button bound to the D-pad down button, but that's it.

Does Amazon still do free release-date delivery? I was looking at preordering Ragnarok Odyssey and P4G off of them, but neither game had the option to. Another game I was looking at listed the two-day delivery option as "release date delivery", but it charged the two-day delivery fee on top of sales tax, and I'm not exactly keen on spending twelve dollars more to get the game delivered on release.

So I've been able to put some time into Wipeout 2048 and I've made it to the 2050 season. So far I'm really enjoying it and finding the cars really fun to use, not that there's much to use so far. How exactly do you go about getting Prototype cars? Do they just unlock the events after you hit rank X0?

I haven't played it for a bit but I remember that for the one I do have, there are secret races.

Zoom out on the race list and look for a 'pulse' on the screen where there isn't a race listing.

Touch it and you should have to do a prototype race, win and you get the vehicle.

I'm pretty sure you have to use the in-game TRANSFARRING option.

You'd have to move it to the PS3 or a PC then transfer it to a PSP at this point, transfarring isn't working for Peace Walker on the vita yet (probably because there isn't a proper vita version yet)

Take the Vita memory card (not the game card, the memory card) out of your Vita and insert it into the disc drive on the PS3.

God drat don't do this. Your question was answered on this very page earlier today. No you can not transfar with a Vita yet. Either direction. Period. Transfarring is PSP only.

There's a game like Super Meat Boy called N+, which was released on the PSP. I don't know if it's compatible for the Vita, though.

My only problem with it is that you need to beat a batch of levels for it to save your progress.
