The great thing about some of these overpriced titles right now, particularly if you're on the fence and willing to wait, is that they're probably due for price cuts as soon as June.

I would agree, but digital distribution and price cuts don't always go hand in hand. I think steam might be changing that however, but Microsoft and Sony still seem to think digital prices should never drop, they invented the best prices at launch.

I hope the prices lower normally for both and don't screw digital adopters.

I'm just basing my estimations off of patterns seen with other launches. The proprietary titles won't see much of any, if any price cut at all for a long while- I don't expect Uncharted to price drop. Garbage like Dungeon Hunters will plummet in price quickly. MvC3 will probably hold its price because of its quality. Less-garbage, non-flagship, niche stuff like Katamari, or Dynasty Warriors though, will probably see early price cuts too.

Yeah. You can tell if the rebuying works by going to Super Stardust after buying it. There should be that purchased shopping bag next to the price which means it registered properly. I'm going to guess the first DLC bundle was like trying to download a dev copy or something.

Yeah Right-Left-Right or Left-Right-Left, you sacrifice 15% of your shield everytime you do it, but on a Time Trial or Speed Lap your shield is unlimited anyway.

Left-right-left or right-left-right. You lose a chunk of health (which doesn't matter in speed laps and time trials where you appear to be invincible this year), and then yeah, you get a boost upon landing.

I just bought a flash cart for my 3DS yesterday, but I think I'm going to head to Gamestop and just trade the console in along with the four games that I have so I can pick up a Vita. Are there any goons that can give me a ballpark estimate on what I'd get for a red 3DS, Ocarina of Time, Star Fox, Mario Kart, and Mario Land 3DS? I'm fairly certain my debit card limit is $200/day and I was planning on picking up the $249 model, Rayman, Katamari, and a 16gb card, which comes to $405.61 after tax. I'm also considering just dropping down to an 8gb card because my DSL is atrociously slow and I'm sure Sony is going to drop the ball on digital copy pricing anyway.

To build on what people have said let me elaborate.

Capcom has not officially announced a Vita followup for Monhan, but there have been many leaks and "substantiated rumors" claiming that "Monster Hunter Portable 3rd G" is coming for Vita.

The September 2011 leak list for Tokyo Game Show had Portable 3rd HD Ver as a Vita launch title, which turned out to be one of only two things on the list that were not present at TGS (the other was Bayonetta 2 + HD movie sequel). Other random rumors cite MH3rd Vita as being a Winter 2012 title. More recently, Nikkei Trendy (a popular entertainment magazine) is claiming Monhan Vita is in development for "the second half of 2012". Last summer, a Capcom representative stated that the likelihood of both 3DS and Vita receiving a Monster Hunter game is incredibly high.

It's now gotten to the point that Sony officials are now biting their tongue over Monhan Vita. Sony France's COO claimed that Monster Hunter Vita is due for "the coming months", but quickly issued a backpedal statement when he probably realized he wasn't supposed to say that.

To sum it up: you're probably going to get a Monster Hunter game on Vita, but don't expect to hear about it anytime soon. At the earliest I'd peg Capcom announcing it in the summer like they did with Monster Hunter Tri G on 3DS, and giving it the full reveal at Tokyo Game Show 2012 in September. Cheer up, enjoy Freedom Unite, and wait it out.

Honestly, go to Best Buy, put down $5 to reserve whatever games (ME3, The Show, some others) and get the 50% credit boost. I did it last week, you'll get around $25 for Star Fox, $25 for Mario Kart, $27 for Mario 3DS, and $30 for Zelda (I traded them all in) and around $100 for the 3DS. That is a ton more credit than you will get at gamestop.

I was thinking about doing this, but the nearest Best Buy is an hour away from me and I'm okay with spending another $20 to save a couple hours' time. I think I'll get about $17/ea for the games and the $10 extra credit, which makes them $19.50 each. I used Cheapassgamer's trade-in value search to get those numbers. I just can't find any info on 3ds systems. I know Gamestop has the extra $25 towards a Vita going on, but I have no idea what their base value is.

I would have loved this too but we're never going to get Portable 3rd outside of Japan. They only want to localize MH games with built-in online play, which P3rd doesn't have. The PSP's been brain dead for like 2 years now and they don't want to bother localizing anything on it anymore. The PS3 version fails to pass SCEA/SCEE's minimum requirements for localization, thanks to a lack of Trophies and its requirement of Ad-Hoc Party to play online (which uses a more advanced version than what Sony's localized in the West)

You'd think Capcom would spare the time to localize a game that outsold Pokemon in Japan but hey, that's what happened.
