Why are there restrictions on what you can play over remote play for that matter? Just from tinkering around with it it seems as though the PS3 is still doing all the heavy lifting. I was stoked when I thought I would be able to play Saints Row 2 on the John, but sadly I'm limited to a handful of old PSX games.

Remote play is just video streaming of the PS3 screen and remote control for the buttons, the PS3 does all the work.

Developers have to say "RemotePlay = Allow" in their game, that's it. There's probably a list online somewhere of what games support it.

Oh god, that makes me wish the PSP Star Soldier was on the PSN store. I don't mean either of the TG16 releases, but the proper PSP game that was released on UMD in 2005.

It was awesome, and it had modes where you held the PSP sideways for maximum vertical shoot feeling!

The urge to get tons of games that always goes along with the acquisition of a console is so insidious. I keep looking at PSP games which I know I don't really want to play.

Also, I'm now downloading Super Stardust Delta, even though I didn't like SSHD. At least I know Delta fixes one of my major beefs with HD.

Good point; taking off the pink glasses, the emulators were never that great and in the years since that first CFW I now have a cell phone that will do better everything I did on any of the homebrew PSP stuff and I never ran anything besides UMDs anyway.

Why were you doing data installs on PSP games on your memory card?

You seriously don't need to do that anymore on a Vita. It was primarily used to help with UMD loading times on the PSP. (The exception would be MGS: Peace Walker since the install data also gave you the voice dialogue)

Well, I didn't want a repeat of the Kingdom Hearts BbS problem I had (couldn't get the install to work, people told me not to bother and just digitally copy it with a homebrew app; eventually I managed to get it working and the difference was night and day).

In this case, TO doesn't seem to benefit at all from an install on the Vita, so you're in the right in this case.

Still going to need a bigger card sooner than later.

It's pretty damned great. I actually have games made specifically for it that I want to play, have a sizeable library of PSP games to also dive into, and I'll eventually have PSOne support for those titles.

It's obviously not perfect, but I'm getting more play out of my Vita in one week than I did my 3DS for the first two months I owned that system. For the money I've spent, I'm pretty satisfied overall. Hopefully, it gets the support it needs, and Sony takes its feedback seriously.

I wish I had a few more games, but that's more a money problem than a system one. The only two games I'm really playing right now are Katamari and Wipeout and they're pretty rad. I'm looking forward to having more stuff to play but so far it's doing well as a PSP replacement. I probably could have waited a few months, but I wanted to get caught up in day 1 excitement for something

There's some improvements to be made for sure, but a lot of them seem to be firmware issues rather than hardware things, so I'm happy with my purchase.

A thousand times. Compared to the 3DS which I felt the need to put down when I realized I was playing something and not actually trying to win (pilot wings) the experience of the system was much better. Also the system doesn't dig into my palms and, because I am a lazy gently caress, I can play this lying down without the top screen wobbling at me,

Even though I only have one of the three games I bought delivered so far I'm enjoying this immensely.

Yeah, the PSN friends list has a limit of 100. It's possible they reached the limit. I'm getting pretty close to it myself, I have enough friend requests that I can't even accept them all without reaching it.

People send your friend requests first and foremost to new PSN users, they need all the friends they can get!

Just finished Uncharted: GA.

Great game. Ranks about equal to Uncharted 3 and just below Uncharted 2 in my enjoyment. Better than Uncharted 1 in just about every way.

The gyro aiming is great. it's probably more accurate than the Dual Shock controller. Touch climbing is good. It's more fun to climb by swiping your finger across the climbable ledges rather than mashing x. Rubbing charcoal was pretty stupid, though.

The last 1/3 of the game was a real thrilling ride, with great set pieces, such as the ghost lake. Extremely satisfied overall.

I've had my Vita since January the 5th, so I'm past the new console honeymoon period and I can tell you that I still adore this drat thing. If anything, I love it more now than when I first got it as every new game, every update, every announcement of future stuff assures me that this thing is getting better all the time and will continue to do so. I've already got 6 Vita games, there are 2 more that I will definitely buy when they come out in the near future, plus there are about 4 others that I would consider if the price/personal finances allow for a bonus treat.

And this is still incredibly early into the system's life. I bought an Xbox 360 at launch and sold it a couple of months later because there was just nothing to play on it. 6 months after that I noticed that the only game that had come out in that time that looked interesting was Dead Rising. The Vita already has more games that interest me than that system had in the first 9 months. That's a good sign.

There are some minor niggles, but as someone else pointed out they are all software related, I have zero complaints (and endless praise) for the hardware. As someone who hated the ergonomics of the PSP 1000, and endured the better but dreadfully supported and gimped PSPgo, I have to say that Sony have finally come up with a handheld that seems to marry the very best hardware with a solid supported ecosystem to back it up.

I recommend the Vita with no hesitation and no caveats, it's a good console and I consider it money well spent.

Oh and Atlas Moth, those backgrounds are loving awesome I'll be rocking the angry Hulk on my Vita. Thanks dude.

I never had a problem with the PSP hardware-wise. I thought it was a great lil machine for gaming on the go with the added ability to watch movies. The games were a ratio of 20 to 1 crap to good and eventually there stopped being games worth buying at all.

I love the Vita itself, I think the hardware is amazing. Again I am worried that there will be too few games worth getting. As of now I spend most of my Vita playtime playing Peacewalker with one or two rounds of UMvC thrown in. I haven't seen or heard of anything else coming out for the Vita that peaked my interest. There aren't any stand alone threads dedicated to Vita games that I'm aware of, so what is a reasonable inference you can make from that?

Nintendo was selling the 3DS at a ridiculous premium before they dropped the price. The Vita's guts are a lot more expensive, and I don't see how they could or would drop the price for at least a year.

Also the 3DS did nowhere near what Nintendo expected, and while the 3G vita is crashing and burning the wifi ones are selling really well, so Sony really doesn't have an incentive to price drop. If they were to decide to do a price drop we probably wouldn't hear about it until TGS at the earliest, since things seem to be going well enough for E3 to be optimistic.
