After sleeping on it, I decided to exchange my Vita for the third time at Best Buy (first time was due to a small dent on the screen, no idea how that happened). Even though they allow up to four exchanges, I felt bad swapping systems due to my anal impulsion with "perfect" screens.

But it seems to have paid off, as I fired up Corpse Party in a fully dark room, and didn't notice any blotches. Maybe they need time to surface, but as long as they aren't taking up a visible portion (such as the top left, which would be very visible in a game like that), then I'll be satisfied.

It seems the "rule of three" continues to plague me with every new piece of technology. Had to replace my LCD, my PSP, and my iPad a total of three times. Incidentally, my 3DS came out perfect out of the box, but it's also gathering a good feet of dust at my table, so...

Anyway, I would also like to give my recommendation for Half Minute Hero. It's cheap, only 101MB, and probably has the fastest gameplay that human development can allow.

Plus if you map the right analog stick to the four face buttons, the Princess Mode basically becomes a twin stick shooter.

Is there a Hot Shots manual? There's not one in my case, so I'm thinking there's one hidden in the game menus somewhere.

I just feel like there's tons of stuff I'm missing out on. I discovered the back touchscreen shot planner totally by accident. And it took me a dozen challenges before I even realized that you put spin on the ball by using the directional pad during your shot. Then someone mentioned a few pages back that you can add extra distance to power shots by tilting the Vita at impact.

None of those things are noted on the controls display, and I didn't skip any tutorials as far as I know. If it weren't for dumb luck, I would be missing out on so many crucial features, and I'm wondering if there's more I've yet to discover.

I'm -2 on the second hole of today's 18-hole tournament. I'm currently ranked 580/580. Please tell me the rating system is wrong.

The current average score for the course is -11.

-3 on third hole, still 580/580. -5 on seventh hole, still worst golfer in the world.

I think I have also noticed some rubberbanding on Vs. matches. Even on the second boss, he sucked at the start of the game, but as the holes went by and I was destroying him on a few of the holes he hit some impossible shots and even did some ridiculously far chip-in. But prior to this he was barely landing on the green within his first few strokes.

This is gonna sound kinda weird coming from the OP but please, play this game. Please play 999: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors for the DS. It is an incredible game, and you will be all set for Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward when it comes out.

Is it an actual sequel to 999, or a successor? I never inquired further as I've yet to finish 999 (only got one ending so far).

I also wonder if it's a visual novel, as it appears to have 3D cutscenes. Is there still a persistent narrative?

These are all moot points anyway, as I'm looking forward to it all the same.

Also Policenaut, you ever going to accept my friend invite?

From what I've read, Virtue's Last Reward is a sequel to 999. It has characters from the previous game and supposedly builds off it. It's got visual novel dialog segments just like 999 did too, but instead of being static sprites on a background they have 3D cutscenes for everything. It also has some bizarro Corpse Party style Bad End deal going for it.

If you've only got the one ending, you should really go back and finish the rest. There's a great spoiler-free walkthrough on GameFAQs that'll get you to them. It's really a wonderful game.

I'm an Aussie but I have created a US account as well to browse the store. I see that the US PSN on Vita has Monster Hunter Freedom Unite. I ended up buying it, knowing that it was tied to that account as I thought it was the only way I could play it (it doesn't show in the Aussie PSN on Vita).

Anyway, I happened to be looking through PSP games on my PS3 last night and what do we have here... Monster Hunter Freedom Unite DOES exist on the Aussie store, it just doesn't show on the Vita! I assume this is because it's not flagged as compatible, but has anyone tried it? I can't imagine why the US version would be okay but not the PAL version.

From what I've been noticing, my best guess is that the better players skip the 9 hole dailies and go straight to the 18 hole tournaments.

Also I wouldn't be surprised if most people are too afraid to play 18 holes.
