drat that's a fine OP.

I'm pretty sure there is a 3g Vita in Canada, it's jsut the dumbest idea for anyone to buy because who the gently caress wants to pay our cell phone rates for that, AND deal with loving Rogers.

E; weird, I went to find it on the EB games website but it's gone now. I remember hearing about it when I went to the sony store not too long ago, though.

I really want a Vita, but I don't want to rebuy 90% of my titles. I hope they have some kind of post-release PSP sale on PSN. I'm happy to rebuy FFT and Tactics Ogre if Square-Enix receives more money for making fine games, I guess... just, money is hard to come by.

The analog stick is going to give new life to Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops when it's available to play on the Vita, I know that much.

This is such a beautiful system...

I hate on Portable Ops a lot, but I'm looking forward to re-playing it with a second analog stick just to see if it makes it better when the controls are decent. I'm going to fill my 4GB card with PSP games for the first week since there isn't anything I really want to get on the 15th.

If you're buying physical games? 4gb should be fine until memory card prices go down. If you're planning on doing any digital stuff it's nowhere near enough.

Okay, I'm picking my bundle up after school tomorrow but I'm still stuck on what I want to get with it. I'm picking up Katamari on the 22nd, and a $20 PSN card for a couple downloadable games, but I don't know what to get with the system. I'm leaning towards Rayman, but WipEout is also a possibility. Will I turn into a ball of anger if my previous racing game experience was Burnout: Paradise and Mario Kart?

Not at all. There's only 250 games that are officially supported that you can download from the vita, but you can get most other games ro install over a PS3, but there's no guarantee that they'll work.

Right, but I just wish it didn't look blurry. I suppose it's the same effect as watching SD TV shows on an HD TV (but not quite as bad).

I thought because the Vita was 4x the resolution of the PSP that it would upscale a lot cleaner. Right now I'm tempted to just play the PSP games on my old PSP-2000.

(I know a lot of people get really defensive about this kind of stuff but this is just my general impression... overall I _really_ love the Vita)

I agree with you on P3P looking kinda bad. It doesn't seem to have taken to the scaling very well at all. I want to say that they were doing some pseudo anti-aliasing on PSP and it doesn't look good on a different resolution. Half-Minute Hero looks pretty good from what I can tell, though. I'm going to try transferring Peace Walker, and if that doesn't work I'll give Ace Combat: Joint Assault a go to see if 3D stuff fared better.

I probably couldn't find someone since I'm in canada and wifi location is spotty at best, but it looks like Game Goods depend on the game. I found one for ModNation Racers that looks like a kind of thing to build tracks with, so I assume it would just be added to my tools inventory thing if I had the game. I seem to recall hearing that some of the ones for Katamari were consumables, though. When you find a game good you can leave it until you want to download it, but it expires in two weeks unless you redeem it.

If you'll permit me, I'd like to ask a couple more newbie questions, just to make sure I've got my poo poo together before tomrrow.

1. Has it been tested yet which downloads faster, the Vita or PS3? As I mentioned a page ago, I've got a Vita code for Blazblue to redeem, and i was oriignally saving it for when I get the Vita. If it turns out that it's easier/quicker to redeem a code on the PS3, though...

2. Which leads to my followup question: can you connect the Vita to your PS3 with the same kind of USB cable used to connect the PSP?

3. When copying PSP game saves to the Vita, which is the easier method: copy them to PS3 first or PC?

4. I've heard issues about recovering your PSN account when setting up the Vita. Something about how you can't have the Vita connect to your internet without first setting up an account. Has this been addressed, or what is the easiest workaround?
1. My Vita is a lot faster and more reliable, but I'm using a launch PS3 over wireless, ymmv.

2. No, the Vita uses its own USB cable, which comes with the system.

3. The PS3 is the only way to transfer PSP saves to the vita from a PSP. Media Go and the Vita Content Manager don't share data.

4. It made me connect to download an update before I could log in so I think that's bullshit.

I downloaded it from the PSN on the PS3 then copied it over with the content manager. You might want to try downloading it with Media Go (or I guess copying from the PSP) and then copying the folder to %my documents%\PS Vita\PGAME\<a big ol' ID thing>.
