Are there any proper details about Fifa yet? I'm getting it as part of the Morrisons pre-order deal and I'm in two minds whether to keep it or sell it. Does it have the new defending controls from the grown up version? And how is the online, does it have the same league structure as the 360 and PS3 versions?

Edit: I guess Google is my friend, Fifa Review here - http://uk.vita.ign.com/articles/121/1218540p1.html

Fifa is great, you just get loving sick of its bullshit after a while. It can be the most frustrating gaming experience in the world at times.

I gave 12 a miss, but I'm tempted to hold onto the Vita version I'm getting as part of my pre-order. Not decided yet...

Wipeout
Ridge Racer
Motorstorm RC
Super Stardust Delta
Hustle Kings
Vice City Stories
Escape Plan (reviews pending)
and whatever that cheap Darts game is

I wish next week would just hurry up already.

It is so true. If you like JRPGs really should add Trails in the Sky to that list as well.

Maybe I'm mistaken, but isn't that list entirely JRPGs anyway?

Are the PSP Ratchet & Clank games good?

Does anyone know anything at all about this darts game?

That Mortal Kombat trailer is the most misleading thing ever, so everyone expects AR fighting in it now right? That's certainly the impression I got.

I thought Reality Fighters looked crap, but then when you see it in action it actually looks really, really cool. Not sure about it at all.

My three most wanted would be...

A 'Souls' Game. I loved Demon's and Dark Souls and any new game in this series would be an instant purchase for me. A Demon's Souls 2 Vita Exclusive actually seems like a possibility.

Some form of Resident Evil. I'd be happy with just a Mercs game, although it would have to be more substantial than the DS version. One that included all the RE4, RE5 content with all the characters from RE4, RE5 and the RE5 DLC with extra modes thrown in would be ideal. Or Revelations would be cool too.

And Call of Duty. Despite all the hate CoD gets these days, there's a reason everyone plays it. And being a portable game they could do some fun stuff with it, have a multiplayer with loads of wager match/community match type modes. That kinda stuff seems like it would be at home on a 'younger sibling' version of CoD.

If I can add a cheeky fourth, a new Assassins Creed game would be a must buy as long as it was a fully featured installment. Although no more Ezio or Altair please.

It's not worth more than £20, but it is good.

Leyburn

It's worth buying for Wipeout 2048. That's the killer app as far as I'm concerned.

But I'm also looking forward to Super Stardust and Escape Plan at launch, and I'm strangely excited about having the whole PSP catalogue available too since I never had one.

Leyburn

I'm pretty convinced it's going to be something of a flop. I'm sure it'll get enough support to be worth owning though.

Fifa is the game most likely to lead to snapped Vitas. Although Wipeout HD is responsible for all the teeth marks on my controller.

I can't wait to play Wipeout 2048. Amazon better dispatch this poo poo as soon as possible. If it doesn't arrive tomorrow I'm going to be gutted.

As a Wipeout HD veteran it greatly concerns me that they don't have a Racebox option in 2048. It's absolute lunacy in fact.

Motorstorm RC is out already? Oh, wait, you're buying from the UK store aren't you?

Vice City Stories is fantastic...

Cool. Good advice, I'll keep it in mind.

Yeah Motorstorm RC is up on the UK Store. There's something really nice about paying less than 6 quid for a game, and getting the PS3 and PS Vita versions for the money. Sony should definitely encourage more of this kind of thing. It was only £7.99 for Super Stardust Delta + DLC and Vice City weighed in at £6.99.

Ridge Racer is only costing me £15 too and I'm getting some free downloadable courses and cars with that.

I'm absolutely loving the pricing of all this stuff. That's 4 games for £36, which is just about the same as one full price game.

Aug 31, 2001

I've had a quick gently caress about with Motorstorm RC on the PS3 and it's bloody great. The speed lap events are perfect for the asynchronous multiplayer. It automatically goes and downloads the ghosts for the guys at the top of the leaderboard and you can race against them along with your own best time.

It's perfect "one more go" handheld fodder. I'm gonna stop playing it and save it for when my Vita arrives. Woo hoo!

Leyburn

Uncharted, Unit 13, Modnation and Reality Fighters demos are all downloading right now ready to get copied over tomorrow. What a ridiculous amount of day one content this machine has.

I'm kinda looking forward to showing off the Reality Fighters demo and setting up a character for folks and having them fight using the AR card. I hope the demo lets you do all this.

Goodness me, the screen really is super amazingly pretty isn't it. I had a quick game of Fifa and it's startling how clear everything is. I can see my thumbs getting sore from extended use though, those buttons are so drat small.

And gently caress you Amazon, Wipeout never turned up today and it was the reason I bought the drat system. Also I was under the impression that the UK Starter pack would have a case and some screen protectors, but all I got were some blue headphones and a voucher for a fiver off selected PSN games and some Home tat (lol).

Copying all my new PSN games and demos onto the Vita at the moment. Can't wait to see what they look like in action.

Leyburn
Aug 31, 2001

I love Wipeout 2048, but the combat events can go to hell. I find myself just replaying them for that one lucky time I manage to get the elite pass then I can move on and never think about combat events again. Unless of course I end up in a lobby full of fools who vote for them.

Very basic compared to the PS3/XBox360 versions. No Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles in it, the Shining series is also completely missing, but still fun with the Phantasy Stars and Sonic 1+2.

How disappointing. I was mainly after Shining Force I & II, so no sale Sega. Vita version with trophies please! Get a move on!

The XMB is horrific and confusing while the Vita interface is really nice and quick. I approve!

I just completed the Wipeout 2048 campaign mode. Kind of disappointed at how easy it was. In Wipeout HD trying to win the final tournament on Phantom/Elite was one of the most difficult and rewarding challenges I've ever had in a game. The final race in Wipeout 2048 I managed to get the Elite Pass first time, even though I was ping-ponging off walls for a lot of it.

I've still got a few Elites to get, there's a couple of Time Trials that seem like they're gonna take a bit of work, but besides that it wasn't really that hard. Still an awesome game, although they need to patch in a Racebox mode soon. Some of the omissions are just baffling to me (no time played on the stats screen?!), but the missing Racebox mode is insane.

You guys do realise that further on you might unlock ships that will make getting Elite on some tracks (slightly) easier

The Elites ain't too difficult anyway. Only some of the TT ones caused me any trouble, and even then it's just a case of learning the course. The biggest pain the arse to get were some of the combat ones, where you just had to keep playing until the run that gifts you 3 plasmas in a row instead of endless loving cannons.

Getting Elite Passes on the A+ challenges is a different story though, those are incredibly tough.

Yeah Right-Left-Right or Left-Right-Left, you sacrifice 15% of your shield everytime you do it, but on a Time Trial or Speed Lap your shield is unlimited anyway.
