I didn't see it in the op but for NA the "free $15 PSN title" for the 3G vita preorders is Super Stardust with DLC, upon activating the system. Also is there any firm information about using a single PSN account on two vitas to share content yet? Also Resistance: Burning Skies has a release date of May 29th. http://vita.ign.com/articles/121/1218616p1.html

Policenaut posted:As far as the system works, you can apply any single PSN account on two Vitas before reaching the limit. From what I've been told, it operates on the same platform the PSP does. So if you have an activated PSP, you'll need to deactivate the account. The big concern is trophies. I don't care about trophies but my friend does. Do they both kind of congeal into a mishmash?

Agnostic watermelon posted:So would it be possible to share psp games on 2 vitas with no problem? That would make re-buying all those psp games much easier. Kind-of from what I understand. WIth the Vita you can only be logged into one account on PSN, and have to "reinitialize" the system any time you login with another account. Once you do that the savegames and downloaded content from the previous account will no longer work until you reinitialize to the proper account. Maybe Policenaut knows if this is the case?

So with Monster Hunter on the vita, if I were to purchase a PSP version does the second stick work for the camera? I cannot stand that whole "claw grip" thing and it turned me off to the series entirely. I'd be interested in giving it another spin if I don't have to break my hand to do it.

Things wouldn't download while I was playing NHL games because they had to be online to keep you updated on current EA sales and DLC offers whether you were playing online or not. It drove me insane. I hope this is fixed with the Vita. Everyone hopes, but you know it won't be because EA are arseholes.

For those wondering about remote play - there's a file within PS3 titles called PARAM.SFO. This is basically a set of flags to say what a game can use, the version of the game, where it's located and what firmware version is needed for the game. Remote play is just a flag in this file but developers never enable it for some strange reason. So yes, games *could* work with remote play but developers don't use it. When I played with it back when I had CFW on my PS3 a lot of games were very unplayable because there was a notable lag playing on the PSP. It might be different on the vita with the added horsepower, but unfortunately developers at least back then didn't have the option of saying either vita or psp remote play enabled only.

I gotta say the official screen protector is very nice. I was weary of getting it but said whatever and did. It has an alignment thing built in that wraps around the buttons and joystick on the right side so when you place it on the protector is properly aligned. It also doesn't feel gummy and isn't really noticeable in use. By far the easiest screen protector I've ever installed.

FoolishLobster posted:How does the screen look with it on? I'm always worried screen protectors would lessen the awesomeness of screens. I've considered a screen protector for my Vita but I have a Samsung Galaxy S that've had for a year with no screen protector and I have yet to get a scratch on it. Looks fine, I got a single spec of dust under mine (woops) but it's off the screen so I'm not too worried. The only way you can tell is if you look around the screen border you'll see the edge of the protector. And for the free 3G month, it's a crock of poo poo. You have to sign up and after 30 days of use, you get 1 free month and Super Stardust. I said eff that and just bought Stardust, which conveniently is broken and doesn't install right now

What makes it so much better than Lumines 2 or XBL? I tried the demo and the shuffle block was interesting but I don't know if I'd be willing to invest the time again on the game just because of one new block.

I played it for a bit. It's pretty cool, the mechanics it uses on the vita are very well integrated but I can't give a firm review yet, I've only done 10 or so puzzles and am still finishing up the intro stuff.

Alright finished the first 2 areas, I'm kind of on the fence on the game. I think it's an interesting puzzler, but it feels like it's a never-ending training session. The frustrating thing though is 99% of the 'training' is trial by fire where you basically just gotta gently caress around and click/swipe/pinch aimlessly until you find something that reacts. If you like weird puzzlers I guess this game's alright but I definitely won't be focusing time on it, just a leisure game for me.

Also no, I'm avoiding Lumines as well. I really liked the first on PSP but trying 2 as well as Live it just lost the neat-ness as it seemed to not really change much at all.

I need to stop listening to goon recommendations. Corpse Party is probably cool to you guys but like Divinity 2 (was one of those goongasms in the steam holiday sale) I am sitting here wondering what the hell. I love JRPG but I guess "visual novels" are not for me. Way more text than I'm used to and not broken up by anything to crazy for long enough periods. Also I'm terrible at Hotshots online. I will never get above the lowest 25% ever.

Tonfa posted:Any goon with experience in the stealth action genre gotten their hands on Shinobido 2 yet? All it will take for me to get Vita is probably for it to be an improvement over the already amazing PS2 original, 95% of the public and all reviewers pan everything in the genre so it's hard to fish for an accurate review. I tried the Japanese demo and it seemed very reminiscent of Tenchu, but I never played Shinobido 1. I'm a big fan of the MGS series but I couldn't get into the demo for Shinobido 2. The controls seemed a little goofy at times and I was getting frustrated running into invisible walls in the demo. I would say if you like Tenchu-esque games this would likely be one for you, but be aware that it is "mission" driven as in you're given a set of tasks, you complete them and then you're back to the menu to start a new mission. It doesn't seem to be open-world at all.

The official protector has an applicator similar to that but it only covers the screen, not the side parts too. It has a guide that goes over the right-side of the buttons and then you just lay the protector portion over the other part. Was quite painless to install for me.
