Death Cube K posted:Why couldn't they just port the maps from MNC and make them Tubrocross only like I suggested earlier? I'm not trying to be facetious or anything, I'm seriously asking. They probably changed a lot of the engine and entity stuff between MNC and SMNC. Not that they couldn't port them, but it would probably require some work. Also if I remember correctly the MNC maps were significantly smaller than the SMNC ones, which would lead to even quicker rolls. Only reason to play turbocross is to afk while you lose in 2 minutes and collect your combat coins. It's like ubernet said "Hey, you thought our new map was bad and untested? Wait until you see our attempt at a new game mode!". It's supercross from here on out for me.

The jackbot on shield down in SMNC makes turbocross settle quickly. I think this is one of the quicker rolls I've had on MNC and it still took a good 3-4 minutes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKxSHGY1qaY. But yeah MNC maps were hilariously small to where some pros can get from their spawn to the enemies in about 2-3 seconds on some maps. Having gotten better at this game (to the extent that I am now regularly causing ragequits as a Veteran and have had people Steam messaging me for being a "lucker scrub") I have this to say: gently caress Karl, still. Also, the only thing more satisfying than Ka-Clawing a sniper off his perch and bashing his loving face in is catching hold of an assassin and casually drop-kicking her ninja rear end off the edge of the world.

Man, Bot Buster is just hilarious on Cheston. As long as you can avoid dying too much (which isn't TOO hard, since you have a bunch of mobility tools) you can pretty much melt bots just by vaguely pointing your tommygun at them.

This is probably more economy talk that we usually get in here, but I just got an Assault Sunburst II grenade launcher from a post-game drop. Does anyone have a feel for that worth? A lone bacon endorsement? A Chickey hat? A sweet bucket of gently caress-all?

The other complete newb sin, telling them dark secrets like "Firebase will stop shooting you if you cloak"). Not to mention the influx of "Pay To Win" screaming. From an actual "payment" standpoint, how are they going to get anyone new to shell out dollars or credits for a class if people who already own them lock them out and tell them to go gently caress themselves? Yeah, that will really encourage them to try new pros. Section Z fucked around with this message at May 26, 2012 around 20:27 |

I feel vet is one of those dudes that needs a good team, once he gets someone everyone should be shooting the gently caress out of the grappled dude. Fat Assassin also works, I played with one that hung out in the jungle a lot and just dominated the spark and sin up there.

OneEightHundred posted:Okay, how the gently caress do you do anything as Vet when the other team picked gunner aside from try to claw-pull people I guess? I'm sorry, I'm just somewhat bitter about Ace Veterans on both teams complaining about their Ka-Klaw not granting them an instant kill every single use during my times running "Known Issue: Buggy Crook Hook" Wascot. With bonus moments of the Vet on my team complaining about me every time the enemy Vet murdered my face with no Ka-Klaw involved. "Use your shifty shuffle you loving noob" Well, yes. Obviously the 7 seconds, one grapple save shifty shuffle will work wonders against the guy with three grapples. Edit vvv I'm not saying the floating slamming rear end in a top hat maneuver isn't a problem for a Vet, or any Pro to deal with up close and personal. I'm just saying other pros have it even worse than Vet against gunner. At the very least if you can spare the products, Cant Slow This I've found can be helpful at closing the distance for the grab on a slamming gunner anyways... Though I've often found myself double slowed thus Cant Slow This bypassed around a slamming gunner. Gunners only have the one slow right? I'm mostly sure its just a case of bad luck getting hit my multiple slow sources when they slam (Yes, I know it doesn't turn on until level 5). As for "look in my general direction and hold a skill or attack" Falcon alt fire slow slam then Floating vets spamming their melee against commandos man. Of course, a commando IS piles easier to kill than a Gunner if they don't teleport away admittedly. Back to trying to give useful info beyond just saying "Your Vet is lucky compared to some other Pros", Cant Slow this if you can spare it for the slam, dive rolling behind the gunner once they start floating and shooting at you, then keeping on the move if they are smart enough to 180 mid flight (can you even do that without massive air?). As a vet, you can use your charging grapple skill to close the distance fast in a moment they land to catch them off guard compared to hanging by their ankles spamming melee alt fire. If Ka-Klaw is charged, a floating Vet isn't a very fast nor small target, But I assume the main issue is the gunner busting out all their tricks after a Klaw. If all this (Minus the Ka-Klaw and charge grapple) can work for a newb sin, then it should work for a Vet... Granted, Sin blind helps a lot there. As a Vet, you "should" be sticking with teammates anyways for best dogpile murder potential... But you can't always trust people to stick with you, or to back you up even if they are. I have a silly question about Turbo regarding Endos. Okay, you do not get passive health and damage upgrades as you level. How does this effect the Health Endos? Those give you your health bonus per level normally right? Unrelated to Turbo, but an Endo question. How bad is -4.50% Health regeneration? So small it doesn't matter? Inconsequential on a Sin but a nightmare on a Tank? I ask because my "someday, when I'm not poor" Endo outlook is something like this. http://smnc.lennardf1989.com/Calcul...,39,39,39,39,39 That, or no skill endos and straight Lv4 Speeds which nets you Default health, +48 speed, and +5.40% skill recovery. I just hate accuracy penalties V

Conversely, I've started to better cash wise with Assassin when I started to "play it like Karl". My deaths are reasonably low, but my cash inflow was shameful (Oh hey, two levels below everyone else on my team despite zero/1 or 2 deaths) until I did that. The Shelly change to hit only the lane it's closest really made it more manageable. The whole 'bouncer on same part of map as anni' thing is glorious too, playing a particularly hard game yesterday their entire team set up on the anni and my team all approached from the left lane, while I headed to right lane and bought a bouncer - It was a perfect storm of confusion that left them all dead or too low to fight - my teams gunner juiced and was shooting from the left, the bouncer approached them from behind and grappled the heal botting CombatGirl, their gunner panic juiced right as I ka klawed him and rolled away, leaving their assault and CG desperately fighting the bouncer while my team swept in and demolished them. By the time their gunner got back, it was too late - And then he got grappled by my -still alive- bouncer. It was magnificent.
