But if the upcoming game mode is closer to MNC I think that'll definitely draw in more people in the long run. Theres probably a good load of MNC fans out there that just hate the extra concepts that SMNC brings with it now(I'm probably one of them!). A gamemode that is less tedious while allowing you can hop in/out of would definitely draw more interest for guys who want a shootier SMNC.

So, what would it take to make no-healer lineups viable in evenly-matched games? I feel like you'd need to do really drastic things, like weaken their static defenses then remove their ability to grant armour with their heal guns. This would probably make them bad characters, but that's how it works when you're a dedicated healer.

If I ever picked up a Sharpshooter, it would be Gunslinger. While I'm terrible at scoped aim, my mid-range aim is at least passable. Probably cause you feel less pressure to get that "perfect" shot without a scope. One problem would be I'm not a GREAT shot, so I wouldn't be contributing as well as I would with a Tank or Karl without a lot more practice by comparison. But I think my main "problem" would be I'd actually get close to the Annihilator on Spunky and Bullet instead of just screaming at people to get it 7 times and not helping at all. EDIT: Silly question about the Gunslinger. How come it looks like she has a tiny jetpack, but doesn't seem to have a floaty hop? I have an aversion to them because I've never, ever seen a game where they were an option. They either suck and are non-viable or they are required for a team.

While I am terrible at SMNC, I am glad at least that I'm not the dude I just had on my team who, as a Support, appeared to be in the dark as to the existence of his ability to heal teammates. Or deploy a turret. Or the location of the Annihilator. Or how to die less than 15 times. I mean... jesus.

Something really odd happened, my entire team all locked in different classes and there was not a single support among us. At first we were lost for words but with my promises of wintermint and fist and chestbumps for everyone if we won, we prevailed.![]() I guess SMNC likes to throw curveballs in the form of loving rank 100, full jammy bastards who get to bully the kids in the sandpit or completely hopeless teams but it felt like the planets had aligned in that we all auto-locked with no support and simply stuck together looking out for each other. If that level of teamplay happened all the time you wouldn't need a support. So many times someone was nearly dead and one of us would look out for them as they made their way to a regentol. The CG tried to setup at the first annihilator but once the alarm was sounded she didn't stand a chance and was intimidated the rest of the match.

Man, sometimes you get put into a match where you just know you're dicked from the get-go. I decided to try a Pro I hadn't played much yet as well which I'm sure didn't help, but we had one guy quit the instant the match started, we had a Spark quit about five minutes in with 10 deaths and no kills, and we had no defender. Oh, and once again the concept of the Anni was foreign to my team.

It took a week but the random sperglords I've been playing with while I learned the basics of the game have broken me. I'll be trying to get into the steam group later today. I wish I saved the chatlog of my teammate screaming in rage as the other team triple-teamed us one at a time with a spark/assassin/veteran team-up that was terrifying in its simplicity: kacaw + 2 grapples, repeat.

Yeah after watching this and continunally being wrecked by Tutsumi (incredibly good Sharpshooter), I want to try my hand at it. The quicker rate of fire from the Sniper really appeals to me as I can usually get a good shot off, but the next shot takes far too long to trigger for my liking.

Yea that's that little thing called balance that you complain so much about, a team with healer is in a much better position than one without them, pretty obvious statement I know but still. And I can't imagine the lovely guys you are bumping into when you say they suck, I mean its not like I need precision shooting to heal you. Nerfing them into near uselessness and make them even more fragile than they already are(for a class with 0 mobility no less) is not the answer. We don't need more chars being bludgeoned to death with nerf bat like Wascot was. I'm dreading when CG goes free, I just know some lovely pubby will lock her in and never heal. RadicalWall posted:Taking bets on her being free this week. Yeah from what I've played with the Sniper, he's really only good for some decent burst damage and a great slow. If I get someone who's going into my ice trap, I'll usually toss the Flak to get a decent stream and try to get a shot or two off before it all wears off. Unless you're facing a dumb person you're not going to be able to really unload a clip full of headshots on someone, this is where I think Gunslinger shines. I admittedly called her Sharpshooter earlier in this thread too. I am dumb.

The key to handling Zutsumi's team is to have a Commando able to keep him harassed and unable to farm. Last time my team went up against his he went something like 3-8 because our Assassin was willing to die just to get kills on him so we could push lanes without having to worry about taking constant headshots. If your Commando runs Can't Slow This he's basically helpless.

Seems like they buffed Gunner's ability to stay in a fight, but made it harder for him to escape. It's nice because now he really has to be sure when to commit into a fight. The turret and moneyball shield changes are surprising, but also pretty nice since it keeps people from keeping them down indefinetily by plinking them. Also new map and new pretty clothes for my Barbie? Hell yeah!
