Well that was sweet. I hope when this game actually comes out properly they have a mercenary-style queue so I can stop running headlong into premades where our team gets 3 kills total and has two guys with 20+ deaths while the other team literally just spawncamps us while we can't do anything.

It's probably like playing medic in TF2, the difference between having a halfway decent one and not having a medic (or having one that's actively useless) is huge and goes beyond whatever that player would have added to the team as any other class. However he's exceptionally weak on his own, doesn't really have much to do beyond healbot and try to avoid getting shot, and generally isn't enjoyable to play by anyone who isn't naturally drawn to passive support classes. That's how I feel about him and CG after seeing how matches play out, the team that has the more competent Support/CGs usually ends up winning. I suppose that could change having not ever seen a team without any support class so who knows. Though we just did win a really grueling match against a team who had us penned up, we fought off at least 10 jackbots that I was in on, our team didn't understand that you need to damage bots to win and was underleveled most of the time. Other guy sneaks in an annihliator as our moneyball is getting pounded on by yet another jackbot, I'm right there fighting it and take the opportunity to grab a jackbot+little bots of our own, smear the Megabeth carrying the enemy team and their CG/Support duo, fight our way all the way through all their poo poo, our CG/Support pair sets up a bunch of cats and a turret on their moneyball while I run around getting a couple kills including the Megabeth respawn, turrets blow up the moneyball and end what felt like an hourlong match. I've had several of these hilarious never-say-die comebacks in the 20 or so games I've played so far, reminds me a lot of what happens a lot at my (low) level of LoL. Probably the whole deal where getting aced or at least losing all your important players at once near the end of the game gives the other team a gigantic opportunity to reverse and win at lightning speed. I've got to say I much prefer this to the old overtime system, it's just as capricious and offers an incentive to keep fighting but it's also much more fair because it requires a pretty big mistake by the winning team to set up, rather than "force a stalemate, have assassins or assaults ready with juice" Celestatiune fucked around with this message at Feb 29, 2012 around 17:07 |

Blarfo posted:I've played about 90 rounds of this game and I have concluded to my own tastes it is just the worst game. I've never seen a close match, win or lose, and you can almost always tell which team is going to win in the first 5 minutes just by realizing that one team has players completely ignoring bots and getting vastly outleveled. Yeah, I've been giving it a shot but even when I win it just feels like it's because the other team didn't do things well. Kills take so long to get unless there's a veteran to initiate them or something, or a superfed commando and I have no idea how they get so fed since the two times I tried playing one I was worse than useless no matter what I did. It's a shame, I really wish they'd supported MNC better instead of making this.
