I'm not sure "good guy" and "bad guy" even make sense as labels when we're dealing with an entity that can completely change memory. Your personality and future actions are shaped by your experiences and memory of those experiences.

The entity also causes (or is attracted to?) a general malaise involving coughing and headaches. When you are sick or in pain it is normal to be grumpy or petulant, and act more like a bad guy than a nice guy because you don't feel well. That isn't an excuse for Alex murdering a guy, but it could excuse him being cranky and erratic.

Then we have very odd behavior like Masky bouncing around Jay's room watching him sleep. Is he a bad guy threatening Jay or a good guy guarding Jay? Or maybe just a weirdo? A bro just waiting for his fellow mask dude to wake up? It isn't obvious what is supposed to be going on there.

At the end we may find that none of them can be pidgin holed as simply good guys or bad guys.

Jay seems to be a good guy at heart, just incredibly dumb. That's all we can really say for sure as far as labels go, though.

Entry was okay. Didn't really feel like we learned anything - I figured from the way that Tim described it in Entry 59 that it had been going on for a good long while - or at least if not his blackouts then his problems. I guess we're left with a couple of implications; if the headaches/coughing/horrible feelings are caused by the Operator, then the Operator's probably been around Tim his whole life, but presumably without his knowledge until now, considering he describes it as just "that thing that's stalking Alex". Unless, of course... 'he is a liar'.

Otherwise, Tim is just a poor hosed up little kid whose already-debilitating mental problems were exacerbated and focused by exposure to the Operator. Either way, I want Entry 61 already.

When it says Tim had been suffering from "hallucinations", could that be when he'd seen the Operator, and the doctors hadn't believed that it was real?

I think it's safe to assume that not-Tim left the folder at the end of the tunnel because of the picture.

But the only information in the folder was that Tim has had a history of medical/mental issues ... which we already knew. And the "LIAR" part seems to be calling Tim out for what's IN the folder ... but Tim's been upfront with J the entire time (though not forthcoming or specific) about being "sick".

I'm watching DarkHarvest at long last, pretty much entirely because people kept going on about how great that one video of theirs is. I'm not there yet but so far it's actually pretty good, better than TwelveTribe or TJAProjects by far. It's not really scary or anything, but I actually kind of care about these people, which is novel. As Slenderman poo poo goes it's pretty decent. So thanks for the long-ago recommendation I guess

Part of its appeal was also that it had regular updates, but has now fallen into the same dark hole as every other slenderman series. The Marble Hornets episodes may take a while to come out, but at least we know they are coming.

Ugh, that's a shame. MH is the only one that can keep to a decent schedule, it seems. I know there's an EMH entry coming soon. Has TwelveTribe died completely? At least it'll keep that one guy from posting obsessively in the TT thread, which has hopefully fallen into archives by now. And I think I heard about TJAProjects restarting soon...? Did I dream that?

It seems like most groups who make these Slenderman series bite off way more than they can chew, planning a totally epic 100 entry story arc. That sounds cool, til summer vacation ends or you get a job or whatever and the project dies on the vine. I'm pretty impressed by what the Dark Harvest guys are doing, though, since they appear to be about 16. It just sucks that a bunch of these interesting projects like DH / EMH / Tribe Twelve will probably never get wrapped up because the creators were too ambitious.

That's one thing I appreciated about TJA Projects. The story went off the rails near the end, but at least it had an end. You can tell a pretty compelling story from beginning to end across a couple dozen short "entries", they don't all need to be the YouTube 10 minute max.

As an aside, I'm surprised by the number of actors the DH guys have gotten involved. A few of the cult and party scenes have updwards of a dozen people on screen. Not bad for a nerdy internet thing

/end armchair directing

^^^ edit I got a tweet from TJA Projects a while back but I was hoping one of them just got drunk and decided it was a good idea to play around. If it actually resumes after a fairly definitive and satisfactory finale that would be kind of disappointing IMO.

Absolutely, it was goddamn brilliant up to that point, having an actual fresh and relatively unique presentation.

I can't remember which Dark Harvest entry was my favorite, but I know it was actually before My Final Betrayal, I thought they did a good job of having creepy things going on with a large cast, as opposed to MH where you're lucky if a video has more than one person in it these days.

Hey guys, who wants a Marble Hornets contest? You do? Well that's perfect because we happen to have one for you RIGHT NOW. As you ALL should know by now, we will be attending GMX in October. We are looking to make our display a bit more impressive than a hand-scribbled sign that says "Marble Hornets" on it like last year. With that in mind, we are going to be getting a banner for our table.

So here's the deal, we aren't very good at drawing (except Troy Wagner but he is busy with dogdog) so we want to give the fans, you guys, a chance to flex those artistic muscles. We want you to send us your designs and whichever one we like the best will be the one that represents us at our booth for GMX and any other conventions we get to attend! The dimensions are either going to be 33"x79" or 36"x79" so keep that in mind when doing your designs. Please submit your designs to one of us on tumblr or a private message on facebook just so we can keep track of them better. A design that just gets posted on our walls could get lost through the cracks and we don't want that.

Don't feel stifled when thinking up something but do keep in mind that this will be representing a horror series and we are looking for something that reflects that. If you want to draw us flying a luck dragon through North Korea that is fine too, we will still look at it!

Soooo... get to arting it up!

Preeeetty sure our friend in the hoodie is TTA. We know that he and Tim were working together at some point which would explain Tim's appearance in some of the earlier TTA videos. If Tim was ever "part" of TTA, he seems to have left, probably in some vain attempt to have a normal life. The unusual lowercase title and the description "waitingon you" make me think this video is directed at Tim, telling him to get back in the mask and finish this.

Or, poor Hoodie just wants his friend back. He thought what they had was special. They were like PB and J! Batman and Robin!

Has the theory been made yet that maybe the whole "Jay once went through a door and didn't come out the other end" thing that was brought up and dropped could have been a hint that there's some funky time travel going on, and maybe Masky TTA is somehow some sort of weird time traveling Jay trying to stop himself/help himself out?

I realize this is probably a hugely retarded theory, but given some of the other theories this thread has gotten through the years, I'd say this is only in the middle-area of crazy. I mainly just want them to explain why they had Jay go through that door and not come out the other side.
