We got a while until s3 starts, so it'd be a good time to catch up to the series. I'm watching season 1 again and I'm eagerly awaiting my season 2 DVD to come in, too.

In goofier news, apparently Tim's dad homebrews beer (me too!). This needs to be available for purchase immediately.

I read this thread and ran out to my mailbox. Got it! Mine has some beautiful stamps on it. Lamps and Chistmas stamps.

Commentary is really good too. Menus are still weird however. It does not like my Playstation.

EDIT: Watch the "hidden" trailer on disc two right now. Holy poo poo, it's just amazing.

It had to watch it twice because I was laughing too much at the beginning that I missed a joke.

I recommended the show to one of my teachers. He marathoned all two seasons and now he won't take anymore video recommendations from me.

I'm rewatching all of it now with my parents. Mom is scared of it and dad is analyzing hotels.

Does he travel a lot and thinks he's seen that place before?
I know he hasn't been to Georgia, but apparently many hotels are the same because he was giving me a rundown on the whole floor plan. He even figured out the woman next door. Maybe he's a fat hairy Operator.

Wait a second. Is skimasky also the second masky? Or is there just a lot of dudes who wish to remain anonymous?

Is that last bit using the sound from the second or third TTA vid? I hope so because it looks like we might be getting some answers finally.

A little more professional, but still funny and it's not broken up by entries. It's now one full commentary.

I'd be unbelievably surprised if that turned out to be because of a broken string, that would be an effect they went for on purpose. Gonna watch the S1 DVD with commentary again this weekend and find out, because for whatever reason I am convinced it was in there.

I watched the commentary a few dozen times. You made that fact up.

Yes. They are excellent and include some cool extras and bitchin' commentary.

This video had an extra layer of creepy for me. It happens to be dark and stormy in my part of the world. Not to mention those windows and blinds Skimasky crawls through look awfully familiar in my house

I'm still waiting for someone to make a more legit Slenderman series. You know, one that isn't a found footage/POV series.

Liar Lyre
Jun 3, 2011

Slenderman is really a modern horror and myth in many ways. It started on the 'net and evolved on it. It was never copyrighted so it belongs to the people who make their own versions on forms of social media. And Slenderman's abilities are related to modern technology that nearly everyone has. This phenomenon could really only happen in this little time period. It would have never happened a decade ago and it probably wouldn't fit in the next decade. This has become a once a generation thing. I feel privileged for having seen it from the start.

Has there been a cosmic horror style Slenderman story? Like someone discovers him and goes mad from trying to solve the mystery without a lot of Slenderman necessarily. Like he could be stalked and haunted by him or maybe he just finds artifacts related to him and goes mad by proxy. I think that'd be a cool story.

So what's the deal with this video? As in, what are the implications of it being on Fox or whatever.

Well at the end is a bunch of legal jargon including a copyright for the FOX broadcasting company. But it looks like some kinda animated clipshow. Sort of like Robot Chicken. I really enjoyed the video and liked the different approach. It's always a handy cam horror series, so it was nice to see a happy little song for a misunderstood slender man.

Can someone tell me about this show? Is it a horror show? How long is each episode?

Is there anything to compare it to?

It's a horror/mystery show. Episodes range from 30 seconds to nearly 20 minutes. It's pretty good and free, so just plow through it in a week.

Everyman Hybrid starts off pretty cool then goes off the rails around the trials of Habit. I've heard they are enjoying a bit of a comeback but haven't checked it out myself.

In my opinion Tribe12 starts off kinda weak, hits a lot of the same notes Marble Hornets did then gets stronger as it goes. Also, Noah from T12 released a pretty awesome joke entry that I can't seem to find.

As far as MH goes, yeah just watch it and if it doesn't click then I guess you aren't a fan.

What about DarkHarvest? Still going on? I remember a fair amount of praise for them.
