Wow and with that, I think Joey may actually be a genuinely terrible warlord (in character that is). Maybe if he actually paid his party or inspired them a few more would still be with him. His perseverance is still impressive though, even when he's not entirely sure what his motivation is.

Hooray! I hope you like this stuff and I can't say enough nice things about Wade, the PR guy that got us that permission. When you're listening keep in mind that the rules are an an unpolished, unfinished state; and we're pretty new to them. (We get better). We did the adventure in three sessions, and the plan is to give you all one session per day. We also have some of our own character art coming, and we'll be recording a traditional-type podcast discussing our experiences too.

Goodbye medibot, I certainly hope you're able to come back down the line, your character was definitely one of my favourites, and you will be greatly missed ![]() Going to watch the new stuff tomorrow, but 13th Age sounds awesome so far.

Eventhough you thought you were doing it wrong that one time. Best wishes for you, hope to see you again down the line. You know, Lennard could just stumble into a portal to syrgomension. Danceoff part 2? Thanks for the bonus material guys! Now folding laundry is not going to be hell´a boring.

Playtest Session 2: a, b, c Once more, thanks to Fire Opal Media and Pelgrane Press, who gave us special permission to record and post our playtest sessions. The third and final playtest is delayed slightly because somewhere in the middle of editing them half-asleep I hosed up the sync between two tracks. Oops. Let's fix that before we let these out. Speaking of art, curious to see what it would produce, I gave the unofficial thread-artist DoodleMoogle nothing but descriptions of the characters without their personalities/any material from the playtest, curious to see what his brain would do for the characters where ours would probably be in a different direction. All the information he got posted:How about you try on this for size: an elven cleric (male), a half-elven rogue (female), a pair of bards (half-elven female, dwarven male), an undead ranger (male) and an elven female ranger (probably dressed as a human). The two he's finished thus far, with the rest probably now tainted by these podcasts coming out, were Kalin and Bryde. Also looking at that I think Drakkel is free to hit me because somehow I forgot his character when I gave that info out weeks ago. Oops. Syrg Sapphire posted:Playtest Session 2: a, b, c You know. The playtest period was declared over, and then it wasn't, so what we are and aren't allowed to talk about is unclear. Since Rob Heinsoo, the designer, put a picture of the map up on the game's website I'm assuming it's fair game. I've made a red smudge where I put our Boltstrike Village. Playtest Session 3: a, b, c, d You might be confused what happens between A and B. Ironicus accidentally hit the "shut down" button on his PC. It sort of screwed things up! (Also Plaz is using a backup mic in this one and I cleaned it up as best I could but uh. Not the best.) I would post the cut audio from between the two for you all but it's really, really tiny. So instead I made it a video on the youtube as a test of how HD content renders, because my new monitor allows me to do so. Hopefully this video will encode and upload relatively well so I can finish some long-threatened projects. I make no apologies for the end of the playtest. None whatsoever. You'll see what I mean when you get there.

And thank you for sharing your playtest sessions. 13th Age got on a lot of people's radars for the first time after Round Two was underway, and they've been dying for a look at what the game is like in play. They'll appreciate this. Syrg Sapphire posted:I make no apologies for the end of the playtest. None whatsoever. You'll see what I mean when you get there. I'm going to do an AP links round-up entry on the Pelgrane Press blog soon. Is a post going up that will link to all of the files at once? Or should I link to these individual posts? General Ironicus posted:The playtest period was declared over, and then it wasn't, so what we are and aren't allowed to talk about is unclear. The playtest period is indeed over. However, playtesters who didn't send their reports in by the Jun 7 deadline are getting a break: they can send them in any time before the game goes on pre-order. A formal email will go out soon announcing that people who got their reports in can talk publicly about the game, but I gave the folks in the 13th Age thread a heads up because I know a lot of them have recordings they want to share. And as the PR guy, I want word to get out.

Anyway, I haven't listened to the 13th Age podcasts yet, but I'm interested in what it offers. There's a few problems I've found with 4e and hopefully those can be ironed out in a new system. I skimmed the TG thread a bit, but with the NDA up at the time, I was a little disappointed. Maybe these podcasts will change my mind. Also, sucks to hear about Medibot. Hopefully he comes back at some point in the future. The party won't be the same without their universal translator.

So if you've been enjoying this little side game I'd recommend preordering The 13th Age Escalation Edition. For $50 you get the finished hardback game on release, and also a stack of kickstarter-like rewards: First refusal on the Limited Edition Signed postcards Your name in the credits The PDF of the playtest rules which will be upgraded to a PDF of the final rules then upgraded again to the final layout version of the book The first part of the forthcoming adventure The Escalation Edition web badge.
