I guess it's because 1. trying to return 225+kg to your shoulders from overhead will destroy you over a lifetime of training and lifting, and 2. lifting in a cage is suicidal because sometimes the weight takes you for a walk (like Klokov's snatch which you linked to). Wouldn't surprise me if Klokov had someone helping him load and unload his weights... bloke probably spends eight hours a day training. Maybe that's a job for the coaches or junior lifters?

New page new photograph. Living my life like some kind of cultural stereotype. PWO nutrition of roast beef and onion gravy sandwiches whilst reading football news.

Gonna go to the record shop in town and try to find a record player for my new collection and a copy of Miles Davis's Kind of Blue. Then I need to do a few hrs of studying and tonight I think I am going bowling and then watching Mad Men with friends. Life is grand.

They didn't have it, in fact the only Davis record they had was 'You're Under Arrest' and I wasn't about to spend money on that. Nearly bought Cat Stevens's 'Teaser and the Firecat' and Elvis Costello's 'My Aim Is True' but picked up a Billie Holiday record and a Beethoven piano sonatas box set instead. Also turns out we have a record player in the attic so I think I'm sorted now. Sweet.

Gonna order Kind of Blue online when I have a bit of cash to spare.

That said I fell asleep at like 9.30pm last night and woke up an hour ago... it's 1.45am now and I feel refreshed like I've just had a nap. Need to get back to sleep somehow because in the morning I'm gonna be training legs.

Also I watched all of series one of Game of Thrones in the last 24 hrs and it loving RUUULES!!! Can't believe I didn't watch this poo poo when my friends were telling me about it last year. If Dexter and Breaking Bad live up to the hype (I've seen neither of these, too) then I've got a lot of good television to watch.

Bless me Strumpy for I have sinned, I spent last night drinking Fosters.

I train my legs on Fridays and also seem to get drunk on Fridays, and when I am drunk I eat very little and sleep very little. This means my DOMS on Saturdays is always hell. I was at a gathering last night and an ~old flame~ from my teenage years was there, and when everyone went to bed we stayed up and talked for a while. She bitched to me about her boyfriend and started coming onto me and I had to tell her to pack it in. I don't want to be the lad who is responsible for another lad feeling like poo poo when he finds out his gf cheated on him.

Decided to take a rest day today and will workout tomorrow instead, so I spent the afternoon with my American grandad. He was born into a South Dakotan family of eight kids during the Depression, and when he was 17 he hitchhiked down to California where he found work in a shipyard. He was only there for about six months before the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbour, after which he was conscripted into what was then known as the US Army Air Force. He was brought over to Britain on a troop ship and spent several months in Ireland in gunnery school, after which he was stationed at RAF Mildenhall and flew sorties over Europe in a B24 Liberator. After VE Day he and his crew were redeployed to Guam where by the sounds of it he played a lot of baseball and got bitten by a lot of mosquitoes.

My grandad is Varyl Gannaway, third from the left on the front row. Also, n.b. the name of the aeroplane.

He was demobilised after the war but like a lot of young men re-enlisted and spent about twenty five years in service. Ended up being stationed back in England where he met my gran whilst on leave in Manchester, and after they got married they were back and forth to the US for a few years. One of their kids, my mum, was born in Boston MA -- making me an American citizen. But he has spent most of his adult life in England. This is his front room, most probably the only front room in England with a large portrait of John Wayne on the wall. I guess all this stuff stops him from feeling too homesick.

Welp that's the story of my grandad, cya later~

Thanks mate. She sent me a Facebook message last night apologising for being "a bit too provocative"... yeah that doesn't quite describe it love, but whatever.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vh9YnjFdtLs
Things to note: the bottom of my ROM is db handles level with the top of my ears, but it's hard to see from this low angle; my ridiculous over the top manners, I think I thanked the lad helping me at least three times; the local accent of the personal trainer throughout the video

15kg x 15, 15, 15

Dips

Just don't feel like adding weight to my dips at this point in the workout. Whenever I switch up my routine I'm gonna make weighted dips the primary movement for chest day because I love doing them.

Seated incline db curl (RP)
15kg x 10, 10, 8

Edit: seeing this it blows my mind how "close" everything over there is. A drive like that here only goes through a few states, in europe it's several countries.

My paternal grandfather served in the US Army at D-Day in Normandy and was stationed in England for some time. His family had emigrated just a few years before his birth from Newcastle upon Tyne. Which is apparently now well-known for having Britain's version of Jersey Shore. Because the US version just wasn't enough, apparently.
