There are a few in there that clearly do get it but it's incredibly difficult not to get exasperated all things considered. You just can not understand my disappointment in finally watching and catching up this summer and anticipating the after show discussions.

As bad as the TVIV Breaking Bad thread can be, it's still not as bad as one of the ones at Penny Arcade, where a guy blamed everything that happens on Skyler. See the only reason Walt starts/keeps selling meth is because he feels emasculated by that nagging shrew of a wife and how dare she be resistant to the idea that her husband is a meth cook. He actually used the word "emasculated". I swear to god I wanted to die.

If I gave a poo poo about the characters on Breaking Bad I'd probably read the TV/IV thread or maybe start watching the show again or something. Anyway, here's an unfolding drama: http://forums.somethingawful.com/sh...40&pagenumber=1 Guy catches his creepy roommate holding a Smart Phone against a vent that leads into the OPs bedroom, presumably to records the sounds of the OP and his girlfriend having noisy sex. What does the OP do about this? Kick the creeper's rear end? Tell his girlfriend? Bust the creeper in the act of recording and threaten to expose him as a creeper? Get a restraining order? Buy two ball gags so the happy couple makes less noise during sex? Why, no, none of the above. In typical goony fashion, the OP does nothing that would actually solve the problem and instead, walks around miffed and stuff and doesn't even tell his girlfriend. "Oh, how boring, he doesn't do anything? Why are you telling us about this thread, then?" you may be wondering. Well, the E/N "advice" about the situation is well worth reading the thread. Oh E/N

This one isn't really that funny to me after thinking about it because the goon involved is obviously sincerely autistic and can't quite get it through his hosed up brain that he can fix the problems he has. Well, after flipping out about jokes for a few pages he posted that he's basically going to buy a shotgun and go Omar on a mirror. So I guess admins or mods this is a situation in which it would be an ownage manuver to alert someone so that he doesn't die. http://forums.somethingawful.com/sh...hreadid=3500402

I love the Breaking Bad thread because where else am I going to talk about the Best Show On Television but I hate it because it's basically a four-way battle between the really deranged misogynists who seem to have this voice in their head screaming stinkyhole stinkyhole stinkyhole stinkyhole every time Anna Gunn comes on screen, the sociopaths who are like "yes, everything Walter has done is completely reasonable and how I would behave in his situation", the people who conflate disliking Skyler with being a misogynist and get all every time someone is called out on being creepy, and people like me who just want to watch the loving show because it's a goddamn great show.Oh, and recently there was a derail with some people from TCC insisting that the manufacture and sale of crystal meth is, in fact, not the least bit dodgy from an ethical standpoint and people can do drugs responsibly you know and it's not Walt's fault if addicts can't control themselves, all he's doing is supplying a need Basically anything stupid that can be said about women, drugs, crime, storytelling, morality, or cops will probably show up in the Breaking Bad thread. I haven't seen the Korra thread but I wonder if it is really as bad as the Breaking Bad thread gets.

Korra thread is not nearly as bad as the breaking bad thread given what I have heard of the breaking bad thread. It was annoying. There was a character who wore a mask and people kept making funny/serious/dumb guesses as to who he was every five posts and that's why the thread was temporarily closed. There wasn't much that was worse that I can remember or that anyone else had touched on. Yeah, there was a lot of political discussion but the writers invited that discussion with how they framed the villains, AND because the last series had been full of eastern mysticism and difficult issues handled intelligently. Korra just turned out to not be that smart a show. I am very mad at this. ![]() Apparently someone got so mad at spiderhyphenman for closing the thread that he posed as spiderhyphenman and started harassing the mods about my little pony, so the thread will not be closed again.

Basically the trainwreck in Korra came at the end when a lot of us (me included) sperged too hard about the ending, mainly because they did the typical cartoon 'and the finale is a double episode!' thing and we felt it was rushed or sloppily done. So basically at that point of the thread it's just posts of 'wait what? This is dumb' snowballing and feeding off eachother to go from 'this is a dumb ending' to 'THIS IS THE WORST THING'. Then of course add in the typical internet 'someone disagrees? Well now I must prove they're objectively wrong about their enjoyment/not-enjoyment of this', and the people who couldn't accept 'nah, I'm not a fan of the show' being idiots in the general chat thread. Also, yea, the OP had his own little ruleset where he wanted the show to be taken super seriously, y'all, so that made it weird.

Quite a few years ago somebody posted a thread in GBS about some photo he took of his "lil bro" that had a ghostly apparition of a gerbil or something in it. It was a pretty dumb thread that lost traction pretty quickly and died off. The weird thing it about and the reason I'm posting about this is that the guy posted the exact same thread verbatim like an entire year later.
