Any UK goons know how reasonable Myprotein are when something goes tits up? I made my first order there on Thursday and it looks like it's been delivered to the wrong address (delivery driver left £100 of swole in someone's back garden). YODEL are refusing to deal despite it being their mistake.

I tried my mango flavored protein from American Whey today and I was pleasantly surprised. There was not an overpowering mango flavor and it had just the right sweetness. Would definitely try it again, but still have 5lbs of strawberry to go through after im finished with that. Forgot to include that it mixes well, just a little foamy. dms666 fucked around with this message at Mar 13, 2012 around 22:54 |

+1 for Bulknutrients for all Aus goons. Picked up 1kg of Creatine Ethyl Ester, 250g BCAAs and 5g of 1,3 - dimethylamine. Should go well with the 5kg of ON Serious Mass I already have.

Hey brothers, I received my American Pure Whey order today. I got six flavors in all with their Whey Protein Matrix, and have tried three of them so far. I will say that the mixability is slightly below what I'm used to with True Protein's stuff, but it still mixes just fine in my blender bottle, so no real problems there. On to the reviews Cake Batter: Yep. drat tasty. Tastes just like cake batter. Peach Apricot: The flavor here seemed milder than Cake Batter's. It was still good, and it tasted like, well, peaches and apricots. Cinnamon Bun: I still have the basic chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry flavors to try, but cinnamon bun is so unbelievably tasty, I don't care if those taste like gangrenous concrete; American Pure Whey just got itself another customer.

I don't know what it is with phenibut, but I never take it yet still seem to have an amazing tolerance to it. I can take 2g and I notice it, but not that much, and I have no trouble knocking back a lot of booze on it without getting too wasted. I wish it had more of an effect on me, as it's a lot less calories than booze. Shouldn't the stimulants section talk about the ECA stack and yohimbine? I personally don't feel great on yohimibine so I wouldn't want to use it as extra energy for working out, but I think some people do really like it.

Yodel drivers are loving idiots at the best of times, if you are spending over £100 (or even if you are spending less) I'd opt for DPD delivery if available. Did you specify in the delivery instructions to leave it in your back garden or did the Yodel bloke just decide it was too heavy to carry it back to his van? Just ordered two 2-LB tubs of protein from American Pure Whey. Peanut Butter Chocolate and Cinnamon Bun (this better be awesome, Zugzwang) and used the 20% off coupon in the OP. 38 bucks after shipping and discount for 4 pounds of protein, would have been around the same with a 5 pound tub of one flavor. That's a pretty good deal. If this protein tastes as good as you guys say, I'll have to order in larger quantity for SUPER DISCOUNTZ

APW Cake Batter with water is not good. (Or at least not my cup of tea.) It's like vanilla cake frosting but waaay too thin. I'll try it for dessert with milk, but right now.....blegh.

Just got my... 35 pounds of APW. Packaging held up, of course the thing was filled with packing peanuts, combined with plastic and dry powder creating a static cling mess during the unboxing. The whole package wasn't as shady as I was expecting. Everything had stickers with batch numbers and expiration dates (in 2014). The tubs were nice and the 10lb bags were actually thick, high quality resealable bags and not the rumored trash-bag with zip-tie combo I read about. First off, all my reviews are mixing with warm water because I don't have my shaker on me. All the stuff (except chocolate) seems to mix pretty well. The powder on all of these is super fine; shifting a container will mist the air with the stuff. They all are thickened with Xanthan Gum and hence have a thin goop consistency, as opposed to the creamier whey brands that use Soy Lecithin instead. Cake Batter 5lb Tub - Overly sweet for my taste and a bit an artificial "twinge" to it. I do bet this would be good in milk but I don't drink milk. Interestingly the tub didn't have an internal paper safety lid although the berry flavors both did. Hmm. Blueberry 5lb Tub - Someone pegged this as "like a blueberry donut" and I'd say that is a fair assessment. If there is a scoop somewhere in this tub, I sure as hell can't find it. Strawberry 5lb Tub - Off-brand strawberry sugar-free Kool-Aid. Unlike the previous two flavors, this white powder actually turned red when I added water. That was alarming to me since the ingredients list on the tub acknowledges the flavor and yet in no way mentions food coloring. Chocolate 10lb bag - Whhhhhat the? There's big clumps of brown speckled through the whole bag. Picking one up (penny gumball sized) and pressing between my thumb and forefinger made it crumble into apparently cocoa powder. It's as if they took unflavored whey then tossed in splenda and a big clump of damp cocoa powder and shook it for a few minutes. Mixes notably worse than the other flavors which makes sense since the ingredients didn't mix with each other in the first place. Hints of bitterness. Kind of a cheap gross Swiss Miss. Vanilla 10lb bag - A dead ringer for the Cake Batter, maybe a little less sweet, but exact same taste, which is to say, nothing like vanilla. All in all, nothing that I would call "good tasting" in water. Nothing made me outright wretch either. Considering how I'm swigging 8oz of the stuff post workout I'll happily deal with it for the price. Or maybe find some Hood Calorie Countdown milk to mix it with. My whole reasoning for five flavors is the variety would offset any awfulness and that theory seems to have played out satisfactorily.

Thanks to everyone biting the bullet and posting reviews of the flavors. Has anyone that bought the APW Cake Batter tried the Optimum Nutrition version to compare? I wanted to order a tub of that but there is no way in hell I'm paying 53 bucks when I can get practically the same flavor for almost half of that.

The powder is pretty dense. The label says that each scoop is 33 grams, but - no poo poo - I was getting about 55 grams per scoop with cinnamon bun.

Zugzwang posted:Why the gently caress would it taste good in warm water? Because ON tastes like hot chocolate, and my favorite EAS tastes like delicious warm vanilla milk that I sip all night. Wishful thinking I guess. Those cost twice as much and taste more than twice as good. But, at the end of the day what matters is the protein. Is there a semi-scientific way to see if this contains the grams of protein it claims?

Got my order of chocolate in today. Unfortunately I ordered a 10lb bag and only got a 5 (e: I thought all 5-pounders came in tubs but this was a bag, oddly). No big deal as I get the chance to possibly replace the other 5 with cinnamon bun. Chocolate is so drat sweet in milk. Way sweeter than ON, almost a bad thing but I think I'm going to like it. I didn't notice any clumps in mine; just went back and looked again and I think I see what you're talking about but mine are about the size of a grain of rice.

Actually, the little blurb when you go to contact them says this (emphasis mine):quote:American Pure Whey's Shipping Policy The bag size is about the same as my previous 5lb ON bottle though, and the scoops are roughly the same size and are supposedly the same weight (ON 30g vs APW 33g). A scoop of APW does feel much heavier in my hand though. Wish I had a scale I could weight this entire bag with. Anyone ordered 10lbs of a single flavor recently and had this happen to them? I'm starting to think they're just cheap on labeling, and the scoops are larger than stated, which would be totally fine if it gets me cheaper powder. A little confusing though.

Just got 1kg of Creatine Ethyl Ester HCl & 500g of BCAA's for $34 from smartpowders. Think I made a mistake with getting unflavored BCAA's though. This tastes bad, like, real bad. Tried the "man up" method of drinking it but it's not working so well. What's the best way to down this stuff? I got some crystal light, but I'm wondering if there's like edible paper of some kind that I can just bag it in and down it or something. VVV e: Sounds like the way to go, thanks. I'll try crystal light first, then go for scoop-to-gullet if that's too much effort. LCD Deathpanel fucked around with this message at Mar 15, 2012 around 00:00 |
