Also, I'm getting random hilarious ragdoll glitches/behaviors. Like when Shep and Liara are chatting in her cabin, they both turn their heads all the way to the right and left.

Much like in ME2, the tile grout used at the intersection of the Normandy's floors and walls is just absolutely loving fascinating.

I'm just a little disappointed with what Bioware gave us so far. Still, it could be worse!

In all honesty, this was the most likely outcome to begin with. They aren't gonna hit this one out of the park like they've done in the past; in even the best-case scenario, the structural issues that have been showing for the past four years are kinda starting to compound on themselves, and while they might be aware of problems awareness is not a substitute for a solution.

Game ain't gonna be terrible, but it's going to have some serious flaws that only the deeply devoted will be able to overlook. It will get its 9/10s, its 5/5s, and its host of reviewers competing to come up with the best tagline to be slapped on the inevitable Mass Effect 3: Ultimate Edition. And in a month or two, player opinions should stabilize around 'not what it could have been, and not what it should have been, but if you can set aside (THING THAT WAS INDIVIDUAL PERSON'S WAIT WHAT THE gently caress MOMENT) it's an alright game.'

Man, gently caress you Daletress. (Tuchanka spoilers)Not going to screw over three of my friends because you're a whiny little bitch who wants to genocide a race for a 'maybe'.

That kinda pissed me off, honestly. Because while the Dalatress makes some pretty good points, thanks to Bioware Narrative Conventions you know for a fact the Krogan won't be a problem in the future. Much as you knew saving the Rachni was going to be totally consequence-free. If they had a negative repercussion it would be a complete game-changer, a choice that would change vast segments of the plot around, and as such you can safely assume it will never, ever happen.

I moved onto several other topics before I was quoted from the previous page. I can see how my posting can be conceived as homophobia but If the first 3 conversations you had with your squadmates ever were with Traynor, Vega, and Cortez and they all said those lines of dialogue I can't see how you wouldn't groan. I have both a very close lesbian and gay friend (hurr my friend is black, so I'm not racist, but still) in my life and I know for a fact I have nothing wrong with that lifestyle. I do however have an issue with how it's presented thus far in my short 3 hour stint into this game. Like I mentioned before, you can titty gently caress blue bitches and space sluts but even they don't beg for your cock the literal first time you meet them.

I should also add the emotion 'embarrassment' cannot be inflicted upon someone just because you say so. I don't feel embarrassed and this chat is frankly amusing with how stereotypically goon it is. In almost every thread ever there's always some derail when someone says something true like "wow she is a bitch" (because she's doing bitchy actions of course) but a dozen whiteknights pop out saying how the poster is being misogynistic even if he's completely right. Whatever, going back to playing the game.

He's not saying you're embarrassed. He's saying it's embarrassing watching a guy who played through two games of terrible flirty dialogue from anything with a vagina-analogue suddenly losing his poo poo at the fact A Gay Dude Is Doing The Same Thing.

It is embarrassing to remember that people like you exist.

A couple of questions, i haven't bought the game:

Does the Racnhi queen actually do anything?

Does the turian councilor have enough proof of Reapers now???

Yes! But don't worry, if you killed her the Reapers made another one. There is an actual change between the two, though.

And the Turian councilor has had enough proof, yes.

Just a quick one. The same old bug involving characters staring bottom-left and bottom-right's cropped up. Is this the same bug as in ME2, or just something similar?

Hm, the game seems confused as to whether or not I killed the rachni queen. When Wrex gives the mission, Shepard says "hey I killed them" and Wrex even says he was there (that was my ME1 choice and Wrex was there although I can't imagine it actually knew if he was in my squad or not), but Garrus said I didn't when we saw the first Ravager.

Look, dammit, they spent a lot of time and money creating the Reaper-Rachni (spoiler warning: there are rachni) and allowing you to skip that bullshit just because you took a choice explicitly designed to skip that potential bullshit in the future would just be unfair.

(also because it would mean a Renegade choice had an upside and quite frankly Bioware takes offense to that idea.)

That most of the choices you've made throughout the series actually have some sort of payoff in the game?

Remind me what happens if I killed the rachni because I didn't want to fight again.

Remind me what happens if I killed the council.

Remind me what happens if I made Anderson a Councillor.

Remind me what happens if I saved/destroyed the Reaper Base.

Remind me what happens if I killed (INSERT LITERALLY ANY MASS EFFECT 2 CHARACTER HERE.)

There are defenses that are easy to mount. That one? Not among them.

I'm really curious as to what changes if you do have dead ME2 characters, because pretty much every one I've met has done something significant that resulted in additional voice acting, frequently war assets, and generally badass moments.

Remember that fine gent, Urdnot Wreav? Same voice actor, same model, slightly different dialogue but performs the exact same purpose as his poor dead brother?

You're best off thinking along those lines.

Good news! Turns out there was more than one Salarian super-scientist who worked on the genophage and may/may not have had a change of heart, and coincidentally he's got all the information Mordin would have if, tragically, you didn't send him back with the crew during the suicide mission. Don't know if he sings Gilbert and Sullivan, though!

Uh with regard to the reapers' true purpose aren't they just stolen lock stock and barrel from the Revelation Space series by Alistair Reynolds?

My money's more on the anime inspiration pointed out elsewhere, but that's just because I have a low opinion of Bioware's writing staff. That particular villainous motivation has cropped up all over the place in sci-fi. It's one of the things I don't have a problem with; it's just about the only way you can make 'yup we harvest species for some reason' not dumb as hell.

Tali related mission Spoilers

I am told to upload the code or let the geth die, I helped tali every time I could in ME2, will uploading the code cause her to off herself?

Sometimes you have to make a lethal takedown. Stick with the geth. Genocide the Quarians. Then, later on, genocide the geth. And the Krogan. And the Rachni. Twice. Basically if Commander Mikaela "Always Selects Bottom-Right or Bottom-Left Response Regardless of Context" Shepard can genocide something it is going to be genocided. She shall reign over a galaxy of the dead and the dying, and when she sees a deus ex machina with an 'everything dies' button she's going to push it before the expository dialogue's even begun.

They will tell stories of the Shepard, but they will mostly be the kind you tell to frighten small children, not entertain them.
