I found it funny that the two of the endings were just "No Shepard, you are the Reapers. And then Shepard was the Reapers."

I think it mostly has to do with her being the only LI you cannot kill at any point in the games. Since everyone definitely will see her during ME3 and will have her alive at the end of the game she got the most work done for her animations and model. Plus Liara rules
