The rules of the game are impenetrable and the result is always contested.

Why do Casey Hudson and Mac Walters still have a job?

Because they made a fuckton of money for Bioware and EA.

By far the most insulting thing about the railroaded destruction of mass relays is that their original designers somehow became spacefaring and capable of intergalactic travel without inventing fuses.

Then again, it IS possible to get into orbit with Kerbal Space Program...

It feels like all the extended endings were just "it's ok to pick one of the color endings because we showed that (almost) everyone lives happily ever after instead of all the doom and gloom scenarios that the originals implied!"

That's not what a majority of players wanted, and that's not "closure."

Closure would be an individual cutscene (or hell, a slide) for each not-dead major character showing how they went out on brink of oblivion itself.
A "rocks fall, everyone dies" ending would be fine if Wrex and Grunt were shown tearing mobs of ravagers apart before finally getting overwhelmed.
A "rocks fall, everyone dies" ending would be fine if it showed Jack's squad firing off biotic explosions until they finally succumb to inevitable fatigue.
A "rocks fall, everyone dies" ending would be fine if it showed Miranda and Jacob thwarting phantoms and nemeses trying to sabotage the ground war through assassination.
Show us the mayhem on the Citadel through the experiences of Bailey and Aria as everyone is getting rounded up like cattle.
Show Garrus being Simo Häyhä until he runs out of ammo.

Most importantly, we want to see how Zaeed walks out of that loving mess as the only survivor.

Instead we got more exposition trying to justify a loving Deus Ex Machina ending, and if you didn't want a Deus Ex Machina ending, your only option is a brief game over, followed by Liara's black box that everyone expected to see in the ORIGINAL endings and didn't.

It wasn't even a polished turd, just a diluted one.

Yeah, one of the most consistent themes of Mass Effect, is being constantly told something is impossible and not even worth trying, and then because you're Commander loving Shepard, you go out and you do it anyway.

Having just finished reading the Steve Jobs biography, the idea that Shepard has the same reality distortion field makes a lot of "Do X." "No." ::P/R dialogue:: "Ok! " a lot more entertaining, if not sensible.

Guys, it actually happened.

Skoolmunkey's comics are now official canon.

I played it with a post-game save; does the main plot for the DLC segue directly into the party or can you do the main plot, then crash around the galaxy for a while picking up your bros, then throw the party right before the end? Or is it all fused together linearly?

Solution: New DLC for all 3 games with just new Shepard voice acting. 2 new voices for each gender. At the very least, Jane Lynch and Brian Blessed.

Just get all the actors who did the Boss in the Saints Row games. Bitchy russian femshep and jason statham manshep forever.
