Make a new party, pool money and equipment on one character, dismiss all the other characters, make new characters, pool money and equipment on that one character again. Repeat till you can buy good starting equipment for all characters.

There is actually a remake/clone called Planet M.U.L.E. While I still think that M.U.L.E. doesn't really need a remake, this is pretty cool actually. Thanks for this.

I have no problem with rape or child murder in a game (although there are people asking a little bit too loudly for it), if it is portrayed as an inherently bad thing.

The player character, however, should not be able to do these things, in my opinion.

Didn't the EU version of Fallout 2 not have children? I highly doubt the story or gameplay would be crippled by simply removing the option to kill kids on the console versions, and plenty of console games have rape stories (including New Vegas) so I'm pretty sure they could get away with anything short of the PC actually being able to rape people and just, why the Hell should that be in the game anyway? :psyduck:

Yeah, that's correct. They were lazy and simply removed the children sprites, which lead to invisible children you couldn't interact with, but that still had random dialogue played over their invisible heads. Also there was a quest chain that was unsolvable because of that.

Quarex posted:

Considering how many people are demanding rape and child murder in the game on the InXile forums, I doubt any console would allow the game to be published without significant revisions, and I doubt those revisions would be so simple as to guarantee that was a good direction to take.
Am I the only one that is just a little bit dusturbed by that? Some people are way too excited about that specific feature of the game. =/

Do we have a dedicated Kickstarter thread? I haven't been able to find one, so I'll assume this is the one. It's reasonable to assume new interesting projects will start popping up now that the model has proved to be so successful.

Anyway, this isn't a postapoc game, but it's a turn-based strategy RPG influenced by FFT and King of Dragon Pass so maybe someone will find it to his or her liking. The Banner Saga kickstarter is now live. It's being developed by a small team of ex-Bioware employees, and the art style is definitely far from Wasteland -- rather, it's cartoony in the manner of Eyvind Earle. Check out this interview as well if you want to know more about the team's vision for the game; I'm biased since I'm the one who took it, but I'd say it's a pretty interesting interview.

Sorry if this is a bit off-topic. The Kickstarter model sure is an exciting thing. :)

There actually is a dedicated The Banner Saga thread, started by one of the designers of the game, which should get more love.
