I sort of agree that sushi is being way too uptight about WIP pics but in fairness to him he did say that he was going to do exactly that, and I think he even said "I'm gonna be a huge inflexible rear end about this guys so heads up" so it's not like this should be a surprise. E: that came off as more hostile to sushi than I meant it to, sorry

Oathing Mekboss Buzzgob and assistants, also the 25th Anniversary Diorama. Hopefully I did that right. That poor Buzzgob has sat around WAY too long. He deserves to be painted.

I made mention several times before that I would be unwavering about WIP photos. I am neither being unreasonable nor am I being unfair. If you feel I'm being a hardass, then I'm doing the job I was tasked with. We set the rules out well in advance, explained them as completely as we could, opened them up for discussion, clarified any problems, all before the first WIP photo was put up. We have given everyone a fair and even guideline, ample chance to review and process the information. If the guidelines can't be followed, then points will be missed out on for the month. Simple enough. I can't, do not want to nor will I force anyone to obey the rules for WIP. But I will uphold them as best that I can and give you all every opportunity to get those points. Tough love and all that. Mmtheblue posted:WIP Fyrbrand posted:WIP Accepted.

Oath question: I want to do a Warmachine/Hordes dragoon, which consists of a mounted model and a dismounted model, but which are the same unit in the game (starts mounted, takes damage and continues on foot). Will this count as 2 models for oathing purposes, or one? I am assuming 2 but wanted to clarify. For reference: ![]() (From PP)

I will no longer be discussing my reasoning nor my methods. If it bothers you, I accept and understand that. If you wish to participate, we encourage that you do so, and that you observe and follow all guidelines and rules laid out in the OP and as it is amended in latter posts. That is all I have to say on the matter. If I have offended anyone, that was not my intent nor my goal, and I will apologize for such actions. Now, onto business: Stonefish posted:WIP Accepted.

As fun as rules disputes are, have a WIP picture instead!![]() The one on the left is the 10th member of the Tactical squad. I didn't oath all 10 since he was my tester model for my Raptors, but I figure I'll include him as a comparison. I'm working on getting the basecoats out of the way first. Unfortunately, Raptors don't look all that exciting until they've been highlighted but you can see how they start out at least. The guy on the right has had a basecoat of Catachan followed up with a wash of Badab and then Catachan applied again to clean up the edges. Once that's finished, I can move on to the details. Surprisingly quick and fun to paint. And no he's not staying like that for the monthly theme

Stop fighting about the rules guys. You sound incredibly crazy getting mad about this stuff. From what I can tell is somebody didn't follow a rule, that dwight guy came in and told you to follow the rules (you would be surprised how many rebels paint tiny figurines) and everyone freaked out? People spent a lot of time and effort into putting this together, if your only contribution to it is to complain, do us a favor and don't.

EDIT: A moderator would like to see this end as well. Please, let's just move on. Since we can't seem to get it out of our system, I feel that I should, again, try and make amends: to Loaf32, I apologize for how my response sounded. It is clear to me now that it sounds far more sharp than I had intended it, and I do hope that you continue to contribute to this thread. To everyone else: please drop the matter. I don't care if you support or dislike my actions or reasoning, but we are doing no one any favors by posting here about it. This will be my last time discussing this matter--not because I have nothing to say, but that simply this conversation has become far more corrosive to the spirit of the Oath Thread than any one sentence that I've said in the past. Once more, I apologize to Loaf32; please forgive my poor phrasing and chalk it up as a mistake. On to business: KingMob posted:WIP Companion Cube posted:WIP Accepted.

So time for some more WIP stuff Next step is paint everything that isn't green back to black so it's easier to keep uniform and paint over. ![]() Here's the front ![]() And here's the back. Next gonna start up the bling. Going to make these mothers shine. Honestly this is one of the weirdest looking stages of the model as it looks so gaudy until I get more colors on there. ![]() So here's the front ![]() And here's the butt Next step will be to bring in the brown for the belts and pouch as well as the colors for the gun and grenades. Here's a shot of the work I've been doing on my Grey Hunters: I do a base coat of Adeptus Battlegrey, followed by a generous wash of Badab Black, followed by a drybrushing of Space Wolves Grey. They are two seperate models so they'll count as 2 for oathing purposes. Just state that you're painting one dragoon mounted and a dragoon on foot or something similar so we recognize it as 2 entries.Mt. Possible responses, only one of which is true: 1. After I stopped posting in the last thread, she left me for Bachtere because I couldn't fulfill her needs as a painter anymore. 2. She was really just my imaginary girlfriend, and I just told everyone that she lived in Canada so that I wouldn't have to worry about them trying to meet her. The Oath thread helped me come to terms with this harsh reality. 3. We had a good laugh, and we're actually going to the store today because she wants to Oath some Trollbloods this year. 4. After a series of wacky madcap events while traveling, we ended up getting married in a commune in Prague. We are now training our children to batch paint Skaven Slaves in hopes of having the world's largest block of steadfast 2 point models. e: Corrode posted:
