Well, I'm heading to my local GW tonight to pick-up the starter painting set (because I'm a lazy sack) as my foray back into painting. My first oath will most likely be one of the space marines that comes in the pack (even if it means that's not enough for an official oath).

I'm pretty sure my first efforts will be terrible, so be prepared to see some seriously crappy rear end space marines parading around in here.

I got really disheartened the oath thread before last, because I'm not that great a painter and when compared to some of the people, my miniatures looked like they had been finger-painted by a child.

Once you stop taking macro photographs of your spacemans (and glaring at their flaws which are made SO OBVIOUS when you upload the image to SA) and instead actually see your fully painted army on a tabletop, getting knocked over by dice and suchlike, quality and detail becomes less of a concern and you can think "Hey wait, my fully painted army actually looks just fine when I'm standing over them with a beer and tape measure"

If you add to your oath, please include your previously accepted WIP pictures, point them out as such, and say what they were. This will make keeping track of people's running oaths much easier. With so many people in the contest, it can get a little crazy sorting through everything.

Say what you will about Blizzard games, but I know a bunch of you (myself included) are biting at the bit, counting the very seconds until 12:01 AM of Tuesday, May 15th rolls around at your local video games dealer. You scurry home to begin your seclusion from the world at large... And sadly, your oaths will suffer Diablo's wrath!

So, I implore all of you: resist the temptations of the very hells themselves, and complete your oaths this month! But, if you find that you, like the Dark Wanderer, are ultimately too weak of will to resist the call, ensure that your oaths are light enough this month that they do not become a regret.

I shall have to discuss this dark revelation with the other Prime Evils...
