Now Syfy will have more money to make movies about mutant sea creatures.

Syfy executives decided they shouldn't adulterate their core content of UFOs, wrestling, and lumberjacks with science fiction.

Now if they could just combine the three.

SyFy is actually retarded and it's bleeding over to Space here in Canada. Can someone explain this please? I think it's called "network decay" but I don't get why a Cable channel would even care about that.

All niche channels go through this. The problem? Money, or the lack of. Remember when TLC was The Learning Channel and you could actually learn something from it? And the Arts & Entertainment channel had art? All gone now. Sci-Fi is no different. It's all about profits with no substance.

TLC, History Channel, Tech TV before the fall. All of this has happened before. But the question remains, does all of this have to happen again?

Ovation started out just like A&E with shows about famous pieces of art, ballet, opera, etc and now they just show movies and crappy reality shows. You know what's on it right now? Cool As Ice. Yes, the Vanilla Ice movie.

So, yes, it will all happen again.

Ultimately we just go back to "All this happened before" as a reason to think the patterns on Kobol match the patterns we see later in the better documented history of the show universe.

The Cylon fled across the desert and the Adama followed.

If I was a TV exec I wouldn't have ordered a season based on this pilot.

Yes, you would. Then you'd pre-empt it and move it around the schedule so no one would be able to find it. Then, when the ratings didn't meet expectations, you'd cancel it. And when the fans complained, you'd tell them to gently caress off.

It is worth it for one specific scene.

Are you talking about the scene where Galactica does an FTL jump in the atmosphere? Because that was loving awesome.

I like how my DVR's program guide refers to it as the "Season Premiere".
