Arthur D Wolfe posted:I am still not sure whether it could be streamed due to the settings it requires to run on Win7, but I am willing to give it a shot. Might use it as a pre-stream this Saturday as long as I can get a guest; there is no way to run the game windowed, so I need someone to connect me with the stream chat during play. I'll see if I can be around a little early and keep you up to speed on what the chat is saying during the pre-stream. At least, if that's all right with you?

I kinda wish Demonophobia wasn't quite so unpleasantly explicit/the wrong kind of creepy, for the sake of people's reactions, but I suspect it would break multiple forum rules to actually post videos of that game. It's just so weird and freaky, with plenty of trial-and-error gameplay, but I suspect the actual content would land somebody in a lot of trouble with their video hosting and/or forum account. Edit: No, seriously, this game is *really*

So, was anyone else having trouble with the stream chat yesterday? It kept loading and loading for me, and after about ten minutes it would finally load. I'd look at who was in the room, and it would be empty! Try after try that would keep happening. Stream was fun, though! I must say Eternal Champions on the Sega CD did have really unfair computer AI, but I would swear it was built more for Player Vs. Player. I mean, it has something like a dozen different types of Versus modes! Plus, that was in the same year MK3 came out, that's when fighting game companies just seemed to say "Screw it! Make them work for it." and jack up the difficulty to ungodly levels. And as for Rage in the Cage, did you try holding A+B before you started pushing towards the turnbuckle? I remember it being a little tricky to pull off, but it has to know your intentions before you start. If you scramble up the turnbuckle, you're doing a top rope move. If you're slogging slowly upwards, building tension (if you'll notice, Shawn did that several times), then you're trying to escape the cage.

It's the standard "best out of 3" match against him, though the gimmick is that the Eternal Champion has multiple forms, can use his special moves as much as he likes, and you have to beat 5 different forms consecutively just to win a single round against him. And if you somehow managed to beat him, then you will have to fight his dark counterpart that was added exclusively for the Sega CD version. Who is just as much of a dick as the Eternal Champion was. And the kicker of it all? If you lose the match against the (Dark) Eternal Champion, you get a bad ending and are kicked straight back to the main menu, no matter how many continues you had left at that point.

Something I failed to mention during the stream yesterday is that I finally got my hands on a digital camera again, so it is time for a much belated gallery showing of the wondrous birthday gifts I received last month! First out are some wonderful Neo Geo insets that Domus picked up at a convention for cool people like herself. It should be noted that the first two are double-sided, so I can grab shots of the other sides if you really want to see them. Top Hunter Roddy and Cathy, the spiritual precursor to Metal Slug. Art of Fighting 2, one of the big fighting game franchises of the system. A general advertisement inset that displays the Neo Geo MVS cabinets in three different configurations. Next up is quantum_squirrel who not only supplied me with four wonderful video games, but also personally crafted a custom-made AD&D collectible trading card! The front, displaying our courageous (?) hero. Some paper bits are sadly missing as the postal service was rather unkind to the package... The back, giving us a overview of our hero's capabilities - or lack thereof, perhaps. I am not sure how to best express my gratitude to Domus and quantum_squirrel, so I will simply give them both a big old Swedish "Tack så mycket!". You are officially in the top percentage of Loathsome Jerk viewers. Johnny Amadeus posted:So, was anyone else having trouble with the stream chat yesterday? With that said, everyone feel free to come up with the most bizarre Top 20 requests you can think of. If there is a way to make it work I can probably find it, and half the fun of my streams is watching me suffer anyway.

Having looked this up I would also vote for this. It really isn't all that bad if you're used to the absuridities of Guro and just general Japan gore. There's a traslated version out there somewhere, but I've never seen it. Though since it's just the stream and there's already videos of it on Youtube it should be ok, though don't quote me on that.

Arthur D Wolfe posted:The whole thing was a bit absurd, but hopefully it was better viewing than me just climbing out two minutes into the match. It was a very enjoyable view! I spent hours on that game back in the days just to see those grainy old FMVs that would play whenever you won tournament mode with a character. It was just like, a five second clip of them either holding a belt, or if they were never champion, winning a match. I'd throw in an idea for "Top 20: Drunk and Disorderly", if only so you could show off the brilliance that is "Bozo's Night Out" on the Commodore 64. Seriously, that thing was genius.

![]() And here is our Youtube playlist, properly partitioned this time around! Bad news for those of you living in Germany and Japan however: Make My Video with Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch may be blocked in your countries due to the fact that a game based around making music videos has music in it. A note for those who missed the stream, I did beat Panic! yesterday but it was not recorded due to HDD space running out. ...okay, wow. Guess you can't force your friends to take part in "Mofo the Psychic Gorilla" now. But the basic idea was that Disc 2 is where you do the set-up for the tricks beforehand, and there are even FMV's which tell you, the hypothetical owner of the game, how the tricks are supposed to work. edit: Thanks for pointing that out, I was worried for a second ![]() Also, the recorded stream can be found here: http://www.twitch.tv/arthurwolfe/b/315740331 About 3 hours in is where Panic! starts. I see I wasn't the only one trying to figure out Smoke & Mirrors. I got Mofo to sort of work. It seems to involve the C button and the D-pad. There's a little green spark that appears on the 10 o'clock edge of the crystal ball after you double tap C. Messing around with C and the d-pad got Mofo to work after pressing start. He first asks four of these questions randomly: "Do you have relatives living on Venus?" "Do birds fire machine guns?" "Are you playing on a Sega CD system?" "Do you have metal skin?" "Are you over nine feet tall?" "Do you breathe air?" "Were you born on planet Earth?" Then he asks the color, suit, and finally what card it is specifically. I think we're going to have to do a long and painful full and proper LP of Penn & Teller's Smoke and Mirrors. The game's just too much like a certain other adventure game (about an Alien Life Form) to just leave it at the first screen. Once you actually know what you're doing it's not a difficult game (there's literally no way to die or fail), it's just incredibly tedious and boring. Some highlights: -getting your own stunt doubles who look nothing like you, who can run around and punch people -collecting Penn & Teller autographs by stealing them back from the fans you give them to -seeing Teller playing multiple speaking(!) parts -more Debbie Harry than you can stand
