Holy poo poo, first thing I get to the office and I already see a thread on this. Your guys' enthusiasm really brings a smile to me. Thanks, all of you. I'm currently working at Harebrained Schemes as a Tools Engineer / UI programmer. So it is likely I'll be working on the level editor. We're really excited about this project and I'm glad people are really positive after a ton of kickstarters already up. We worked really hard on the proposal which is why we waited so long after the initial wave. Also I give so much poo poo to Mitch, my producer boss who was the executive producer on Shadowrun 2007, it's awesome. Also working with Jordan is always exciting. He pretty much funds our small company out of his pocket mostly unless we have some small contract publisher deals so we owe a lot to him.

I'm no PR guy and I certainly don't want to get into philosophical arguments, but I'd like to just help answer any questions I can. We currently have a way to simultaneously develop for mobile + PC gaming so we're not trying to gently caress anyone over. If something doesn't translate well from mobile to PC, then we're probably going to develop specifically for it, but for now I'd say it's still up in the air, especially during development and seeing what works and what doesn't work. Since we're a small indie team, I'm sorry to say but we can't make a AAA 50 hour RPG. What we're trying to do is make a smaller tight RPG that can have an extended world if people want to make levels for. The licensing thing is a huge clusterfuck and I don't even know heads or tails of it. At the end of the day, Jordan doesn't own the Shadowrun license 100%, we do have to spend money to procure licensing deals for it. The $400k number is a low ball. We don't want the goal too high and not make the game. We want to make this game, end of story. I'm going to assume the other source is going to be Jordan himself, like it's been all the time. I'm not going to convince everyone to donate their hard earned pizza money to this game or convince kickstarter is some bastion of hope for gaming. We see it as an opportunity to see people other than big publishing companies excited for something that we're also excited for and to make something for these people instead of the publishers. endlosnull fucked around with this message at Apr 4, 2012 around 18:48 |

Hey guys. I appreciate all you guys, whether you're into this project or not. I think this is an interesting subject matter and this is definitely something we don't want to exploit. So here, have a quick day 1 response thank you from Mitch. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects...d3&play=1#video

UltraShame posted:I am so psyched for this game to be successful. Especially for the level editor for making your own runs. It's something that dovetails so perfectly with the idea of a pencil-and-paper type of RPG being adapted into a digital game. I'm glad you're excited for the level editor and I hope it'll be a big draw because I'm probably going to be developing the editor. I made a Starcraft-esque level editor for our previous game with an event trigger system that was accessible for our non-programming designers. I'm not sure of all the details of anything yet so I can't answer any questions on it, but my hope is to make it cool and accessible enough to let anyone make their own level. I grew up making weird game maps for Starcraft and such so I definitely know the feeling.

I'm glad you guys are still excited but I think I might take a little bit of a backseat here, for sanity sake. If you guys have any questions, really the best way is to go straight to the source and email our kickstarter. Mitch, our producer, is practically on email duty and he loves answering your emails. We know the biggest problem is we've been vague on the details, but honestly we were lowballing it and thought all we could do was to make a real small game, but the response has been overwhelming and now we have the opportunity to make the kind of game we really want to make, ie cool poo poo. Last night we were knee deep in discussion about everything and now we're currently working on an update that'll hopefully answer a lot of questions and get people more excited. So aside from that, I can't really answer too many questions but thanks for your support. Also, I brought up the idea of a small little Quick Look or Let's Play with some of us and Jordan and Mitch playing the old Shadowrun games, SNES, Genesis, PnP, or XBox360. Do you guys think you'd like something like it? No promises though, I don't wanna be that guy.

I am going to assume you are talking about 4th Generation and you are flat out wrong. Mike Mulvihill worked on and until 3rd Generation and someone else took over 4th Generation.
