So are we sure that the only air benders are descended from Aang. Because there seems to be a lot of other monks in the temple. ![]() Of course they could just be there getting all spiritual or something. SmokyWings fucked around with this message at Apr 18, 2012 around 03:25 |

The idea of benders supporting Amon is pretty interesting. I'm sure there are benders who can see the inequality in their society . Similar to a white abolitionist or something. Hope some pro-equalist benders are seen.

It seems to me that taking away someones bending is a valid form of punishment. If I commit a crime I am sent to prison. Society deems that I am no longer fit to be a member of ...well society. Aang has already set a precedent that if you get out of hand then you will lose your bending.

I am not saying removing someones bending is the best choice. But if I cant follow the example set forth by the Avatar, bringer of peace and balance, then who should I follow. It seems hard to say Amon is wrong when he is doing almost exactly what Aang did.

Fried Chicken posted:We saw the way that they dealt with benders they had apprehended in the original series. The Earth Kingdom soldiers were going to crush Iroh's hands so he couldn't firebend anymore. You must consider that those earth benders might have been acting without approval of their superiors. Because they where trying to transport a dangerous prisoner,Iroh, who had already tried to escape. on a different note I wonder if Amon is a bender and just a big self hater. Like he was the one who blew up his family and messed up his face by accident. Similar to what Aang did when he first tried to fire bend and hurt Katara.

Read posted:We saw a monkey without a face when Aang visted Koh, it had no mouth or eyes If I am remembering correctly. The faceless monkey made a monkey noise scream when it turned its head. That jump scare always gets me. Anyways, this seems to mean that a person/creature can talk without their face. But still Amon has eyes so that breaks the whole Koh theory. (Maybe his eyes are painted on, hah)

If killing the avatar in "avatar state" kills all past and future avatars. Would removing bending in the avatar state remove the bending for all past and future avatars. If this whole de-bendify thing has something to do with the spirit that is. (As in some kind of spirit bending)
