Magnificent Flame being activated by skill is tempting me to pick Skill as my favorite ability when making my My Unit. Assuming of course that adds a bunch to the growth rate and not something useless.

But first I need a 3DS and the game to be in the States.

It seems like the dodge formula in Awakening is 1.5* Attack Speed + Luck/?

The one thing that I could never remember about Fire Emblem games was why Luck didn't have much to do with dodging. Just seemed so simple to me that lucky=dodgy.

Also, how do people find out the growth rates? I assume that someone hacks/cracks the game and puts it on SF or a similar site. I think it'd be nice if there was a FE game that showed a unit's growth rates so you'd have a basic idea if a person is worthwhile (without RNG blessing) or not.

Also, I mentioned showing growth rates ingame before and someone argued it would be too hard to display them on the status screen.

Well, maybe they would only show up if you turned an option on in the menu or something. And then next to the stat number just show an icon like Zurai said.

A thought just occurred to me; since Awakening seems to have very powerful characters/options for characters, what will Maniac/Lunatic/Super-Hard be like?

Some of the enemy only skills on Serenes Forest look positively nasty, but if every player character is so powerful, that might not matter. So the solution I devised was that the hardest difficulty lowered growth rates. Not so powerful anymore, are you player?!

Good Lord, the numbers

Enemies using game mechanics against the player would be super cool. Suddenly the entire enemy army is one giant support chain!

How would giving better weapons more durability be balancing? Better weapons having less uses is balanced! And how would making True Hit favor the player be balancing? Ensuring the player mostly hits and the enemy mostly misses would make the game a cakewalk! I don't think you understand what that word means, yet you keep using it.

And as Hikarusa said, making all the weapons equal to swords is pretty dumb.

I will try to constructively criticize. Are you thinking of changing missions any? And how will you be changing the characters?

^^ I did say "gauntlet of bosses". Only the final three have Mantle.

Well but see, I've got Volke. Volke has 32 str and 40 speed, which is pretty good, but not that good compared to my god-nolan with 40 str and 35 spd and access to axes. But then Volke also has that sweet sweet +25 critical which combined with the Baselard's 15 crit gives him really critical rates of around 40 in normal combat, which means he, over a period of time, will probably deal significantly more damage than Nolan. This is why he's really good. But then, whoops, you can't crit these guys. His amazing damage output has suddenly turned very mediocre. He's now essentially useless (and better to be replaced by other units like the dragons you get) for entirely arbitrary reasons. I mean it's not severe and will probably not stop you from beating the game but I thought it was a really dumb way to limit your killing power because it favors some units over others.

This is part of the reason I hate the final three bosses, too. I want Trueblade Edward with Gamble to wreck everything, but NOPE! Might as well have not saved those Killing Edges for the whole game.

Third, I'm not sure how much work people would be willing to put into campaigns of their own. Would it be better to leave it a fairly flexible framework that requires programming knowledge (though hardly programming expertise) to develop, or more in the direction of a rigid structure that can more easily accommodate non-programmers? Keep in mind, of course, that in both cases it falls to the developer to provide all the many details of their design.

I wish all fire emblems had a map editor at least as nice as the ones in Advance Wars. I'd say at least start with that as your base.

Just beat Part 1 of RD again, and I'm liking how this run is turning out. Everyone is turning out well above their averages, except...well...Nolan. He's been surprisingly mediocre and that is blowing my mind as he has always been one of my best units. Maybe this is payback for my Micky getting HP and Spd nearly every level...

I forgot how goddamn great Elincia's Gambit is. So many things to do and ways to do them! Although, the rest of the chapter is kind of weak, mainly because the enemies are really underleveled, it seems. This means that when I have this great big siege map to play around in the "Amazing Royal Guards" have gained maybe one level apiece and are immediately worthless. At least everyone else is great, why my Nephanee has been gaining Str and Def like she thinks she's Aran!

It's because of time. The name Crom does come from actual mythology, though; the Irish god Crom Cruach, who was propitiated with human sacrifice and after whom Conan's deity was named.

In FE10 it is easier to send Micky because you don't have to transfer over an A support with Mordecai or Lethe from FE9.

FE10, which requires Micky or Mordecai/Lethe if one of those two had an A rank support with Stefan in the FE9 data which you then transferred over.
