Literally gently caress IT. I have found that to be probably one of the hardest things in the game for me so far. Harder than the next couple of extreme tracks.

Honey it's tight like that.

Finally decided to buy this last night and give it a quick try, ended up playing until 2am and cursing at the ghost of one (most likely goon) buddy on my list who has the game.

If you want more pathetic scores to compare to your own, add The Metanaut. I've been sucking at these games since Kik-Start. (this game totally needs a cool bail sound like that)

Let me show you how it's done

Trials is back! Hard to connect to multiplayer sometimes, but its awesome. I just played a 20min extreme track that somehow I came out in 1st.. 246 faults.

I just unlocked platinum in single player, but I have a long way to go on those.

and what kind of world would it be? HUH?!

I only have to finish the last extreme track to have finished them all and jesus loving christ how can so few people create something that causes such abject misery to so many

I think the worst one so far is the sin city track. There's 2 jumps near the end. One on the playing field where you have to land on an uphill wooden pallet and then there's another higher one with a little gap. Then the jump after that where you have to somehow jump up a vertical wall.

Also, finally golded the loving water spout one god drat it.

Edit: For your own sanity I advise not to watch the top time replays for the extreme tracks.

Stormrider is constantly a fraction of a second in front of me, as well, except for the rare occasions that I find a magical line and end up beating my whole leaderboard. But let me stress, those are rare.

The tracks in that video look brutal. I'm only pretty much 2/3 through the campaign and have had trouble with plenty of levels already; there's no way I'm gonna finish this without some video references.

Lovin' this so far. Gigatrack is really easy except I get nervous right at the end. I ALMOST zero faulted it and loving hosed it up in the last few seconds. Goddamnit. Gold is easy though.

One thing I love, and it's a small thing, but every time your player launches or explodes or whatever, you can loving watch it play out. I hate games where you see your guy go launching through the level and you want to see the ragdoll physics have some fun but it resets you to the checkpoint or whatever before it finishes.

Has anyone stumbled across any gems in the first wave of custom tracks?

I've spent some time sifting. Here's are some decent ones:

1. WELCOME MAYA WORLD by RED is DEAD
2. Red Boxes by Insanedude13
3. Bike About Town by Darktom77

And from the depths of 'so-bad-it's-good':

1. Aqua-swag by TxS I VoXen
2. car jump by FORTIS jon

None of these are super-hard, they're mostly gimmick/themed tracks so YMMV, but they're worth a look.

It'd be nice if the netcode would let me stay in a match with people I've been matched up with. There are clearly people out there playing, but good luck finding or even staying in a game. I can't believe I am seeing yellow ping with open NAT and 15MB FiOS internet.

Found something odd on Tree Hugger. After the 6th checkpoint, there's a ramp onto a building, with a small gap in the ramp. If you fall through the gap onto the logs below, the rider explodes into the air, and the atmosphere turns a deep red color, before you fall back down and its normal again. It's completely repeatable each time, so maybe its intentional. Not sure of its significance.

But man is it fun, and I keep coming back to the game, even if the tracks are hard as nails and I have to replay the same map 30 times to get a run with no faults.

I practically torture myself with this game because I have to do a no fault run, every time!

But I just love playing this game, and it is such a nice game to just play for a bit to get my mind off of Uni stuff.

Right now there's a bazillion poo poo tracks, and since the amount of votes isn't weighted and you can't set a "minimum votes" filter it's a pain to sift through all of that crap. People really need to vote, I've seen many really bad tracks with hundreds of downloads and one five-star vote (from the creator most likely).

It can be tricky though - when I play a really poo poo track, my desire to rate it '1' is in competition with my desire to stop playing the track (whereby I cannot rate it of course)

You can mess with the multiplayer matchmaking settings, I had to adjust some sliders to actually get some reliable games going.

Yeah but on the off chance that you find people about your level there is no way to play more than one match against them. It even says press A for rematch which to me means play another match with the same people, instead it just dumps you back to the "searching for players" screen.

I'm really liking the actual gameplay in multiplayer but the netcode and matchmaking are utter dog poo poo.

What this game really needs is the multiplayer from SSX.

The other fun thing I found the multiplayer to do is to lose track of my wins and level. I know I've won at least 5 matches and when I last logged off I lost about 4 levels (from 9 down to 5).

Oh well, at least the singleplayer is fantastic.

There are a few levels that seem to the miss the point in order to show off the new features, but most all of the hard and extreme tracks seem pretty amazing, even if I am horrible at them.

Fuckin' A...just got the Unyielding II achievement (beat rocksteady without faulting and without ever changing the rider's position). Took like 45 straight minutes of trying.

Also managed to beat all the extreme tracks in one go today too...will be hard to gold, but otherwise nothing TOO terrible.

Yeah, I tried that earlier, it doesn't seem impossible but man I dunno when I'm gonna have the stomach to actually try it, it seems infuriating just from doing it for the first few obstacles. On the bright side, the Archipegalo full throttle one was pretty easy (and fun)

Rocksteady wasn't too bad, took maybe 30 minutes to figure out the right movements. Which bike did you use for Archipelago? I haven't taken that one on yet.

Scorpion works well, since you can get plenty of speed while avoiding the backflipping tendencies of the Phoenix.

The only downside of this is that I got a better time just mashing the gas down for the whole level than I did when I was trying to actually play.

I used the Phoenix and it wasn't too much of a problem. The Scorpion might be easier but I just generally default to the Phoenix.

Playing the hardcore MP is alot of fun, way more fun than regular playlists where you get the beginner tracks that come down to who mashes the throttle full the hardest.

Note to pubbies though: if you can't beat the first obstacle don't pick it. Had a game where I beat it in 50~ faults and every person was still on the first level.
