Dammit. Waited 28 mins in queue then as soon as I select my character it says error in connection blah blah power outage blah blah other random stuff. Now I have to sit in queue for 28 minutes again.

I'm surprised queue is shorter than yesterday though. At least theres something positive.

Well this is the most hilarious thing I read on the forums.

Infamy takes way to long to lose. There is no effective way to lose it. It greatly diminishes the game for the time that you have it and it should not prohibit a person from playing the game for longer than half a day.

You gain 60 points for killing players 6-10 levels lower than you. 120 points for players 11 or more levels lower than you.

Infamy Points will diminish at a rate of one every five minutes. You can also work them down one at a time by killing monsters equal to your level or higher.

I currently have 4446 Infamy. That means I basically cannot enjoy this game for 22,220 minutes or 370 hours. That is an absurd amount of time. You make somebody have a harder time for ten minutes and you get trapped Outlaw for the rest of your life. I mean call me and idiot for getting 4446 Infamy points, but I simply don't see a point in continuing my preorder or even my purchase in this game if my character will still be Outlawed for the next twenty weeks.

Infamy should at worse max when you have half a day or you need more effective ways of ridding yourself of infamy such as killing other infamous persons or dying. You could also possibly lower the amount of infamy you get from 60 and 120 to something like 10 and 20. Still a very, very long period of time, but not as absurd as what it currently is.

To have someones character basically ruined for camping Lumber Town bridge for 20 minutes is stupid.

The infamy is pretty severe but I have no sympathy for anyone ganking people vastly under their level. There is no way they can fight back and they are doing it just to be an rear end in a top hat. At least now he has weeks to think about it while he fights people his own level.

If the BAM score the final hit you don't get exp/rewards/drops. I did 99% of the damage to a BAM accidentally pulled a second one that did a breath attack and killed the first one and I didn't get anything.

I got into one run of the vampire dungeon last night, which was my first time doing any dungeon. The others in the group had obviously run the place many times, so that likely skews the experience a bit, but as a lancer I had trouble balancing keeping my mana up, not taking damage, and using my own stuff to keep the mobs off the others. My question then is how much damage is reasonable for a lancer to take on trash mobs? I can sit there and block everything, but outside of whatever threat my taunt shout gives me, I can't really hang onto the mobs for long. If I work in skills and basic attacks for mana I can hold them, but I take a lot more damage. Are trash mobs pretty much just an exercise in everyone burning them down and not paying too much attention to defense? I also died to the big boss at the end, but that was due to unfamiliarity with its patterns and not really having the time to learn on the fly and me just being stupid.

I don't really have problems with mana or holding threat while tanking in trash mobs or bosses. Trash mobs are really easy you run up and use your aoe taunt to pull and stack them up to shield counter them. I have the 100% bonus threat glyph for shield counter. Poke them after they use their skill and you get your mana back easily. They don't really do that much damage that you need to hold your block constantly unless you pull more than one group at once. Just block when you see them glow red or when the witches cast a magic spell.

The bosses aren't really challenging either just remember that you don't need to spam all your damage skills or you'll run out of mana fast. You can still hold threat by using your aoe taunt and shield counter. When you have excess mana then you can start using damage skills but avoiding damage is more important than doing damage. You have 3 people doing that they don't really need your help. The vampire king does a lot of damage but as long as you combo attack once in between every block you can block all the damage but you'll be sitting at 100-300 mana the whole time so unless your team has stuns you'll have to eat a few hits now and then just to use shield counter for threat. The last boss is extremely easy once you know what to do. I learned never to tank bosses in the middle of the room because thats where they summon mobs. If you tank him off to the side every time he tries to run to the center cast a chain and he will stop and come back.

So round them up with taunt, then just block and mash shield bash and shield counter basically, got it. It didn't really help that while I was trying to position things they were going ahead and unloading, so I had to scramble around trying to do as much aoe as I could. I didn't know about the leash thing either and figured the adds spawning was just a thing that should always happen. I'll just have to run dungeons more to get the hang of them better.

In case I end up the group leader at some point, what are the commonly accepted loot rules? I assume class-restricted and only roll on blue or better?

Honestly I rarely ever lost threat after the initial aoe taunt to pull them. Even with everyone unleashing everything they would still stick on me trying to get to me. By the time they reach me my aoe taunt is ready and I'll just scream real loud again. Eventually they'll reach you and stack up.

I just use class restricted roll on blues. I did have a team of 4 Mexicans that kept trying to tell me to change the loot rules in broken English. I told them I switched but they kept insisting so I passed them leader. He picked class roll on EVERYTHING. Having the roll box pop up over your tiny Elin and you can't see the mobs attack to know when to block is the most frustrating thing ever.

You could always roll a warrior. They're capable enough tanks and good dps/utility. although their tanking ability is being reworked so currently most pubbies assume they are DPS only. At least that way when you want to tank something you can, but can go ahead and DPS the rest of the time.

I've run into more bad DPS than bad tanks though. I played a healer to cap in CBT and a lancer to current OBT cap.

There is a misconception that Warriors are bad tanks though. I seen a lot of people that would rather wait longer for a Lancer than to give that Warrior tank whispering them a try because "to minimize chances of messing up a run I would trust a Lancer more than a Warrior because its harder to fail as a Lancer." Not being able to queue as a tank isn't helping either.

Yes running into a safe point is stupid. You're on a PvP server because you want to PvP. Everyone I meet would keep running away from me. I can't chase them with my lancer they just keep getting away and eventually get to a safe spot and sit there. Its not like its a disadvantage or anything. Sometimes they're the ones who flagged outlaw and hit me then start running when they start to lose. Other times I poke someone and he/she starts making a run for the closest safe spot. The most annoying part is they get into the safe spot with 0.8% health left.

Kind of wondering what glyphs to get for a lancer. So far I have:
-Combo attack bonus mana
-Spring attack bonus damage
-Shield bash giving bonus speed to Onslaught
-Shield bash cooldown
-Onslaught damage
-Shield counter threat

Not sure what else to get. More threat on challenging shout? Debilitate bonus duration? Bonus duration on shield bash? So many choices so little points.

I'm really noticing how slow Lancers are at soloing now. Sure I can solo any BAM I come across minus a rare guy with a bunch of unicorns but it takes anywhere from 10 minutes for really easy ones like Ovoliths to 20 minutes like Fangspawns and Vulcans and the more durable ones. Doing normal quests are alright they usually die from a spring attack + Onslaught combo but BAMs are taking forever now. I'm only 42 so I expect it to be a lot worse once I get higher.

The nice thing about Lancers is that to make good money killing BAMs, you either farm them for a while, or you find a rare one. A Lancer has a much easier time killing a BAM he hasn't had the chance to practice, so it's perfectly viable to roam around hunting down rare BAMs and killing any players that get in your way.

Yeah BAMs are incredibly easy to fight but I think they take far too long to kill for money. I recorded one awhile ago on fraps.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLjwx-Ek018

I'm not sure if I'm even fighting them correctly. If there is a way to kill them any faster than this. Maybe I'm being too defensive. Ovolith are also one of the faster BAMs I can solo too (minus the last 30% where they keep running away and making it take so much longer.) Trying to fight others take almost twice as long as this as they are far more durable.

I'm trying to figure out if it has something to do with the game not registering certain keys during combos/abilities/etc, or if it's my mouse.

DPS AND HEALERS! IF you are running Golden Labyrinth and the tank magically loses aggro don't start raging into chat. Going "you're the shittiest lancer I ever seen" or "loving drown you useless piece of poo poo" isn't going to make it any easier on the tank. The mobs will seek a temporary target.

Do you see that red half closed eye? It does that and chases after a random person even when you are spamming Challenging Shout as hard as you can.

I had a sorcerer stand around doing nothing because "I pull aggro with one spell this isn't going to work if you can't tank" and have them chase him regardless of just standing there not attacking. He spent the next 10 minutes trying to lecture the group on how to maintain threat and how to tank and then say "Sorcerer threat is broken right now so I can understand me pulling aggro but you guys are retarded."

TANKS! Don't yell at the DPS. If you see the red half closed eye, alert your group. They will be understanding usually.

Please no fighting with each other about threat! Sometimes its unavoidable! Play nice together and you can clear the dungeon faster and collect your loots!

I tanked Golden Labyrinth just an hour ago with 48-49's. If someone were to die we usually could hang on long enough to get a res. We didn't get a single wipe but one boss had most of us die at least once. If you miss a bad block or get hit as a DPS/Healer you will get 1 shotted.
