I am going to go and say ignore everything here. It's easy. Now, it's been a while so this might not be perfect, but use Aard. A lot. Don't use Quen, no anything else. Just Aard. When he has a... Shield up, simply roll around until it drops. Aard. Smack him 3-5 times I forget the magic number, roll away. Repeat. Aard allowed me to stun him with ease, hacking away freely. I think I got through it without taking a hit just using aard and rolling.
