One thing I was confused about was duck actually bitten? Larry says he didn't know beacuse the kid was dirty, but I think a child would be crying his rear end off if he had a chunk of flesh missing. I also notice that in the next episode previews Larry's daughter complained that I took duck's side over her dad, I really hope I can bring up the fact that He kick me in the loving face and left me for dead after I helped save his worthless life

Yeah, it's similar to Alpha Protocol in some ways, but it feels like you're making more choices with relatively small impacts on personal relationships, and occasionally encountering a BIG DECISION. Alpha Protocol's system worked for a big web of intrigue with a zillion conflicting factions, and this feels appropriately scaled back for small groups of people occasionally forced into tough survival scenarios with lasting consequences. I don't think you'll be able to play it 6+ times to get vastly different outcomes like AP. You'll probably be able to play it once and feel like you're having a natural, meaningful impact, then go back and do the opposite to see how things would play out if you let certain people live or treat everyone differently. The framerate doesn't seem great (playing on 360) but I'm definitely hooked. Didn't care for the TV series but I can see myself buying the rest of these episodes. The graphics remind me of the early Tony Moore issues of The Walking Dead (which I preferred) so that's pretty neat. One thing that confused me, maybe I missed something why did Lee and Carly go out to find Glenn without the narrative seeming to address it? It seemed quite random to suddenly be at the motor inn.

And the game has a frame rate glitch for ATI cards, turn off shadows to reduce the amount of annoying frame rate stuttering.

Carly may be a good shot but she is straight up retarded. "The radio won't work, I'm trying to fix it" *inspect radio, no batteries* "There are no batteries in here" "oh" "Ok, here are some batteries." "It still doesn't work!" *inspects radio again, batteries are backwards* ...Yeah, I think Doug was the right choice.

Arnold of Soissons posted:1- is it interesting to replay? The best thing in AP was how not only could you find things out with certain decision paths that otherwise you would never, ever know, but also that the cannon of the story could change from playthrough to playthrough depending on your actions. Does this have that, or just a little, or not at all really? There's about two hours or so of content in this episode. So, eventually things should start changing in future eps (there's at least one big decision in ep1 that pretty much has to) but there's almost nothing you do ep1 that actually has implications in ep1 beyond a changed line of dialogue I didn't even notice the clicking thing, hotspots will suck up the cursor anyway; it's a non-issue.

Finished episode one today and loved it. The style is mostly fantastic looking, but I thought with some characters Telltales style overrode The Walking Deads look (specifically with Larry and some of the zombies) so its like bits of a cartoon in a comic but mostly it looks great. I feel like the subtle choices were generally handled very well, while the big obvious ones like giving the girl the gun or not were a bit too video-gamey and really wanted to make sure you know YOU HAD THE CHOICE AND HERE'S SOMEBODY BEING PISSED AT YOU SO BOTH CHOICES ARE EQUAL. I'm also worried Telltale collecting the choices you made will lead future writers to putting more into the more popular choices. [spoiler]I liked gun reporter and all but remote nerd seems like he could be a lot more useful after everyone has a weapon. Plus I was hoping I could grab the gun after she dropped it.[spoiler] Looking forward to more, just wish they'd dial back the THIS IS A GAME AND YOUUUU ARE MAKING THE CHOICES. now please give Telltale the Doctor Who license so we can get some proper adventure games out of it.

I had no idea this game was coming out on XBLA until I saw the announcement on Major Nelson's twitter feed today. For some reason I thought it was iOS only. Does this mean that Telltale's made up with XBLA and we might actually see Sam and Max Season 3 and Monkey Island at some point?

So where does the game take place in the Walking Dead timeline? I assume a few weeks after the initial outbreak since a majority of the Walkers are badly decayed.

ja2ke, is there any chance of getting gamepad remapping for the Steam version? I pair a PS3 controller to my Mac as a controller and it would work perfectly if the buttons weren't in the wrong order. I know the prompts would still be XBox symbols, but that's easy enough to figure out. External remapping programs can't seem to be able to swap gamepad buttons around. Thanks.

Man, I'm so glad I picked this up. I have no familiarity whatsoever with the underlying source material or TV show. Saw a QuickLook on Giantbomb, and was intrigued. 400MSP well loving spent indeed. I was just gripped the whole time. And if I wasn't pumped enough for the next installment, by virtue of really enjoying Ep 1, the way they teased it sure did the trick. Edit: Also, I need to look up the VO for Lee, because he sure sounded a lot like Ronald Taylor from Mass Effect 2.

I dunno whether it changes based on the dialog you choose because I've only done one run through so far, but I really liked that the VO came across as Lee regretting his involvement with the senator but perhaps wasn't necessarily responsible, which was how I was playing him. Maybe that will change as more information comes forward, but I liked how it meshed with how I naturally played the game.

If you're not using good speakers, you may not notice it. Also, some people just don't care about that sort of thing. So, I played for a little bit today (on PS3) while I was waiting for a dishwasher to be delivered to my place, and I'm already way invested in the characters. Good poo poo.

It's sort of hard to tell, because it would be completely ridiculous if Lee and the cop hadn't heard about a ZOMBIE PLAGUE, so that makes it seem like the game takes place close to the very beginning of the outbreak. But there are a LOT of zombies in the game from the word go, and like you said they seem very decayed, even for a hot and humid climate. So I don't really know when it is.
