We'll always have our memories won't we? Those special memories that I値l always treasure. You, writhing from the jellyfish sting, me, urinating on the wound.

For the life of me, I'm not sure what's the matter. I have a black screen when playing this game. The text pops up but otherwise the game does not. My mouse is a slightly less black square box. It's launch day so I'm fairly sure there may be some bugs, I'm accustomed to that.

Drivers are up to date. Redownloading the game as there were a few stops during the donwload due to bad connectivity. If that doesn't work, do any of you have any bright ideas on how to fix this?

Edit: Yep, that did it. Thanks goons.

It's also not clear why the boy and Sean didn't notice six walkers slowly stroll up to the fence and grab them. Plot devices are sneaky SOBs it would seem.

What I figure is that the kid started up the tractor by mistake (as it was turned on and on his leg) and the noise attracted the walkers that were loving about in the corn. Attracted by the noise (and the noise of the hammer) they chowed down.

I got bit once. The game just auto-loads right before the death.

Actually, the death animations are pretty sick. In one area the zombie bites you and then begins disemboweling you and eating you in fairly great detail all within about five seconds. Game over screen takes about ten seconds to get to.

Completed chapter one. This game is awesome.

Choices:

1. Tried to save dude under the tractor. He saved Lee's rear end and Lee owed him. In a very cold way, he is/was more useful to me than a small child.

2. Sided with Kenny. gently caress Larry. He wanted to murder a child out of fear and anger. His daughter is not the leader of the group. He is by way of being the least reasonable. In the next game I will off him the second it becomes convenient to do so.

3. I was 100% honest with Clementine about Lee's past. She should know who she is traveling around with. I don't expect a seven year old to make informed decisions, but I also didn't want to outright lie to her about it. I did lie to her about her parents though. Knowing that you're suddenly all alone in the world at a young age would probably crush her. I didn't want to rob her of what little hope she had left, even if the hope was false.

4. Gave the woman the gun. If she wanted to opt out I say fine. Letting her suffer is wrong. I do wish that one of the survivors could have done it for her. I personally wouldn't have trusted her with the gun. One of them mercy killing her seemed far more practical.

5. Saved Carly. Yes, she knows Lee's secret. However, Doug is afraid of zombies. Tech skills are useful, but I figure that someone who is good with a gun and action oriented is more useful than skills with technology. If Doug had some more blue collar skills like welding or carpentry I probably would have chosen him over Carly though.

Yeah, I think that with everyone but Clementine I was always thinking with what was the coldest and most logical part of my brain.

The things for the next episode:

Kill Larry. He flipped the gently caress out and tried to bully the group into throwing Duck to the zombies without even bothering to verify if Duck had been bitten. Later he punched Lee in the face and left him to be eaten by zombies. I could respect him if he just outed Lee as a murderer and had tried to drive him out of the group. I would have hated him, but I could have understood it. However, he just took it upon himself to punch Lee in the face and leave him to be eaten by zombies right after Lee got the meds that saved his life. He's a violent, opportunistic coward and I will throw him under the bus without a second thought. As far as I figure, his daughter is responsible for his actions too by not reigning him in. She would go right under the bus with him. gently caress both of them.

Keep Kenny, Carly and Clementine alive. I really like Kenny. Sure he isn't 100% reliable, but I don't blame him for panicking when his child was in danger. He also knows that panicking when his kid was out of immediate danger was bad, but really got himself together when he had to go for the truck/save Lee's rear end. So he's actually reliable when his family is not in harm's way.

Love this game. Looking forward to the next chapter.

Probably because the product description literally says that it is/would be/will be.

Did it? gently caress, it's been a while then.

Really, if I buy a thing and someone doesn't live up to the expectations, I can understand it if something doesn't fall into place. However, I do want a reasonable explanation and an idea of when I can next expect it.

Voice actors having problems? Code not working properly? Need more time for development? Something else? I am completely fine with that. However, nothing angers me more than silence.

I know they may be slow on the schedule but I'd rather they release the next part when it's ready instead of rushing it out the door and then hearing everyone bitch about all the problems in the game.

I don't care about this as much as I care about a company setting the correct set of expectations for when their product that I paid for is released. If they said it was going to be released two months from now I would have been okay with it. However, a month comes and goes with no word from the developers about when to expect it next. So not only has there been a delay, but we've been given gently caress all about when to expect the next installment. I could excuse and understand one, but not both.

So essentially what you're implying by inference is that a bunch of marketing fucks over at Telltale said they'd release an episode a month, but both knew and didn't care that they couldn't meet goals. We're actually going to be seeing an episode every two months, so essentially they are going to break their promise several more times.

So that makes me wonder why that is. Telltale hasn't offered an apology for being late. Why apologize if you're going to do it again?

Two months is long enough for people to forget about it and a two month schedule means the last episode comes out around Christmas, in fact, if the 26th holds as a date, it'd be the day after Christmas. This would be a perfect time to release a fully developed game to maximize profits while lying to our loving faces. They'll clean up on steam because that's their biggest moneymaking time.

If so, and I think it is, you really shouldn't drop hints like this on a public forum if you're under contract.

Anyone feel like taking a bet on this? I'll offer good odds.

holy poo poo that's a lot of baseless inferring from four words and ridiculous rage for a video game not meeting an unspecified release date of your convenience

why did you loving spergs ruin a nice thread about a good game

It isn't so baseless. If I was looking to make cash this is exactly how I'd do it. Sell a million copies on the front end during release and then sell a million copies on the back end when it's done the day after Christmas. Most games aren't sold piecemeal. They're sold as a final package. Furthermore, end dates are rarely arbitrary, you want to release your game during a prime buying season. Prime buying season has shown to be Christmas time on steam. Rake in that money.

As for the four words, said person refers to another post, more than four words. Statements rarely exist in a vacuum.

It's a claim, but again, a claim that I'd bet money on being right. No rage either, some anger sure, but not rage. Also some admiration. If I'm right they are seriously going to clean up.

I like Kenny. He's rash, impulsive and loyal. He can be a dumbass on occasion, but overall he's an okay guy. Just don't count on him. I honestly think he's the most human of all of the characters so far.

I saw somebody post about this somewhere else and I thought it was a good point.

Everyone is looking out for their families first, not the group. Almost everyone is pretty selfish in this group. I'm actually seeing Kenny as a kinder, less bitter and less jaded version of Larry. The same impulsiveness, the same fits of cowardice, etc. If Lee had gotten off on the wrong foot with Kenny it is quite possible that Kenny and Larry would have been both making GBS threads on Lee. It was just getting off to a good start that got Lee on Kenny's good side.

I don't really trust Kenny. However, with Lilly's dad dead I see almost her entire reason for living completely gone. Whether you did it or Kenny doesn't matter, the group is going to fall apart at the seams. I see healthy members of the group murdering other healthy members of the group (minus Larry, because he sucks) by the next episode. Smart money is on Carly or Doug and I see either Kenny or Lilly doing it.

I'm actually gaining a lot of respect for Lilly. She was making the hard choices with the food this episode and then she laid it on Lee. Having to choose who gets it and who doesn't out of ten people, including yourself is hard as hell. Not only do you have to see who is weak and who isn't, but you have to take politics into account.

Of course, she takes poo poo from her dad, but that's not a big problem anymore.

I saved Ben. Kenny nodded at me when he wanted me to drop him, but gently caress that. I will rekill your dead son and even the kid that looks like your son to spare your feelings/sanity, but I am not your instrument of revenge. You are a selfish man that got dealt a bad hand in the end. I would stand up for Ben to keep him from getting murdered, but I would have told him to leave if I didn't need him.

I'm on the fence about Ben. He's a coward, which is probably why he's lived so long. However, Kenny and Lily did far more in their petty power struggles to put the group at risk than Ben did. Lily let her position as leader eat at her even though she knew she wasn't holding together anymore. Kenny was little better and throws you under the bus for entirely spiteful reasons about once an episode.

I think that if you put the best parts of Kenny, Lily and Ben together, you get a whole person. Ben is a fuckup with a conscience, Kenny has initiative, but was incredibly selfish and had a small conscience, Lily was competent and sacrificed to keep the group together, but snapped under the pressure. Each character has one good trait, but that's all.

Anyway, I would have told Ben to go kick rocks out in the world. Kenny doesn't get to sate his vengeance on Ben. He just wants someone to blame who has a throat he can wrap his hands around. I wouldn't have let Ben stay, but I would have let him walk.

You know, if I didn't need him now.
