This guy reminds me of Huell Howser, who does shows on PBS in California--'California's Gold' and 'Visiting With Huell Howser'. Which granted, are very cool shows and have turned me on to places and things I never knew existed. But Huell is a big, loud, goofy, over-enthusiastic southern good ole boy who is literally unable to resist pawing and mauling delicate, antique or otherwise special and priceless things. He simply MUST grab things up and handle them. One episode had him going to the Salton Sea and having gotten escorted by a Park Ranger and having special permission, was allowed to wander amongst the mud volcano ecosystem there. Big mistake. The ranger just finishes telling Huell that this one particular tiny, ohsodelicate mud volcano had taken something on the order of 10,000 years to form...and Huell reaches down and sticks his sausage fingers in it, completely ruining it. The look of shock, horror, outrage and regret on the ranger's face as he stared speechlessly at Huell was painful.
