http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/p...chnology?c=home These people think they can put a stop to mass shootings by designing a rifle that won't fire when it's in a public place. Apparently, they also think they can get people to give them money when they haven't addressed any of the obvious complications with relying on a technological solution of that nature.

"Smart gun" safety systems have been widely rebuked by the pro-gunners since it,s a fail-safe system, meaning if there's an electronic problem or battery failure the gun will not fire, defeating the purpose of a ready-at-all-times self defensive weapon.

You could also break it and it's not exactly going to stop crimes with guns that already exist in the wild.

Uh, yeah, wouldn't you need a law to go into effect for this to even work in theory? (not that it would work then, but still..) Why would a criminal buy that gun when he can buy any other gun? Is it supposed to be for parents, so their kids don't take their guns and go on a rampage with them? You could just as easily solve that with a gun safe. I'm thinking it has to be a scam, especially because it's flex funding. Speaking of such scams, it looks like the iphone cupholder indiegogo campaign has been removed. By the creator or indiegogo, I don't know, but I'm relieved to know that they didn't end up getting money from people for that.
