Does anyone else in this thread follow Game Informer? In the past 3 or 4 issues, there have been big articles about Kickstarter (mostly the Double Fine stuff but it's still interesting, they sort of go into specifics about the indie projects on KS and how they might go over.

Seriously, what percentage of games where you do not custom-craft your character's appearance allow the male protagonists to look like anything but generic stone-chiseled supermen?

Um, plenty of them? This idea that the portrayal of sexualization in men in games = same sexualization for women in games is not only totally incorrect but in the completely wrong thread.

There's something really irritating about parents that actively try to get their kids to inherit their own interests. Nerdy interests are definitely no exception to this.

Betting that the kids end up just wanting to play sports, anyway.

I think of this whenever I see shows on tv like "Toddlers in Tiaras" or any of those creepy reality shows where the parents failed at something and live vicariously through their poor kids.

Oh my, that Anonymous Agony kickstarter is the worst.

Here is part two:

The first minute or so is especially hilarious because it's so obvious that he wrote this entire game for himself. His character self insert is so "misunderstood" and dark and brooding, and the parents are always yelling at him. The game seems to be about this poor unfortunate guy that is so deep and complex and nobody "gets" him and everyone is mean to him and he is so badass and violent and cool and oh yeah some girl gets raped or something.

edit:

Wait, this is better - there is an entire scene where the parents yell at poor Haze for punching a guy who stole his mom's credit card. They call him a reject and a "drat stupid punk" for saving her card, and then he starts giving them marriage advice!

Gosh Haze, is there anything you can't do?

They drop him off at the police station, then Haze says "don't you know they're drug dealers?" The cop says he would need some proof of it if he were going to prosecute.

Here are some more examples of why Craig is the best cop in the world:

So SPOILER ALERT they left a 10 year old girl home by herself for hours and hours, and come home and she's been raped. The dad screams at the girl and says she did it to herself () and that she is "even stupider than her brother"! Haze, naturally, punches dad in the face and knocks him to the ground. So anyway Haze attacks the guy, who asks who he is, and here is his extremely original do not steal response:

Haze is such a badass and totally not the pathetic self insert of the idiot who created this godawful "game".

Yeah, it's nature and you will probably feel the same way. However there is a good chance you might also turn your brain back on and realize that asking people to pay for your kid's random statements is a really stupid idea.

Hopefully that same part of your brain keeps you from telling everybody you see about how special and hilarious and unique your kid is.

Alright, maybe. But they would make great tattoos, right?

No, they wouldn't, unless you are some trashy idiot biker guy who hangs out in dive bars.
