Getting a sedan going and driving it is pretty nice when you're on the highway. Every town is an utter disaster thanks to giant roadblocks every 10 feet though.

So, can any of you help me out? I've done everything I can think of, both Arma II and OA are fully updated, got all the mod files in the right folder etc. Yet everytime I try and play, I get a server list with all those X's and that message pop-up whenever I try to play one. Which is annoying since I bought OA specifically for this mod. ![]() If any of you have any ideas of why it's doing this and can provide some help, that'd be pretty cool.

Just gonna throw this out there: the airfield doesn't seem like it's ever worth going to alone. The few times I've tried looting that place at night some rear end in a top hat has shot me from far away even though it's pitch black. All of the super tryhard players rush to that place and will have their brightness/gamma maxed anyway.

Stary Sobor is much easier to get into and out of alive since you have a treeline to the immediate north (as well as several hunting blinds on hill 391 north of it, actually), and it can't be blocked off like the barracks can with barbed wire. Most of the loot in the tents is fairly decent as well; you get a mess of different AKs (AKM, AK-74, Kobra) as well as M16/M4 variants but you also have the chance to get the DMR, MP5SD and Remington 870 (with flashlight). The real issue is getting in and out quickly because the zombies inside the tents will respawn fairly quickly and you can easily get killed by them clipping through tents and hitting you.

The Enfield is basically the best thing. I had been carrying one for a couple days but was unsure about it since I could not use it in cities as it would anger every zombie in 300m. But I just had a car of 2-3 people roll down a hill in front of me so I started shooting at it, hitting it a few times mostly around the rear bumper. Did not really expect much but I was enjoying harassing them as they fled down the hill. *pop* ... *BOOM* Must have been over 250m from me when one of my shots finished off the car and it exploded in a fireball, killing everyone inside. Unfortunately all their loot burned but they left two tents for me to ransack with all sorts of goodies.

Is there some bug or something where you can't use bandages/painkillers/morphine? I could bandage myself up fine, but now I can't. Or does the game not allow you to bandage yourself if you're not bleeding? Because in the little bloodrop thing on the right, it's slightly red, but I got rid of the flashing white cross.

Well, fine in the sense that it worked for him, except that the game decided to make my mic unusably quiet for some esoteric reason known only to the greatest minds of our century. None of the results I found on google helped either so we just ended up using steam voice chat instead, in which my mic works at a comfortable volume, as it does with everything not ARMA 2.

Press "f" while you have a misc object in your immediate (As in, not in a pack or vest pouch) inventory, and the weapon indicator will change from your weapon/s, to flare (assuming you have one or more flares), to "throw". I haven't really messed with it yet but I assume throw refers to the misc items.

Dah, knew I should've killed that rabbit, but there was a zombie near by so I had to deal with it first. Then I found a sniper rifle and a truck, and used the rifle to kill a zombie near the truck. They're loud, you know. About 10 zombies within a 500m radius came sprinting at me, foolishly thought I could take them on, killed about 6 though.

Huh, now I think about it I was wondering why the zombie in the sniper house casually strolled his way out the door, I thought that he was incapable of running, but then he did run the moment he got out the doorway. Guess he just had polite guest etiquette. Welp, next game I won't be shooting a rifle near a city.

Using a crossbow or silenced weapon is a huge advantage in this game since the main threat is other players, not zeds. Since the only built in goal in this game is to survive I basically make my real goal to survive long enough to get a really good gun with spare ammo/water/food, then I go hunt other players.

Speaking of the magical forest, I found it while running south to north along the west most part of the map (when the railroad stops and the trees give way to a vast nothingness beyond). I was running along the tree line between the map proper and the abyss, when suddenly I see about 3 players just... Standing there. I nearly poo poo a brick because as I lied there prone I thought they were aiming down scopes looking for me. But they didn't move for about a minute to I walked up to them and shot them. One guy had every item that I would consider "end game" and then some. NV goggles, some craze rifle with 4 clips, cooked meat, GPS, grenades, smoke grenades, silenced SD with clips galore, and even this thing called an Entrenchmant Tool. I felt kinda bad for capping him in a place where he couldnt fight back. I mean, the dude was just loading into the map. So I guess it's poetic justice that as I was looting him the server crashed. When I log back in I'm turned around, lost. I cant find the edge anymore, must less the magical forest, so I begin what can only be described as the most profoundly boring 2 hour trek through endless empty forest in the pouring rain at night. I almost died of thirst.

I logged out in Cherno with the basic goal of finding something in the city that would increase my survivability. Maybe finding a car I could repair, or a tent and some matches so I could effectively set up a camp in the hills. I walked into a building, looking for loot, and shot the two zombies inside. This attracted more from the street, so I walked to the back and shot several as they shambled through the doorway. Then one walks straight through the solid goddamn back wall of the building and knocks me out, causing me to bleed most of my blood while unconscious on the floor. I survived, but now I'm in the middle of the city, effectively blind. Oh, and did I mention I'm a bandit? Yeah, I've never attacked a player the entire time, but the game erroneously deducted me 3000 humanity for no apparent reason, and now I'm a bandit. The last time I logged in, I was prone right in front of a survivor carrying a shotgun. I felt I had to shoot him four times in the back of the head with my .45 revolver because I knew he would blow me away the second he turned, or even just changed to 3rd person view, and saw me there. I felt, and still feel, really bad about it.

Well I made it to the airfield and after two sweeps have logged for the night. I found an M104 shotgun with plenty of ammo which is nice but no other weapons. I also found an uzi in a deer-stand but it wanted to replace the pistol and I thought better of it! Hopefully when I log back in I can search the airfield again for some of these fabled super weapons. It's great fun but I've basically wasted all day on it and now I have a headache.
